Love this map! Fantastic art and ambient music. Both platforming on background tiles and the dream dash are pretty rare mechanics in mods, but they go together so logically. Definitely worth taking a second look for berries if you're so inclined. The final berry has one of my favorite moments in all of SJ Unfortunately, now that you are officially in GM, I'm sorry to report that you may experience GM brain. It is a malady that affects many of us, forcing us to consider the most complicated tech/setups before simple mechanics. There is no cure 18:45 I think "dream wallbounces" also showed up in Hypnagogia, but definitely not a commonly used mechanic. (Plus you could have just done a dream grab before the wallbounce, lol) 42:13 The true final boss of Celeste
congrats on your first gm! flipside is a really beautiful map and Matt Sexton did a great job with the ambience and gradually building music. If you feel like going back for berries b2 is one of my favorites in the whole collab!
WE ARE BACK TO SJ Fun fact about flipside: it used to be yellow but was switched to green (with a certain other map making the opposite switch) shortly after SJ came out. There are a lot of split opinions on this choice but I think it's a good thing. While it's on the harder side for greens (although I don't think it's the hardest one) it does a really good job at getting new GM players used to corner kicks. I was really worried about corner kicks before this map but after playing I'm really used to them now
lol, it's moments like that where I can't help myself thinking, "now why would the mapper spawn you right there just to jump down and do a wavedash or awkwardly go right first to grab the dream crystal." Note that I still do the exact same thing myself. It just often feels more obvious when you're watching from an outside perspective
1/18 I found that counting the levels as I went for grandmaster was great motivation. Each is a hurdle, good job with this one too, it's challenging for sure! A shame you missed berry 2 here, it's my fave in the collab. I worry that if you do all the easy levels now, you might regret having to do all the hard ones in a row later - they can be exhausting for sure. Good luck all the same, however you choose to tackle it! There's a large handful of levels in grandmaster I'm very very excited to see.
29:48 You can actually make that 4 block walljump without a dash! It leads to a berry room that i think took me almost as long as the rest of the map combined.
Oh my, I did not expect to see Strawberry Jam again so soon! Amazing work on the level and the video, and WOW you figure things out fast - I played dozens of other Expert and GM levels between finishing SJ Expert Lobby and starting SJ Grandmaster Lobby, and you just came in and almost beat my Flipside clear time lol.
Awesome choice for 1! This was my first GM completed, and its still one if my favorites. The berries in particular hold some of the best GM has. Berry 2 specifically is my favorite berry in SJ. Even without the berries, this map is just so fun: perfect amount of routing and tight challenge for a GM level.
I like to see the progress in your gameplays, im a player who have like 230+ hours and almost the only spanish player in Celeste, and im progressing like you, i like to see another person who dont have like, 3000+ hours enjoying this world like me
Good stuff! If you continue with GM, you might want to check out the Speedrun Tool mod which lets you use Savestates (basically, when you're partially through a room, press a button and if you die, you go back to where you were rather than the beginning of the room - great for practicing and learning a room before going for a full completion). I think the large majority of SJ GM players use savestates especially on the harder levels :)
gg fliffside! i got very excited when i saw the notification for this video, i can’t wait to watch you play literally every grandmaster map. you also did very well on fliffside, especially for your first foray into gm (the best difficulty), my casual stats were 1243 deaths and 2:45:00
Fun fact about this level: the music is by the same person who did the music for Darkmoon Ruins! Maybe after SJ, it might be worth checking out. I'll hit up your Patreon for suggestions and such!
also, whenever you feel like you're ready, i would highly recommend playing shattersong. it is a red gm map, but playing it was one of the best experiences i've had with this collab to date. it was also my first gm map

I think flipside is very hard as a green level -- I did all strawberry with only 1 jump button and i did it right after i finished advanced lobby, and it was quite a grind. You might find it easy, and I agree it might be the easiest level with 2 jump button and not getting berry 2 and 3 -- those 2 berries are harder than other screens, especially berry 2. Also I still want to suggest you to do drifting deep as the last yellow level, it might be too early to say that -- but i think most people will agree that is the hardest yellow gm map, especially for new players.
Flipside is definitely the hardest green one if you go for the berries. Kevintechspam might be harder depending on your skillset but I still think flipside holds as the hardest generally.
Normally I'd recommend playing dreep as the first one partially and then take a break halfway through with some other maps but I'm not sure how well that'd work on a let's play format
well chris himself said that it dosent matter if the levels are only getting harderand harder, so i think drifting deep is currently a good last yellow suggestion. we'll see if he changes opinion ofcourse@@Boomerkbom57

With how long dreep is that makes perfect sense though cuz then you can stop at like the 7th room or something and continue later. I would say my list would be like this: 1. Cave of the Crimson Sky - definitely the easiest one imo 2. Belly of the Beast - also somewhat easier just kinda janky 3. Drifting Deep 1st half - do half the map because you’ll get tired of it 4. CMB - I hate cycles (jk this map was actually kinda fun for me idk why) 5. Superluminary - difficult superdash map that’s very fun def one of my fav maps. 6. Drifting deep 2nd half - will have you questioning why the map is not rated red gm.

I finished CMB and now I'm on room 9 of dreep and a few rooms into 74
ok so first of all ggs, but ive noticed you do dream hypers by going down diagonal + jump. fun fact: if you just press your demo button while exiting a dream block you can also get a dream hyper, which is what i do, and i find it much much much easier than doing an actual dream hyper
@@indiegamechris4759 ok so you know how if you press demo on the ground you get a weird fucked up hyper? it just does that. pressing demo while exiting a dream block, no need to jump, gets you a dream hyper. its wayyyy easier for me
@@Shuriport If I press demo on the ground without jumping, I just get a crouched dash. And if I press demo while exiting a dream block without jumping, I just get a horizontal demo.
having full cleared this level, watching you do the complete wrong thing is painful. as you learned in psychokinetic, dreamhypers don't conserve speed, so doing them on the second jump of a dream double jump wont change things. you might get marginally farther because the dash will go faster for a couple of frames, but that's it. the berry you intentionally skipped is yellow or perhaps even red gm. more cornerkicks and more tech, and 2 checkpoints midway through gg!

All of them? Really? I can see CMB and maybe superluminary but all of them?
Fliffside is definitely the hardest green but I can't imagine finding it harder than some yellows like drifting deep
for yellows the average fc time was 1-2 hours, flipside took me 5 (the hardest yellow was dreep that took 4)
