Max didn't need the tow. He can do the sector time towards the first corner without a tow. If you take this time from his first run in Q3, it was still enough to beat Oscar for P1. But seeing the opportunity to get a tow is 1 of the skills of a good F1 driver.

That slipstream was not as beneficial as some people want to say, because he had to break earlier and was a bit quite unsure. It could have help if we were in high speeds corners following the straight tho.

Quali was exhilarating and the relief and emotion Max showed after the pole lap were refreshing. The team worked hard to get his setup right and he repaid them beautifully.
Max might be the king of the road but do not underestimate the team effort.
Max was so stoked that he went on that Sim race and got first place immediately. That boy has petrol in his blood.
3:46 where does the 0.074 difference come from? Taking the separate deltas, I come only to 0.036. Same when adding the sector times and look at that difference.
So where is the additional 0.038 come from?

Perez P12 almost 6 tenths down on Max, while mclaren and Ferarri pairs were separated by very small margins. The Mclaren and ferarris were very much the better cars in this session, and once again, Max makes the difference. If you put Leclerc, Norris, in the RB20, they woul;d be slower then they are in their own cars. Nobody would even come close to be able to handle his setups and steering sensitivity. Perez has been consistent P2 all season when the car is working properly, where was he today? Let me know when Leclerc or Norris ever get a pole in their careers while their teammate is in P12 on pure pace, its not happening.

Red Bull improved the balance of the car multiple times on Saturday, up to and including qualification. This was a must on their side. Max did get a toe from Nico, but made a big mistake on the last corner. Overall Max and both McLarens were equal in speed I think
Uhhh did you forget perez messed his car up in practice? Same thing with alonso
Max negated the tow with the error in the 2nd to last turn
Not completely - even he admitted the tow gave him an overall boost
Not to say Max didn’t do an incredible job - was an absolute barnstormer of a lap
Nico and Max traded slip streams.
Nico said Max gave him a slipstream in Q2 and maybe also in Q3, and Nico returned the favor.
max didnt need the tow, his first run in Q3 were he had no slipstream, this was enough for pole, plus my boy piastri got a grid penalty

Yes I think so. Though the balance of the car improved a lot compared to the disastrous Friday, it was still not to his liking, not able to fully turn the car 100% like he wants to
