ended with the presence of the 30,000 strong Arab
peace army (composed mainly of Syrians). The
gigantic problems of reconstruction loom ahead, but
will the disputing factions unite to build the future?
This report looks at the political, social and economic
issues that have now got to be grasped.

My wife lived through this entire nightmare. :( When I first started going to Beirut, back in the 90s, only a 3rd of the city had been rebuilt. I have photos of many areas of war-torn buildings. No photo, no video will ever do it justice of how bad it was. But don't knock that black market. I loved it. I could get just about anything for just a couple bucks. Made them happy, made me happy.
