Nobody would of thought he was arrogant if he said himself for goalscoring midfielder, in fact I would of rated it more for pure honesty, let's be realistic Frank Lampard is by far the greatest goalscoring midfielder ever ,nobody comes close for consistency
Pretty much, he has I think the highest goal scoring record as a CM of all time.
@Gnom he didn't play holding midfield at all fernandinho did toure was box to box and your not reading my comment, I said for consistency and toure only did that one season while lampard scored 20+ in all comps most seasons, and plus lampard scored 22 in 09/10 season

goals for 11 seasons straight. He is by far the most consistent goalscoring midfielder ever. Great bloke as well.

He doesn’t have to pick himself for shooting it’s called respect and being humble and choosing another great any of these could have gone in multiple categories. There are even players he’s missed out that are regarded as the some of the greatest midfielders. The ones he has chosen are clearly players frank holds in high regard.

You need a category of ‘midfield brain’ or something similar. Xavi is the best midfielder to ever play the game and he wasn’t the quickest, didn’t have the best engine, wasn’t the best goal scorer, wasn’t the strongest but he had the best football brain and that counts more than any of the other attributes mentioned.

I honestly was a bit surprised kante wasn’t in this I think he’s one of the best players of his generation in his position
Kante sure is one of the best players of his generation but when it comes to the traits that have been asked for I can see how Kante wasn´t in there. Kante doesn´t score goals, he´s not a leader, pace and passing are great but not to great and while I consider him strong for his height, taller players will almost always have the advantage. Kante could´ve been picked as the Engine but I wouldn´t blame anyone for picking Vieira over him.
