On June 29, 2024, Mr. Thang Viyutda, Director of the Engineering Department of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, led a professional officer of the Department in cooperation with the Department of Water Resources and Meteorology of Kampong Thom Province to inspect the progress of the construction project of Peam Reservoir Dam in Msakrang Commune, Stong District. Kampong Thom Province. This is according to the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology.
Please be informed that the Peam Reservoir construction project covers 11 villages of Mya Krang commune, Stong district, Kampong Thom province. The main activities of the project are: 1) Construction of a 2,000-meter-long dam, 2) Construction of a spillway, and 3) Construction of a sluice gate.
Mr. Thang Viyuda said that so far the progress of the Peam Reservoir project has reached about 35%. On that occasion, the director of the department also instructed the officers performing work at the site to continue to pay attention to quality and technique in accordance with technical standards.
The director of the Department of Engineering pointed out that this project can increase the irrigation capacity of 626 hectares of wet season and 1949 hectares of dry season, as well as 15 hectares of mixed crops and about 2426 families.
