Those old buildings had so much character and were built to reflect pride in the town, The Newer buildings look bland in comparison. I love Whitby and I would have loved to see it as it was in past times although some majestic buildings are still there.
I spent a couple weeks in the Whitby bucket back in the early 70's. I found out my old Scout master was a guard there. What a surprise.
