great video! toronto is a gem and it just screams ART!!! everywhere you turn. a lasting impression was meeting a couple who did a masterpiece in chalk in a square downtown. they figured it might last a week. people would walk on it, dogs would do their thang, the sky would leak water. no matter. just a moment in time to enjoy, celebrate and share art.
Thanks so much for checking out The Power Plant during your trip to Toronto! We love the vlog! Hoping to see you around for our new summer 2022 exhibitions, on view from May 20 till August 28 💛⚡
My very first visit to a museum in Toronto. Great paintings, installions, photographs and videos in the museums and galleries. Jaume Plensa’s sculpture is monumental. So is Sandra Brewster’s sculpture By Way of Communion.
Never heard of Matthew Wong before, and in the first minutes, before the presenter talked about his life, knew nothing of him. Nor has my life been anything like his. Yet, with the very first of his works, I was taken away. Then I learned more, and was overwhelmed.
My fav. mural in Toronto is on the Flatiron building. You'll also enjoy the view of the core of the city from there - well worth a visit. It's on 49 Wellington St. E. There's also a really cool fountain dedicated to dogs there. Also the small commercial art gallery Beau-Xi Gallery (340 Dundas) right across the street from the AGO always has excellent work happening. Glad you're in town!
Thank you for all you’ve doing. I’m an abstract artist. Would you please make a suggestion to galleries I should go to when in NYC next time. An area like Chelsea, Tribeca. East Village, ect. Thanks again!
So nice to see you were in our city, glad you enjoyed your trip. I apologize for how expensive our goddamn city is. Some other good galleries worth visiting are Olga Korpor and Christopher Cutts as well as the Arsenal in the west end. Maybe on your next visit. Keep up the good work, always enjoy checking in with you each week.

the tootsie roll thing is cool. But if he has a more specific subtext in mind why choose that candy? Does anyone know what tootsie rolls have to do with the gay community and or aids?
I remember when Power Plant was the premiere non collecting contemporary gallery in the country...SERIOUSLY good. Sadly, it has devolved into a talentless, generic woke soiled mess, like the rest of Toronto.
Urgh, the utter misery of the Toronto art scene… It’s either woke identity politics or pretentious conceptual art. No one cares and the city is culturally irrelevant and we wonder why… Pretty dire situation for the 4th largest city in North America and financial capital of the country. PS: you said “AOC” instead of “AGO” @25:55. Freudian slip? 😂
Love love Matthew Wong’s work💜🙏❤️
Your voice sooths me like warm tea with lemon and honey.
More conceptual, non-commercial work please! Yes.
Amazing art Galleries in Toronto. Thanks
Thanks Mary, your videos are very helpful, easy to watch.

Thank you for showing Toronto. It is one of the places I am considering moving in the next couple of years, so it was great to see a free preview!
Awesome report/ tour again. Thanks so much!
MOCA and those smaller galleries are in the west end. Great to see Toronto. Thanks!
Thanks for visiting our city, the AGO is an outstanding gallery.
Mary looks baked in that first shot. I too partake before going to view art.
I was not, but I just woke up and was super tired from the week
Terrific, Terrific !! Thank you. Okay so we are all moving north. The city feels and looks so much more Humane.
All of your time, focus, passion and hard work has paid dividends. The films are terrific.
Great Job Mary! We have a city wide festival every year called Nuit Blanche. I would be interested to see what you think about it.
Super nice! Thank you very much.

Thank you. ❤️Toronto.
Good comments about the installations and paintings.
In Canada, Montreal has the bigger art scene - but this was a lovely review of some of the Toronto spots!

Also thanks for the suggestions!
Great
the one thing about bad art is that it makes good art look incredible!@
