@@wetoart9471 i know I'm just connecting a couple dots from your first comment for possibilities in the show, also do you know where I can read more about the Aztec gods its actually pretty interesting.
Prepare yourself for a wall of text: Thing about the Aztec gods is that they wanted to create a race of creatures sapient and subservient enough to venerate, serve and worship them, not too disimilar from the gods of various other mythologies. The end result was humans. The most striking difference regarding the Aztec pantheon is that while gods like Yahweh has flooded the world but let some live, the Aztec gods have wiped Humanity from the face of Creation not once, not twice, but four times, for various reasons, usually because Humanity failed to appease the Gods, became too powerful or because the judgement of Tezaclipota(The one blowing smoke from his nose) deemed humans unworthy, or failures, only for Quetzalcoatl (The child) to bring us back. So a vast majority of them don't 'really' care about us. We're easy to replace should we prove inadequate. We just exist to act as pawns in their games. Heck, in Aztec mythology, apes/monkeys are the humans from the Second Generation who were cursed for failing to show proper respect to the Gods, and the Fourth was turned into fish when the Water Goddess drowned the world because she was crying for 51 days. As for their obsession with blood: Aztec mythology is all about blood sacrifice in some form, fatal or non-fatal. To sustain the Sun-of which there has been 4- offerings of hearts and blood must be made to it, the current one being the God of War, Huitzilopochtl. If he does not recieve enough sacrifices in his cosmic war with the Moon Goddess Coyolxauhqui and her Tzitzimitl, the Stars, the God of War and the Daytime Sun will perish, Humanity's Fith Generation-that's us- will be wiped out again, and-if he hasn't lost his patience with our constant failures- Quetzalcoatl will create a Sixth Generation of humans.. until they also fail. Or the Moon and Stars will wipe out the Pantheon. One of the two. So the plot of this cartoon revolves around this myth of the Five Suns, but the twist here is that the God of the Dead, Mictlantecuhtli is stealing sacrifices from the current Sun for himself, and must be stopped before Huitzilopochtl dies. But the Gods can't use the Olmec(Think precurssors to the Aztecs and Mayans) gates because obsidian withers godflesh, so they need to use humans to close them. Tezaclipota thinks humans are weak and can't handle the task of thwarting Mictlantecuhtli's 'thievery', a task better suited for Gods who can't even operate the Olmec Gates and thus wants to just get it over with and wipe out Humanity on the Equinox. Quetzalcoatl on the other hand wants to show him that even the weakest of us is stronger than Tezaclipota gives us credit for, and as such is making a bet on Tezaclipota's share of blood sacrifices, which means that if he wins, he lives, and if he dosn't, he probably dies. The reverse is true for Tezaclipota. TL:DR God of the Dead is bad for buisness, a cycle of destruction and rebirth is doing what it always does and Humanity's fate is being weighed on a bet that is essentialy a battle between someone who hates/distrusts Mankind and wants to replace us with another, more 'fitting' version of ourselves, and someone who adores us as we currently are.

Greek and Norse For Greek- Healios, God of the Sun For Norse- Loki Even though these two are really well known, ancient Sumerian mythology is also really interesting, as well as Christianity as there are many books that were written that didn’t make it into the Bible we know today. Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl are brothers but they're always at odds with each other due their opposed views, on the show they reference the myth of the four Suns, the beef between them grew because they were rulers of the first and second sun but ultimately coup one another.

TL:DR God of the Dead is bad for buisness, a cycle of destruction and rebirth is doing what it always does and Humanity's fate is being weighed on a bet that is essentialy a battle between someone who hates/distrusts Mankind and wants to replace us with another, more 'fitting' version of ourselves, and someone who adores us as we currently are.
i swear ben 10 fans would love this
How so?
I swear one of the god sounds like egoraptor, i must be tripping.
No, you're correct! Egoraptor is playing Tezcatlipoca here.
He is, and it’s such an odd choice considering a lot of things.
i guess blood of zeus and equinox have in common
Blood of Zeus = Greek Mythology
Onyx Equinox = Aztec Mythology
More please
its a good day to be indigenous
Does this have more than 1 episode yet?
This anime looks interesting
Thats isnt anime
Yea from watching the animation.
Then please check it out
Not an anime. Just a regular western anime inspired cartoon. Thought the animation was a dead giveaway but I guess it’s not to some people.
This type of animation doesn’t seem like an anime one.
woah guys who brought sherlock holmes in here‼️‼️
Well yeah, because it’s not.
Its got one of the same studios that worked on all of those straight to DVD justice league movies, and castlevania, made using more western animation tricks and techniques. So yeah, it's not really anime
Who is that Lady in The end?
A goddess or one of Olmec people?
I think she is villian.
Sorry for my bad english.
She is Mictecacihuatl (the death goddess) she’s the wife of Mictlantecuhtli, the big death god that destroyed the city

Anyone else think that the main character will turn out like Kratos in the end and swear vengeance on the gods. If so; PLACE YOUR BETS, COMMENT IF YOU THINK EZEL WILL AND THE END OF THE SERIES SWEAR VENGEANCE.
P.s at the beginning of the episode anyone have any idea who the first two gods who popped up were named. The ones who tried to fight the monsters.
@Mullerornis any idea why Xoo looks like a giant fly if he represents earthquakes?
In your opinion, if you watched the character trailer for onyx equinox, the second trailer and heard what ezel said about humanity, do you think he will turn out like Kratos at the end of the series.
Wait what.... that was cool though
My only issue with this show was that Izel is so annoying
This show is underrarted
Shut up lol
How many episodes has been aired lol
You don't know the meaning of underrated
@@rajsaha7885 exactly only a few episodes are put and people are calling it trash without even giving it a chance. That is the definition of underrated. It's a fine show that people trash on for no real reason other than spite.
for anyone reading this, what's your favorite mythology and god associated with it?
My favorite mythology is Aztec (what this show is based off of) and the god Tezcatlipoca (the guy with black and blue stripes on his face)
Greek and Norse
For Greek- Healios, God of the Sun
For Norse- Loki
Even though these two are really well known, ancient Sumerian mythology is also really interesting, as well as Christianity as there are many books that were written that didn’t make it into the Bible we know today. Hopefully we’ll find those more about these religions.
Egyptian mythology --> Horus
My favorite mythology is Egyptian and my favorite god from Egyptian mythology is Ra
Huitzilopochtli another Aztec god also love Egyptian and Greek mythology but yes Huitzilopochtli it's the best
-Tezcatlipoca.
-Quetzalcóatl
1:16 Is it a titan or is that my mind??
What is the difference between anime and cartoon I am really confuses
Anime is made by a Japanese studio. Technically in Japan, anime is referred to as cartoons but internationally Japanese cartoons are anime.
anime : animation with japanese style dude. This serial is technically anime
HANSON!!!!
A animação desse anime está insana
It's a cartoon right
shuffle master 🤤🤤🤤
So they are totally cool just making this a casual duel to the death. Is there some beef between these guys in Aztec mythology or is being a god so boring you can just throw your life away on a whim?
Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl are brothers but they're always at odds with each other due their opposed views, on the show they reference the myth of the four Suns, the beef between them grew because they were rulers of the first and second sun but ultimately coup one another.
Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca are pretty well regarded as rivals in the Mesoamerican mythos. One particular episode in their history is Quetzalcoatl literally knocking Tezcatlipoca out of the sky with a club and taking his place as the sun.
wait a sec is this an anime and if it is where can I watch it
The voice actors are ok but I prefer the spanish version.
Ya the voice acting is very emotionless and stiff in my opinion
Is Spanish supposed to be it’s original spoken language ?
@@ricardofigueroa38 nope that would be Nahuatl my dude but i doubt many people would understand it other than local Nahuatl speakers
@@manny-hj6cl oh I meant the show’s language, and doing a bit of research it seems that it’s English
@@ricardofigueroa38 ohh sorry my bad bro hehe
LEMME SIMP TEZCATLIPOCA REAL QUICK! DAMN HE'S HOT!!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤤🤤🤤
The little one is quescalcotal then who is the tall one
Tezcatlipoca the black, the smoking mirror, god of darkness, jaguars and animal shapeshifting, eternal rival of Quetzalcoatl and the first sun.
@@edahiguajardo9015 he is also the god of judgement which explains why he wants to destroy humains and recreat them by the way what quetzalcoatl brother name
The Aztec Loki
Am I the only one who was completely confused?
In start yes.
But now i get some.
Kinda weird that a anima Japan website made a English cartoon
I'm here .
Is this an anime?
what's with all the blood sacrifice and the talk about blood draught, what are the Egyptian gods ,vampires
These are Mesoamerican gods, it a sort of food chain, gods bless humans in return they give them blood.
Kratos would wipe the floor with these gods
Yes , he can defeat this guys easy , but kratos is nothing against of Mictlantecutli , the Lord of the death
@@Lucian_Galvan369 true
These gods are no better the guy high School gods
This is weird, it's not an anime. Or is it dubbed in Japanese.
Just like avatar.
It's a cartoon, a low budget one I guess, the creator it's a mexican woman (Sofía) who have worked on CN projects in the past.
I was not expecting them to speak English
Yeah Its in all languages on Crunchyroll but the original show is in English
