Now, the beauty about this song is not that he is telling you to forget about the girl. Quite the opposite. He is singing from the heartbroken perspective. He is saying how all of his friends are trying to convince him that she is just another girl, there are plenty out there, that he could simply get any other girl whenever he wants (reeling them in left to right). all of his friends are telling him this, trying to cheer him up. While he himself is trying to convince himself that he is better off alone and that she really is just another girl. But then he cant sleep at night and nothing feels the same as it used to and he simply does not want another girl. Because to him, just like to many of us here, he/she is not just another girl/guy. It is truly about how you interpret it really and i fell in love with this interpretation because it just gets me. :) Hope i made this song better for anybody out there that bothers to read this ^-^

i remember i hated shot at the night when it first came out and now i listen to it everywhere. i think all killers songs grow on you and thats why theyre such classics, the whole band is getting better with time. plus being in a band means you have to explore your sound, if they were still making mr brightside-esque music then they would have a lot less fans. theyve just matured

I think this song combines the grand nature of Sam's Town (atmospheric string synths and heavily-layered production) with Hot Fuss's tightly-wound, dark feel (that bassline at 1:11 and the electronic-sounding kick). Overall, I think this song is a great blend of what The Killers have done so far.

I know now it hurts to love a girl, especially if that girl happens to be a good friend. It was last Friday, and I needed to tell her how I felt because these feelings were killing me. So before 6th period started, I found her walking to her class and caught up her and I told her that I loved her. And she just gave me a really gorgeous smile, then the bell rang and she said we'll talk later. This week comes by and she didnt want to talk to me. So I was very upset and confused that she didnt want to talk to me. I sent her a text saying if you dont want to be with friends with me, still even of what I've said to you, fine so be it. I regret SO much of sending her that text, I wasnt in my right mind. I sent an apology text for my ridiculous behavior. No response. So I text a Hey a few times during the week. No response. So I had no choice but to call her(she didnt answer) but left a message saying I was very sorry, and stupid and downright wrong and was hoping she would forgive me and still have a chance of being friends again. I feel Im the one to blame for wrecking our friendship. I hate loving a friend, and I didnt know it would be this painful. I'm sorry Lilly.
