I am older than you and like to live vicariously through your videos. I also like your humor when you guys are clowning on the creek 🤣 its relaxing when life is stressful. But I could watch you make jewelry just as easy.
i agree ; its growth brother. continuing to expand on the knowledge and use it for other crafts. I mean Prospector/ Jeweler. Same thing only different. I love it chris.
Like most people who watch your channels, I watch your videos for you and not just the shiny stuff. Your adventures, your banter, doing what a lot of people would love to do but can't for whatever reason. I can't wait to see you make jewellery, and where it came from. Here's an idea for another line on the Old Mouldy, learn woodturning and make some of the Betea (!!) Pans to sell. 😂😂
There is a whole variety of craft jewelry findings that hold tiny things and then you can make a necklace. Little globes, little vials, crystal cases similar to watch cases that those tiny gemstones would be great in. Sometime you add mineral oil so they float
Years ago I watched a demonstration of melting and pouring a gold ingot at Sovereign Hill. It was supposedly melted in a gas furnace. I approached the guy doing the demonstration after most of the audience had left and commented that I'd never seen a gas furnace melt anything that fast - it took about 15 minutes to melt the 5kg ingot. He admitted that the gas flame was just for show the real heating was done with an induction furnace using a huge amount of power and showed me the coil which was hidden from view. He said when they initially tried doing it using gas it took half a day to melt it and that was too long for a 1/2 hour demo.
I love being on a creek prospecting with my buddy. Just listening to the creek and nature. Of course, the occasional talking shit to each other tops it off.
I have had the exact same dream since I was 10 years old. I became a jeweller and now I'm struggling to find time to get out and find any gold and gems to make anything. If you ever come to Queensland and go prospecting at gympie or kilkivan or anywhere in the southeast of qld. I would love to tag along and learn with someone on the creek.
The hardest part for making the jewelry will be alloying the gold (if your planning on making gold wire for some of it) but I’m sure you’ll figure it out your getting smarter in your old age 😬 great stream someday I’ll be able to try some of those black sands and reedy creek gold. Ps there’s a super easy way to separate your garnets from your material easier than the magnet…. Take an old cookie sheet the bigger one and drill a 3/8-1/2 inch hole in one corner put your black sands / cons (a couple teaspoons) on the opposite end. tip it slightly towards the end of the pan you drilled a hole in but to the corner opposite the hole and tap the cookie sheet a couple times the garnets being mostly round will roll quite fast to the corner so don’t tip it to far or they will roll out once you have some in the corner and you can see there is nothing but garnets you can tip the pan to the corner with the hole and they will run out into a pan or container of your choice repeat until your cons are empty of garnets and your left with a nice clean pan or container of garnets 😬 you’ll be amazed at fast this is I learned it from a guy that sent you a package from New York in the early part of last year although he never heard if you received it or not….. did you receive it?…. Enjoyed the stream Thanks for sharing. See you on the next one.👍🏼👊🏼
Most of us that watch your channel came for the gold and stayed for the gold, but stayed for the Chris. Any viewers you lose by doing jewelry on here will just get replaced by new people who will come for the jewelry and stay for the Chris.. 😂🎉
You are still a young man, I'm nearly 70 in 2 months, I travel around in a coaster bus and just want to prospect my way from palmerville in the noth to Beechworth to meet up with you and Gazza. In the year.
Vivar and Timu, as well as a bunch of the stuff we get from Harbor freight here in the states is all the same stuff. Comes from the same factories and there’s a lot of information out there that links it with slave labor in China. Most of these companies are very well known for stealing intellectual property and designs from other companiesfor their own benefit. It’s a bad deal all around. I’m not saying I haven’t purchased a few bits or pieces here or there, but it’s definitely something to be aware of.
Have you ever been asked to do demonstrations for kids in school.... motivational lessons for adults.... I know one Jail here in Australia that the inmates were taught how to fish and other things like bush skills.... lol teaching them how to make money with out stealing it, by panning for gold...
Dan Hurd is quitting and you're going to keep going or I'ma fly over there and bring my grandson's. There huge fans 🤩 if you're looking for gold or Jem's we don't care we just enjoy your videos. Chris I have followed you for years and my grandson's started watching you with me. We're planning on going to Arizona this summer. My Army 🪖 buddy owns a couple gold mines and he wants us to come. If you ever make it to Arizona, my buddy would take you out to his mines. One is underground and the others are ancient rivers. He has a shaft dug down about 150ft, that's where the hard pack is and he ran into red damp dirt! His biggest is just over 1/2 oz nugget. Thanks Mate 🧉
It’s mighty hot over here in Arizona in the summer watch the grandsons for heat stroke they won’t notice it like I didn’t notice the first time I got it in my youth and now i get it easier and easier. Congrats to your army friend finding nice size nuggets.

I'm trying to go live. I just started my channel. I have been watching your videos for about two years. Ilove your videos and your dog
What's up Chris I've been following you since you started gold hunting I have learned a lot from you thank you so much 😊

You can put the small crucibles inside some of the larger induction coils and get it to bead.
Sorry, missed the live stream by almost an hour. Not much to say, except thanks for all the info over the years.
My best spot thus far is loaded with mustard gold, damn this hobby, if you know you know. Stay frosty, Chris.

Sorry I missed the live. I'm watching it now though. 🤗 p.s. I think it's Yo-lawn-duh. 😅👍😉
Have you ever came up to the hunter river to see if there is any gold
Take one of your “Little Drug Baggies” and put it over the magnet it will clean up a lot easier.

Can you show your regrets about visiting New Zealand, South Island,
I'm sure that you already heard, but Dan Hurd mentioned you in his latest video. 🤗
If Tin melts at 450F degrees, and gold melts at 1900F degrees, is it possible to use heat to separate the Tin and Gold?
👍🍺 thanks for the info

Hi
Are we live? Not live… never mind.
❤
Hi Chris, my name's Mick. I can't speak for Yolanda, but if you send me some gold, then I'll forgive you if you pronounce my name wrong!
