Whether the tagged wire goes to red or black on the Claro switch depends on where you are installing the Claro switch. If you are installing at the primary switch, i.e. the switch that goes to the breaker panel, then tagged wire goes to black. If you are installing at the secondary switch, i.e. the switch that goes to the load (light), then tagged wire goes to red (follow this video). Nothing is wrong here.

So the tagged common wire goes to red or black on the Claro switch. Because the red as specified in the video doesn’t work. The black (as specified in your web based tutorial does).

Just figured this out about an hour ago after troubleshooting the problem.
Should have just read the comments first and saved myself time.

Agree… same problem I ran into relying on the video. Used your finding and it works now.

So do we not need an accessory switch or we do

Mm, it’s kind of disappointing that the accessory switch doesn’t have the indicator light.
I’m looking forward to it anyway, but that feels like a real miss.

Can you install a Caséta by Lutron Claro switch in a 4 way where the remaining two switches are mechanical switches?

Hi! The Claro accessory switch would work with 3-way or multi-location (up to 10).

Any videos on how to install diva in a 4way setting? Would I need a diva, and 2 claro accessory switches?

If it just so happens that one of the 3-way switches has all 3 wires going directly to the 4-way box, then you could connect the switches in those two boxes in a 3-way configuration, and treat them like a single switch. Unlikely, though.

I found no jumper wire with my switch nor was this set up gone over in such detail in the provided instructions. Disappointing. I will try again but suggest you rework provided instructions and go over the packaging of all your switches

I also had no jumper included in 1 of my 2 packages.

Hello! When you opened the packaging, there should be a yellow wire. That would be your jumper cable. If this was not found in your packaging, our team at Technical Support can assist you. You can reach them at 1-844-588-7661 or support@lutron.com.

I bought 2 and they didn’t come with the yellow wire. Fortunately I had some wire to use.

@@Lutron-Electronics you must be crazy if you think I'm going to go through the hassle of calling you just to ship me 3 inches of wire. Fix your packaging, none of your switches come with a jumper.

This video is wrong. The hot wire from the wallbox should be connected to the BLACK wire, not the red one.
