- Today's video shows how to make a DIY bookshelf for your home office or homeschool room. This DIY project can be done in a weekend. Having one large simple bookshelf instead of many smaller bookshelves is a great way to organize your home. Our tutorial will show you how to build a bookcase and Do-It-Yourself rather than buying a bookshelf from the store. You can use wood and stain to create this bookcase in your home. Let Pink Tool Girl help you with creating a customized bookshelf for your home decor.

Do you like stain or paint better?
Finally something simple...All other videos are too technical and require too many tools, cuts and ripping boards.
What a wonderful idea!! I, myself prefer the wood grain if I have a choice. My father worked a lot with wood and built dozens of items (including the log house we live in). I guess that is where my leaning towards the wood grain comes from!!
That is awesome!
truly incredible! I llove the end result and this is wayyyy prettier than anything you could find at a store
Thanks so much.
Thanks! So funny that good bookshelves are so hard to buy. DIY for the win :)
They look great! I especially liked the handsome little helper you recruited!😍
Me too!!
What a pleasant video have a wonderful day!!!
I love to both staining & painting!
Yes, they each have their place.
Those turned out sooo nice!! Great job!!
Thank you!! 😊
Fits well into my space, I painted the back green. It's very easy to customize just the back if that's something you want to do. I would suggest sanding it first before painting, I got a little impatient. The shelves th-cam.com/users/postUgkxM8H4CjCb79vzeyvgaFMdzmLm88oVFPMkare pretty small so keep that in mind if you're going to have it horizontal that some books won't fit. I like the snug look that it has. Good small shelf if you don't have much space, but not too small. Simple to put together, though you'll need your own tools, a screwdriver and a mallet/hammer, it's easiest to do with another person.
Loved the little corner layout
Thank you! The shelf has been a much needed solution to the room.
I think looks great. And the boy it's learning good skills. Congratulations 🎊
Absolutely love this - so much inspo for my own home office ;-)
Awesome! Thank you!
I love your videos & tips!
Thanks so much!
Really inspirational! What are the wood you used?
I am new to DIY projects. This will be my first project. Can you help me with the shopping list? What size planks will I need?
This looks great! You’re so handy and creative, I wish I had some of that too.
I'm sure it is in you, you just have to exercise that muscle! You can do it!
Vaya mojón de estantería...
good job . Well done
Thank you!
I would go with stain also
Good 👍 👍 👍 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯
What size boards did you use?? We are a homeschool family and a book addict over here.
We used 2x10 so most books fit nicely. Being a homeschool family, you know you can sometimes get the random oversized map or speciality book so I stack both vertically and horizontally which works nicely.
How to make bookshelf stand up, not falling down away from the wall? Did you nail down to the wall?
Yes- we used several brackets to brace it against the wall.
10:54 you did a great job. I'm also a small creator 😅
Hilarious, thanks!
What type of wood is that? And where to buy it please
It was pine and it was standard 2" x 8" lumber that can be found at any lumber store.
I don't see the lift in the description like the video says...
Very fine. Mom
What, you don't like wood grain? eck! :) I love wood grain. I've done both paint and stain. I prefer stain by far, but there is a neat look you can get if you use a light paint, where the wood grain still comes through.
I typically prefer paint but we are still learning about stain. This went great so we may grow towards that direction.
how hard is this info please thanks so much
This is how NOT to do it unless you like poisoning your family with chemicals. LOL
You did not show what you did at he bottom with the base boards sticking out. Not flush with the wall. How did you anchor side boards o the wall? Guess I gave up watch again.
Dude has his tool belt on backwards..lol
I will try to do it with Woodglut plans.
