He is right. When I was pregnant women tried to scare me into believing that childbirth would be hell but I cut them off. I began studying meditation, I made a musical playlist that comfort me through my childbirth. I learned how to take calm deep breaths (not the panic breathing you see on tv), I had a big yoga ball I sat on and rolled around on, I visualized how beautiful my baby would look, I seen the look in his eyes. The doctors and nurses were shocked. They raved about how well I did during my childbirth. They said they never seen such a calm birth and they asked me for tips on how I did it. Listening to this Alan Watts lecture confirms why I wasn’t in extreme amounts of pain, its bc I believed that child birth was in fact not painful and it was a beautiful experience. Realistically you are not supposed to be laying down in pain your supposed to be slowdancing, walking, and when its time you squat and push the baby out. Laying women down and hooking them up to a bunch of machines is actually unnatural.
