    I would say the food quality in japan whether frozen or snacks are so delicious and tasty high quality ingredients that is why cost of living is so expensive as well..

    listening to the sounds in the supermarket makes me nostalgic and kind of sad because I grew up in Japan and I would always help my mother go grocery shopping, and now that I don't live in Japan anymore, It makes me proud as a Japanese.

    Love seeing all the unique products in Japan. Wish we had “coolish” in the US- looks so yummy! And, of course those jellys! I’m so jealous of the markets there- so beautifully displayed and such wide variety! No doubt I could spend hours just exploring! Thanks so much for sharing all the wonderful food, fun family time, and beauty of Japan. Hope someday to visit there!

    I've always been interested in Japanese culture, only once have I been there. These videos capture the order, discipline, and calm that I felt when I was there.
    I was on a Shinkansen when I was 20, as a young man, and had a bento box. The business man next to me offered to take my rubbish. I was struck by his social responsibility. I'm Australian, and I respect the civility and culture of a country so much older than mine. It shines through, and I am transfixed by it.
    Thank you for these videos. They are everyday activities but what shines through is beautiful, the spirit of being in the moment.
    Well done 👍

      @LinnainJapan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wow! That was very kind of the business man! Thank you for sharing your episode with me🎶 it’s very common we carry our trash or rubbish until we found a rubbish bin and throw according to categories!
      Really, Japan is a place with nice manner and order, making it very easy and comfortable to live 🎶

    I can't believe all the tofu! In my supermarket, we are lucky to have 2; soft style and firm!! I visited Japan when I was a teenager then lived there for 3 years in my 20s. I miss it but I don't miss the constant noise from salesmen, announcements, politicians, etc. When a friend from Japan visited me in Florida, he was amazed at how quiet our neighborhood is!

      The U.S. is living in the past? Where have you been?! Lol… If you’re talking about her scanning the bar codes on her groceries, we have that too in the U.S.! Have for awhile, but like she in her comment, only one supermarket has that technology. There’s all kinds of Apps for grocery shopping while in the store or to order online. I don’t know where you have been, but the U.S. has had that for a few years now. There’s so much great technology for awhile. It’s not living in the future, we’re all living in the present, that doesn’t mean the past, every time something is invented for our use with technology, it’s during the time we’re here on Earth. Why even bash the U.S. if you live here? If you hate it here or think we’re living in the Stone Age, then move to Japan! You’ll see that they are just like the U.S. when it comes to technology. I swear, every time a person from the U.S. watches a video from Japan or another country, they bash the U.S., if you hate here, leave. Even Japan has their past they embrace and culture as we do in the U.S. Pay attention to what we have here in America that’s good and helpful for everyone when it comes to technology. Smh. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@doux201 As individuals we don’t always have a choice. For a long time I refused to use the self service auto scan checkouts for that very reason but then the supermarket switched to ALL automated checkouts. It was a case of using them or going without my shopping. When I spoke to one of the floor staff she said it was company policy, but at least the checkout staff had been used elsewhere in the store instead and not terminated. When I emailed the company they said it had been done because they couldn’t get enough staff! Apparently very few people want to work in that sector these days.

    I noticed many items are smaller than here in the UK. That has to be healthier. Also there is no way I would put uncovered vegetables or fruit straight into a basket in my local supermarket. The baskets are filthy and you would probably become ill!

    Hey I'm also planning to move to tokyo (for about a year ) ! I'm now trying to calculate my monthly cost.. How much do you spent each month per person ?

    • @LinnainJapan
      @LinnainJapan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi! I am happy to know you are coming soon! Um.... it depends... Eating outside for lunch cost about 1k USD, dinner about 2~3K USD. If you cook every day, living cost will be cut of a lot. As for us, I spent about 10K only for fresh groceries like meat, fish, vegetable and fruit, for our family of 4.
      I am sorry I can't give you an exactly answer. But please ask again, I will be happy to share my insight ❤😊

    • @LinnainJapan
      @LinnainJapan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I am very sorry!!! I wrote wrongly ☝️
      Lunch is about 1k, dinner is about 2,3k in Japanese Yen!!! Not USD💦💦💦
      Silly me 😭

    • @dilara9899
      @dilara9899 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Letsgo12928 I searched through the Internet and looked at prices. If you cook home, buy at cheap stores and cook japanese dishes. 30k is already enough. Go right before the store closes, there are so many discounts and buy at discounters (you can find at in the Internet!)

    I thought fruits and vegetables are expensive. Here it's absurd to buy a pack of tomatoes in such a low price!
    Anyway, nothing of the supermarket service, or the payment method, which are also important.
    Plastic bags? No thanks, I saw a lot of plastic wraps of the products, which is so bad.
