Great sounding and stellar amps and playing. The Mezzabarba took it for me. I was thinking about getting one but found a good deal on an Elmwood Modena 60, and after having it a while, it just didn't do it for me. Now I just need to get rid of a couple more amps and I'm getting a Skill 30 :) Nice video! Thanks foe making me want one :)
Finally got my skill 30(also have the friedman) and tho the smallbox plexi side is good-the mezzabarba is the most versatile amp i've ever played(lotsa 1 trick ponies,)but this amp is.......wow!
Hi! Have you ever tried or know the new Pink Taco v2 combo? How do you think it would compare with the Mezzabarba combo? Which one do you think has the most mids and gain? Im more into modded Van Halen territory
thanks for posting! having owned a small box, the mezzabarba is actually one of the amps I‘m considering... whats your verdict? small box vs skill (vs mzero)? How does the skill compare in bass response? It seems sooo small... ;)
mads nørholm rohde the Skill is less compressed than the Smallbox and has more gain. The skill is like the MZero little brother. Through the same cabinet they are similar. I wanted the combo for portability.
Joe Dzialak and comparing the skill to the mzero... which one would you prefer (when portability is not important) I have a great offer for a used mzero overdrive, so cost would be about the same.

Skill by a long short. Friedman sounded to compressed I thought.
agree and I rather use a compressor pedal separate from the amp to use it rather than in the amp itself.
The Mezzabarrba sounds more open and articulate !
Both sound killer..but the 3D clarity and width of the mezzabarba wins for me..great vid

I haven’t played one yet, but I would think the new pink taco v2 would be perfect for Van Halen
Mezzabarba sounds better but not really a fair test being that the Mezzabarba uses a V30 and the Friedman uses a Creamback 65
Hard to be objective : the mic from the phone is too far from the Friedman.
Both amps are next to each other. Maybe my leg was blocking the Friedman.

The size is smaller but it does not sound small. The V30 really works well in the Skill combo.

mads nørholm rohde M Zero, for sure. The separate extra boost on ch 1 on the M Zero is incredible.

Friedman and his products are as phony as him. Mezzabarba is a real high gain tube amp period.
He's a dirtbag, no doubt, but he makes killer amps.
