- Touhou meets classic Castlevania. What is a Touhou? A miserable little pile of Point Items. But enough talk, have at you!

In spite of the gritty, Castlevania-like vibe the game gives off, Remilia's unexpected explanation brings everything back to Touhou, lol
"rinse and repeat until meiling admits defeat" is perfect
I hope one day they will make HD version of this game. Everything is so perfect.
Your prayers have been heard.
@@ShouAmaterasu Wait really?
@@ShouAmaterasu when? Can you link it?

Suika's ball and chain looks like the triforce.
Also 15:25 sounds like my kind of party.
Aaaaand here we can see the metal ver of Reimu instead of the usual poor shrine maiden
Edit: well I now see that this is basically if Castlevania was made based on EoSD. And now I see too where did Luna Nights devs get their inspiration from
Rumia got done dirty :( love the artwork for this game though! Marisa might be my favorite in this art style but they're all great. Keep up the good work!
I only got into Touhou recently. I love the art style of the characters
another example of the orb strategy of dealing with flight is seen during the solar pillar fight in terraria 1.3+, where if you fly, you aggro high power enemies called crawltipedes, and they also don't drop anything special.
I always wondered where the glorious design of that Remilia statue came from. Today I know.
I have zero knowledge on Touhou but I still enjoyed this video a lot! Keep it up!
Watch his first ever video on this channel, it should give you enough context
Judging from your profile pic and my personal experience, I'd say you would enjoy it. At the very least, there's a stoic maid who stops time and loves knives with an epic soundtrack.
29:43
huh
so thats where the very strange crazy flan pic originated from
I was not expecting how in depth this video went, but thats not a bad thing. VERY informative, feels like i know basically the whole game without even playing it. Good stuff Dylan, cant wait for more.
They just announced a steam and switch release for this game.
I still can't get over how different you sound on this channel... It's not a significant difference, but just different enough to tell that you recorded the audio more carefully.
I absolutely love how the tone of this looks gritty and darker, but then Remilia is just like “oh yeah I just wanted to find some treasure”
I follow a decent amount of Silva gunner esk accounts and the title made me think oh no. Not a Touhou Megalovania. But I’m happy your back with another video.
Just imagine a fully open world Metroidvania Touhou game with this visual style. Wow..
That would be cool
@@marcar9marcar972 Until that day comes, we have Luna Nights to practice with.
"Open world" and "Metroidvania" are kinda mutually exclusive terms. Do you mean, a more expansive interconnected map instead of level-based sections? If so, you're really asking for a more Metroidvania-style game like Symphony of the Night, as opposed to a traditional Castlevania-style one.
@@charlotteshenkenberger345 luna night is better than this i guess
I wanna try this as a Castlevania fan. Also, Full Moon Duel for the EX stage is so rocking I love it
do you know where to find this game?
Suika? Alice? But not Rumia? Poor girl got shafted D:
Nevermind, i forgot the extra stage.
I remember the pain that Flandre fight was on stream, oh boy that was something.
I was curious to see how you were going to approach talking about these fangames and I was pleasantly surprised that the video is almost a full guide detailing the important aspects of the game as well as several hints and tips in fighting the bosses or finding lives. It must've taken a lot of effort to make this video and I think you did a very great job! With regards to Touhouvania, I've only tried it once and stopped around midway through because it just wasn't my cup of tea. If I ever decide to try it again, I'll probably refer to this video to help guide me through. Interested in seeing what other fangames you cover next!
the regret? it aged real badly. sad as the banpai akira style makes the characters looks more mature and serious [while keeping actually their normal personality]
I feel like an idiot for not realizing this was a separate channel from the vod channel lol
Doing god's work here man.
Just reviews for each game instead of summarizing an entire playthrough could be nice too.
(poor remilia)
Believe me when I say that was the original intention, Still getting the hang of this whole video thing. I wanted to start with this one because it's my favorite, so it ended up jam packed because I considered all of it worth mentioning. The more story focused games should be good practice for reserving myself, I hope.
Now here's a surprising reminder for me to finish this game :P
Great video Dylan
This was a very informative video! I’ll probably try checking out this fangame sometime soon since I enjoy the castlevania formula and it seems like a great entryway to see the amazing work that’s put into these works by fans. Also, I like your unique ranking system, it’s pretty cute!
This was a really good video, loved it!!
Your on stream fight against Flandre will always be one of the biggest moments I am so honoured to have been able to witness live~
I played this game a loooong time ago. I got stuck at Patchouli and game overed a few times and never got back to it. I should try again
one of most beautiful things I've ever seen
Remillia's reason for the plot is so dumb, it's actually something I'd expect from a Touhou game.
anyways, this game is coming to the switch AND steam this year, no release date yet, only the year it's getting released, 2021
34:40 X09 Cuartel says that's a yes, as he found the concept really interesting and he expressed a bit more about the game when he finally got to Remilia.
Great Video!
Hey, I find it really interessting that the first game you choose is one of the only Touhou fangames that didn't work for me. I played it but then I had this ultra lag in the first stage which made it impossible for me to continue. So I am glad to see a good video about this game^^ I didn't expect you to go that much into detail while playing it but it was pretty interessting :D It just shows how much you like this game by giving it the attention it deserves. I should try to play this game again since I am a big fan of the Metroidvania genre and Touhou of course xD One thing you always teach me is the pronunciation of all the characters because this is something I still have to learn. I was quite shocked to hear how you are supposed to pronounce Cirno or Patchouli xD So keep up the good work and I am looking forward to see what the next incident has to offer :D
Those character portraits are metal as heck!
A bit disappointed that the only difference in difficulty is just damage. It could've added more enemies, extra "spell cards" or make the patterns faster and denser, but that might've been too much effort.
I used to only care about the games as someone who usually ignores story, but I eventually read the manga and found the lore pretty interesting, so hopefully I can be as knowledgeable as Akyuu.
also can't believe cirno is actually useful
Omg this is my new hyperfixation isnt it
You can just reason that all the characters are drunk and that's why they make no sense
Symphony of the Imperishable Night
This reminds me of castlevania order of ecclesia
just found this video and really enjoying how in-depth it went. i'd really love to see one on KD2, since imho it fixed all the major issues this one had (mainly infinite flying)
Thank you so much for your hard work. I wish I had the time to learn how to play, but learning it's history is definitely an amazing second.
Here because a remaster is supposedly out soon. Looks alright.
Insane that both games are now on switch
ill just state this
the protraits are bad ass
they all lookin bad ass as fuck
Sweeto
6:50 ... no to mention an impossible to translate kanji-based joke
There's the second game.
I wish they make more touhouvania. i like touhou luna nigh
Well it looks like this will be released on switch! oddly not with the 2nd game :(
can i ask if the the game is worth the price they’re giving. It’s nearly around 30 pounds (26 exact) and just a bit afraid if i might regret it.
@@ghostknight4147 I'm holding out for the limited edition for the ost cd (you know its going to be great) otherwise I'll probably get a physical copy for $32.
Ehh most likely not. If it came with the 2nd game or promises of the ill fated 3rd game then yes.
Its basically a minor upgrade from a 10 - 12 year old game.
Thanks
Idk why but that cirno is cute
Well Konami still won't give me sympathy of the night on nintendo switch (but have it on to smart phones). So this works.
I wish all the touhou games were on switch. You keep selling me on all the touhou games 😭
Hey, this isn't luna nights...
Duh
All Touhou characters are just miserable little points of point items
Great video. Very helpful information. Question, how did you add that bezel to your game screen?
I am having a MAJOR need to play this game, but I cannot seem to find a single place to procure it.
hi, did you find one now
@@yourheart5770 soon, it will release on the Nintendo Switch, so yes.
This one in video?
@@yourheart5770 Surprisingly, yes.
@@genso6052 cool.
ah I love touhou, but alas, i can't even beat game 6 on normal lol
I dare anyone to beat this game while only flying and if you do send me the link in the replies
My only critiques are:
- It's extremely overpriced for a Castlevania reskin.
- There was more budget spent on the animation in the start and the voice acting than the actual gameplay.
- Staying true to it's source, the gameplay is HORRID. Good luck dodging bosses, just throw everything you got at the boss and pray to God that you win.
