I totally agree that the subhoods system and the ability to create custom hoods are absolute game-changers! Also, I think that sims from sims 2 are the most beautiful and unique-looking. But my favorite thing is that there are tiny-tiny gameplay details. Like when your sim comes home, and their kid greets them with a hug
How to play sims 4: make household, build house, rinse repeat How to play sims 2: play a bunch of households with crazy relationships and family trees, and fulfill their lives
I am 100% with you on Sims 2 memories! It was so strange to me that EA chose to alter that system so radically in The Sims 3. If it ain't broke, why fix it?
In sims 3 they decline a romantic interaction if they have a partner. They don’t in the sims 2. Or in the sims 2 if they sleep around they get jealous of other partners. Somebody wrote a mod for this.
I agree 100% I hadn't even thought about the subhoods but that's a really good point! I think I take them for granted, but you're right, they're not in the later games and they are amazing. I think the biggest thing for me is whatever magic they did to make every single sim feel unique and alive. I cannot get that same experience from any of the other games. Really nice casual video 🥰 And I love that sweater on you, very pretty!
The wants & fears along with memories really create the sim's personality. Also, autonomous actions based on personality really differentiate sims from each other too.
I completely agree with you, I moved on Sims 2 like 4 years ago and I don't want to go back and play the other games anymore lol. I feel like the Sims 2 is complete for me and I don't need new useless and boring packs so I'm fine with it
I couldn't agree more. Another thing that I miss are the interest and hobby system because they make the Sim more unique, not to mention that they choose their one true hobby by themselves and their interests as well but you can alter them with magazines, which is something that I miss A LOT but I get it that no one barely reads them now. I also miss the whole customization that The Sims 2 offers, like create custom paintings with my own photos or create a desert hood with a concrete university attached to it if I want to. A minor thing that I miss is the fact that you have to buy landline phones in order to get calls, and if I want a specific Sim to have a cellphone too they need to buy it first. This way no one gets a free phone and I can safely create a realistic Medieval or Castaway Hood.
I want to make an honorable mention towards autonomous reaction (neat sims occasionally clean up windows, playful sims slide ladders instead of walk, lazy sims spin slowly while active sims spin quickly when they change) + if I order a slob Sim to clean up they will look annoyed by that action lol (same like nice Sims who have to do mean interaction, shy Sims who have to interact with a stranger etc)
I agree with all of these. Others I miss are the cutscenes, the more spicy romantic interactions like the sofa makeout and goosing, and the personality/attraction system in general. I feel like TS2's personality system made for more unique feeling sims than the traits system does.
Yes, how could I forget the cutscenes! And yeah I definitely agree with the spicy romantic interactions, I find it weird how in The Sims 4 adult sims often act like teens when having their first kids, etc.
i found the personality sliders in ts2 to not really affect how the sim generally acted very much. itd be like having 12 traits (neat freak vs slob , etc) while ts3 has like 100 traits
I absolutely agree with you about subhoods! I love the ability to create worlds they way we want with some separation. I also love the fears. I know my fears play a role into how I behave. You’ve made lots of great points!
In the Sims 3 there are automatic memories, but they are generated for everything they do and they clog the game. Also Sims don't react or reminisce on them like they did in the Sims 2.
Yeah, and idk if it's just my game or not but they're also kinda broken. I get a "new memory" of "meeting a vampire/celebrity/etc." nearly every single time one of my sims interacts with someone they ALREADY KNOW who's a vampire/celebrity/etc. It gets SO annoying, like yes, your dad is a celebrity, and this is the fifth time you've noticed this.
@@Kabotynka there's Lot Debugger which has a feature to eliminate all gossip throughout the hood or No Sim Loaded which denies rumours so Sims cannot gossip (I use them both)
The interconnected worlds/neighbourhoods of TS4 are not only unrealistic, but also make it near impossible to play a themed or historical game. I don't have the time or nerve to edit hundreds of townies to fit in with whatever theme I've chosen on the off chance that they'll walk by one day. And I don't want constant festival notifications when I'm playing a Mediaeval village. It would just be nice to at least have the option to choose which worlds you want connected at any given time if actual custom hoods aren't possible. And yeah, a proper want and fear system would really help make TS4 more interesting in the long run. Although that would also require a lot of changes to traits and emotions; in my experience too many of the whims are just emotion-based or just single interactions with other sims, nothing that drives the "story" forward.
%100 agree with Subhoods. I don't think it's talked about enough but I think it needs to brought forward in the community. Wonderful video! You are very entartaining to watch!

I agree with everything you said! Especially with the wants play style thing I do the same like with the homework I think it's realistic to have your sims do it even if they don't want to.
I don't make everything want based but mostly. I also have motivation levels (neatness+Activity-playfulness) so how much wants matter depends on my sims motivation level.
They saw how well Sims 2 did and the Expansions and wanted to make a new game that had some of the expansion stuff they learned but they took away things in Sims 3 because it wasn't possible to program what the Sims 2 became. I liked the ability to jump around a neighborhood to grow the neighborhood.
I am LONGING for an ability in Sims 4 to CHOOSE which hood would be in your save! I want my vampire-only or magician-only saves without a need to firstly clean all the hoods, and than to ignore them the rest of the time!
i agree..but i miss the cheat items from the sims 2 like the sims modder and the tombstone of life and death the most..and also am not sure about others..but i like the fact that in sims 2..when we pause the game..we can return to where we left while in the sims 4..everytime i return to the game after pausing and saving, it does not start from when i paused and saved the game..so it left me frustrated a bit to see my sims in ts4 have aged, married n ad have kods despite that i have paused the game when i left it
Currently, I have The Sims 1, 2, 3, and 4 all installed on one PC. I hardly ever play The Sims 1. The Sims 2 was my first game from The Sims Franchise, and having played that one and The Sims 3 and The Sims 4, The Sims 1 feels like the most boring game ever. I actually do like The Sims 4 for the sake of novelty, but after going through the careers or aspirations, the game doesn't seem to have much replay value for me. It's been there, done that, moving on. So in actuality, I just play The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection and The Sims 3. The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection may have all expansion packs and stuff packs to the Sims 2, but it runs very smoothly on my PC, and I just play it because it's more expansive than the disks that I own (I didn't own much prior to the UC). I also play that one because the UC version on Origin is compatible with Windows 10. But my gameplay sessions of The Sims 2 have become shorter and shorter, because I'm primarily engaged with The Sims 3. For me, currently, The Sims 3 is the game that never ends. I can create tons of scenarios/storylines in the Sim Bios and Household Descriptions, and that really provides a focus for the entire save file. But, there are some challenges that are best done in TS2, in my opinion, such as the Build-A-City Challenge. Any challenge that involves rotational gameplay is best done in TS2.
I love sims 2 but i dont know how to install mod because every tutorial download sims 2 from origin and the file they show is so different. I dont know what to do and i dont have someone to ask.

I haven't played the Sims 2 yet, so I don't actually know if it's a thing, but I just want to take my WHOLE Sims family to the park and such lol that means the baby too. I hate that the babies in Sims 4 are objects. I know they aren't objects in Sims 2 but can you take them off the lot?

1.Sprinkler [Uni Pack] 2.Gardening Servo [OFB+Seasons] 3.Juicer [seasons] 4.The shop [run your own business] is far better than other games. The others you drag to inventory and sell to mystery buyer :( . In sims 2 you can buy directly off suppliers in sims 3 there is a middle man. You can get sleepy hollow or baking station in sims 3. It isn’t as good as the sims 2. In sims 2 you can sell ANYTHING. The bakers stand you can sell food, the system is faulty. With the toy shop you can’t sell crafted items, or discovered items like rocks or gems, in other words I want sims to sell what can’t be found in the catalogue. In sims 3, memories are added in big events, I turned them off. I prefer the sims 4 , that you can travel to worlds no problem, the loading time is like the sims 2, where the loading screen is to go to the shop, or the sims 2 where there is a loading screen to go to a shopping parlour. I want sims to go to a shop or another town without loading screen, I understand hardware limitations. So I don’t mind them loading a town as a sim can travel. It’s best to have 3 residential area and 1 shopping district. With some locals shops in each residential.
Okey, how about a game with the music of the first sims (the best soundtrack), the small details that makes the game so much more real in the sims 2 (having to call the delivery man, otherwise you won't have food, have no clothes if you don't go buy some, have actual money to pay with and an animation with it, etc.), the build mode in the sims 3 (being able to decide and personalize your furniture, walls, and everything that comes with building a home) and the grpahics of the sims 4?
Hi Cozy Pixels, I love your house building video and I went through your website and got all the amazing cc that appeared in your video! I like your videos so much!!! Hope you’ll see this XD Love from Malaysia❤️❤️❤️
I really do feel like the Sims 2 sims had the most personality. Sims 3 was nice with the range of traits you could choose from that actually impacted gameplay as well. I really wish we could go back to the TS1 and TS2 style of adding personality points but also integrate the TS3 with special characteristics like kleptomaniac, absent-minded, etc. that would make for really fun and unpredictable gameplay. TS4 is too easy and simplistic. Every sim acts exactly the same with over exaggerated animations which the TS2 did so well and TS4 is just too much. The open world in the Sims 3 is really near and dear to my heart because I love exploring, but even just exploring the neighbourhood and scaled back to just visiting nearby houses without a loading screen would be the best. I like to see what other sims are up to and I want them involved in my stories. Playing with just one household and not wanting to leave the lot because the same four sims show up to community lots isn't a good time. I liked sending my sims all over town and just letting them meet and interact with whoever naturally. I want NPCs back and lore more than anything. TS2 lore was so much fun to play with. I remember being ten and just playing the base game no expansions (because I couldn't afford it) but there was so much to do without the expansions that it didn't matter. I only played the expansions as an adult but we need a game that's fully fleshed out from the start so badly. I really love the shopping aspect too! I'd always take my sims to get their wedding dresses and new outfits for life changes. It would be fun to bring back the stylist and have hair dressers and barbers some day. I remember hearing a rumour that hair would grow for sims in TS4 and finding out it wasn't true. :( Anyway, TS2 was an amazing game and I'd happily return to it when Mac comes out with a complete collection.
I love the whole system of dating in the Sims 2. When I first played Sims 3 and had my sim go out on a date I was disappointed because they got to go inside a restaurant while I'm stuck out on the sidewalk waiting for them to finish. I really hated that. I like all the little flirty things you can do with your date even while eating, like holding hands or offering them a bite of your food (or stealing theirs). You can even blow them a kiss! Of course there's always the danger of Mrs. Crumplebotton spotting you indulging in a little PDA and then smacking you with her purse but that's really part of the fun. Sims 2 memories are great and they're so fun to go back and see what's all happened in a sims life. My only complaint with the memory system is when I have children getting memories of cousins passing every semester of college, getting married, etc, when they've never met them! One of the neatest things about wants and fears is how they are actually tied to things that happen in the game. I had a sim get electrocuted once trying to fix the microwave. His son, who was a child, saw this. Next thing I know the boy has rolled a fear of his father dying and he had not rolled a want like that before. AW!
I tried playing Sims 4 and although some quality of life fixers were there, and the Aspirations were a lot better, the game is boring. You cant create your own neighbourhood, which is a huge part of the appeal to The Sims for me. I just play Sims 2 with a whole bunch of mods and cheats lol x
I think you would do really great if you tried other games like for example ark survival evolved or something a little different and includes more interactions with your fans.
Everybody has their favorite game, and each game is different - certain things are in sims 2 but so many are not! Recently I got hyped to play sims 2 because of nostalgia and all the videos like this one convincing that sims 2 is the best So, I did it - first, spent entire two days downloading all the mods to make it work and even have basic features (like fixing the frozen time nonsense)... At first, it was fun but really quickly I realized how many things this game lacks and that all that is left is the nostalgia that runs out of its course after a few hours. And now I am back to sims 3 and 4 because sims 2 is just plain boring to me. Moreover, after coming back to sims 2 myself all these comparison videos and sims 2 fans seem like they want to convince the entire world that sims 2 is superior while in fact it isn't and the advantages presented are often misleading, wrong, or just personal opinions. In any case, happy simming to everyone! It's great to have different versions of the game not for seeing shortcomings of other versions but to be able to choose your cup of tea and have fun with it :)
ARC?! you have to be joking, I yet have to see a version of that game that is actually playable and isn't cursed even when I look at it let alone give a damn and waste my life to play it.
It's really exhausting to even think about it anymore. Give me Sims2 with the open world of Sims3 (that actually works) and as of Sims4 there is nothing worthy about it at all perhaps the building system and body sliders but even then you need cheats and mods on top of that to even make something worth a while, other then that no thanks. TS2 was amazing, TS3 open world was inviting but was unplayable, sims looked awful in there that is all I remember, same goes for 4, overall 4 have no actual coherent content nor anything that speaks volumes. Think if I ever start playing games again and in this case Sims it probably will be old console versions or just TS2 on PC, don't care for anything else.
I like traits in ts3 better than ts2 personality sliders. i think ts3 sims do have more unique personalities and their CAS looks is alot better. hard core ts2 fans thought ts3 sims look too doughy. i disagree. ts3 is more realistic graphically, the open world especially. seasons are the best in ts3. is the best looking and the best part of the game that made adventure EPs, jobs like firefighter, and collecting stuff like gems, fishing, scrapyard etc so fun. there was so much ts3 had cuz of open world. then making ur own world in CAW is endless. ts3 was most immersive sims game imho... ts2 tho has the best storytelling like i played pleasantview all my middle school days, i had fun having all the sims in pleasantview grow up. ts3 did not have such immersive default story characters. ts2 also OFB was one of the coolest EPs. the graphics sucked tho but theres nostalgia i got when i was a kid in the early 00s. also afaik in ts3 you got to buy ingredients to cook at the rabbithole grocery

Thank you Mavis 😁🥰
AW!
With sims 3 you can select “dine with date” or “dine with group”
Omg first 🤩 I'm never first to anything 😂 Haven't even watched the video yet, but I bet it'll be good and I love the idea!
Haha, thank you dear I hope you'll enjoy! 😁
I agree with all of these.
It's great to have different versions of the game not for seeing shortcomings of other versions but to be able to choose your cup of tea and have fun with it :)
you should play ark survival evolved and you can tame and raise dinosaurs plus build bases, houses, etc
ARC?! you have to be joking, I yet have to see a version of that game that is actually playable and isn't cursed even when I look at it let alone give a damn and waste my life to play it.
Genetics!
🇧🇷❤
