- Narrow your area of focus within a 3D volume with Image Slices! Slice 3D grids at any location, orientation, or angle to observe how a cross section changes along survey lines or at specific orientations.
You can even add multiple Image Slices to a model to create a Fence Diagram that is commonly used to display differences in stratigraphic layers.

Thank you for your question! Surfer is a powerful tool for visualizing subsurface data, and it can create detailed contour and 3D surface maps based on the data you provide. However, the accuracy of what is shown underground depends on the quality and type of data you input (e.g., geological surveys, borehole data, GPR data, etc.).
While Surfer can effectively illustrate variations in the subsurface, it doesn't directly "detect" underground structures. Instead, it helps visualize the data collected from other sources to reveal trends or patterns in the subsurface. If you provide accurate data, Surfer can create clear representations of underground features.

Hello,
You can export your 3D model by selecting 3D View | Output | Export 3D.

hi, How do I calculate the variable z?
Hello,
The Z variable will most likely be an elevation variable. Surfer does not have a way to calculate your Z value based on input X and Y, it will have to be data you have on hand already.
Thank you,

@@GoldenSoftwareHi how do you create the XYZC color relief layer? Which data do you need, to create it? Can you make a video about it?

Color Relief Maps are raster maps based on grid files. Grid files are produced from XYZ, XYZC, or drillhole data using the Home | Grid Data | Grid Data command. You can also import a grid file and create a color relief map from that. Please see "Surfer supported file formats" to determine which grid file formats are supported.

To learn how to create a Color Relief map, you can review the Help documentation above or watch this training video (grid-based maps, including color relief maps, are discussed at the 6:33 mark): support.goldensoftware.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012100713-Surfer-Map-Types-Training-Video
If you have Surfer installed and need sample data to work with, I suggest accessing the following folder: C:\Program Files\Golden Software\Surfer\Samples. Please note: the specific data file used in this video may not be available.
Thank you!
