- How to use 2d (traditional sonar) to find crappie, bass, bluegill, walleye, or perch. This video explains how I use 2D sonar to find and catch crappie while fishing throughout different seasons. I also explain the best settings to use for 2D sonar such as transducer frequency, amplitude meter (a-scope or RTS), and how setting your depth will help you see more fish.

Great job on the explanation of 2D Sonar. Thank you for doing this Video for us old school guys that refuse to use Livescope. I go fishing to disconnect, not look at a Screen while I'm fishing. Anyway, thanks again. Tight Lines.✌️
You have done the best explaining of most videos I have seen
I love your videos especially on sonar and fish finders in general. I am glad to see you didn't go live scope full time nothing against live scope but for me i still reli on the sonar and di and si.
Always great content Davis! Much appreciated
Great info! You answered questions that I've always wanted the answers to. Thanks again,
As always, just great great video's. I've learned so much watching you.
Awesome information! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you sir and that’s a great tutorial on 2d!!
Thank you ,I’m struggling to learn my garmin 7 sv,this helps a lot
Good job of covering setting..thanks
Great video I appreciate it a lot of good knowledge can't wait to get it back out in the water to try some of it
Really liked this video. New to fish finders. Will try your suggestions. Thanks.
Great explanation. I've learned a lot from watching your videos. That's alot of bandaids😃
Man Davis u put out great info love the content man 👍
Thank you you have helped me do more
Lots of good information!
Great explanations jt
Great job on 2D!!!
Good job on explaining
Very good video !
Great vid
Thanks!
Thank you!
I’ve got the Garmin 4 on a 14ft Marlon aluminum. I’ve never really liked it but it is better than nothing. I don’t fish big water like you guys out there. I’ve only got a Honda 8 HP and a 20 year old Minkota. Thoughts on upgrading the transducer to the Garmin GT8HW TM VS just spending the $500-1000 and getting a new unit all together. Thanks from Western Washington.
You may want se the striker 4 and upgrade to the striker vivid 5cv instead of gettting the gt8w transducer. The 5cv will have down imaging and plus mapping. Or, if you had the budget, the Garmin 7sv.
I use my unit at sea I have garmin echomap 75uhd I need to find wrecks at depth between 30 meters and 100 meters what settings would you suggest for this. Very good video. Gerry
Garmin, what do you have on a 9 inch boat or is it suitable for ice fishing
Does it mark fish well in deep water?
do you have it? What do you have on a 9 inch boat can you use it under the ice Fishing Please answer
What garmin unit are you using
This is the Garmin echomap 93sv UHD amzn.to/3QfES83
Thanks. Can live scope show fish ID ( Fish symbol) ?
No, livescope doesn't have that function
@@FloppingCrappie thank you.
i am looking at buying a 126 ultra ,theres so many units to choose from, i will be crappie and bass fishing
The 126 ultra is top of the line. Are you planning on buying the livescope system as well?
@@FloppingCrappie i already have the livescope system i just wanted a bigger screen ,i have a 9" screen now
@@garysunday4505 oh ok. Then that 126sv will be a great unit for livescope and SI/DI. If you didn't plan on using it for side imaging or down imaging, id recommend the 1242xsv. It's a 12inch screen that's less expensive than the 126sv. 1242xsv bit.ly/3Jnbc42
do you like the garmin better than the hummingbird??
They're both great units. For me it came down to what trolling motor and forward looking sonar I wanted. Since garmin was the first with livescope, I naturally went that direction.
you show the fish but they are now behind you so that always confuse me everything you. are looking at is in the past so what do you do turn the boat around?
Yes, the fish would be behind the boat as the move from left to right on my screen. Typically you would mark then with a waypoint or use a buoy marker to mark their location. Then you would circle back with the boat in order to fish the school.
thanks you sir. I enjoy your videos
Can you actually see your lure ?
Yes, but the lure needs to be directly below your transducer
Because I troll for trout in deep water like 100 feet
Garmin, what do you have on a 9 inch boat or is it suitable for ice fishing
I use the 93sv for ice fishing. Garmin sells a portable kit you can use.
do you have it? What do you have on a 9 inch boat can you use it under the ice Fishing Please answer
You can use the Garmin 93sv for both the boat and ice fishing. If you want to use it for ice fishing you will need to buy the Garmin ice fishing kit, which comes with an ice fishing transducer and a portable battery kit for the Garmin 93sv.
