Equilibrium Example using Mathcad 15 Solve Block | Drum On Incline w/ Spring and 2-Force Member Link

    Here, several common diagrammatic elements used in statics problems are shown and discussed. An example problem is presented in which a drum rests on an inclined plane, held in place by a two-force member (i.e. link) and extension spring. A free body diagram (FBD) is prepared for the drum and then used to develop a Mathcad 15 solution for the force carried in the link and the contact force between the drum and the inclined surface. Equilibrium equations are entered into a Mathcad solve block which is used to find the unknown values and store the results into variables.
