Wow, what an awesome way to make a plastic stock tank build look sleek and modern. I am halfway through the older, box frame stock tank build and I'm tempted to scrap it and switch to this version instead.
Penguin isn't "coldest" - in my experience folks have been better off with Active Aqua or Ecoplus. That being said, you could adapt the plumbing for the Penguin - just don't go with their cold therapy chiller
Looks great!! Having issues with my build maintaining temp in this hot Florida weather. Currently rocking an inflatable tub like the Edge Theory labs set up. Would building this with the better insolation improve my set ups performance? Currently getting about 50 degrees, wanting to get back down to 38-40.
I completed my own DIY cold plunge with the help of these videos. I have the active aqua 1/4 HP and a 100-gallon rubbermaid tub set up in my garage. How long do you run the chiller/pump to keep your water at your desired temp, or do you run it 24/7? Also, how long do you run the ozone generator per day?
Hi Joe, love the channel mate, keep it up. I live in australia and want to know if the pump, chiller and ozone components will work here on 240volt power. If not do you have alternative suggestions for us Aussies?? Thanks 😃
Hey I love the vids and this plan is fantastic. Before I buy the plan can you let me know how you cut the wood trim around the top of tub? Will I need a special tool for that one?
I don't have a Rubbermaid brand stock tank, but it is a different brand 100 gallon stock tank. Will this plan work for it? Or will I have to buy the specific rubbermaid brand stock tank in order for the dimensions to work out the same
Hi Joe. I seem to have an issue when it comes to sanitation of the water in the cold plunge. I am using a 350l pvc barrel and a very similar plumbing system as you do. After 10 days of use I am starting to notice that the water filter is getting pretty dirty and I can feel that the bottom and the edges of the barrel have a very smooth feel to it (assuming it is algae). The water has no smell though and it looks clear. I do however notice bubbles that look like foam floating at the top, could this be from too much ozone or is it something else? I’ve been running the chiller and water pump 6hrs/day and ozone 1hr/day. Looking forward to your reply mate, cheers.
Usually bubbles/foam like that mean you are bringing oils, detergents/etc. into the tank with you on your skin & clothes when you plunge. Deodorants, sweat, etc. are usually the culprit. You can try a soaking sponge or giving yourself & your clothes an extra rinse before getting in.
@@DIYColdPlungeappreciate your reply. You were right, but unfortunately I was about algae also, so I had to empty out the tank and give everything from pipes, filter and the barrel a good rinse and clean. I have concerns regarding the ozone generator, as if it’s ineffective or at least not enough, should I be adding chlorine? What could have caused this, have you had any similar problems throughout the years? Thank you once again
@@cnw-jd9tt With a bunch of great reviews - but of course, you can do this on your own. The plan will save a bunch of time, experimentation and frustration.
Hey joe how about an insulated pump and filter box some of us have the chiller sorted I fins I need to build an insulated box for the filter and pump system
@@DIYColdPlunge not exactly my house are insulated, but I have a strainer in front of the pump and a filter after the pump both of them collect condensation. So I’d like to insulate them in something together. You have seen my current set up
You'll need a chiller with the barrel, it also won't have sanitation. Or and LED light - not that you need it. But you can scale it all back too. All personal preference

I just scrapped my build for the new version.
Thank you! I'm really happy with how it turned out.

How to add and power a light and how do you add ozone to your pump, and chiller loop? Thanks
Hey Cooper! I've got some additional tutorials on my channel for the light & ozone but all of that is included step-by-step in the plan 👍
Really glad I found your channel can't wait to build a real plunge from your guides keep it up !!
Thanks!!!
Are you able yo put water sealant on the wood vs. the wrap you put on the wood in previous videos?
You can, I'd still recommend wrapping for added protection.
Can you use this setup
With a penguin chiller or eco plus? I’m in Florida and want the coldest chiller possible

Better/more insulation will be your best friend
Looking forward to the chiller encloser DIY. Any info you can share now?
Sure! it's pretty much just a box with venting and access, black and cedar to match the style of the build 👍

Ozone goes for 1-2 hours/day. I let everything else run 24/7

There may be some slight adjustments to make, but with how the plan walks you through it you should be able to easily adapt.

YES!!!!🎉🎉🎉
Stoked for that 1/4 HP for the 150 vid!!!!
😅😅😅
Thanks!
Is there an insulated lid available for the 150??
Yep - just sold out at the moment. I have more on the way. diycoldplunge.com/products/stock-tank-insulated-spa-cover
God I was so on board till he dropped the $2k material cost. I can just get an ice barrel for $1100 and be done.

How much is the total cost of this build roughly?
~$2000-2500 depending on materials in your area
That is really cool
Thanks! I've gotten some really good feedback on the plan
Do the plans come with videos on how to build and do all the different plumbing and building?
Yep - everything is covered in the start-to-finish plan 👍
