I'm so grateful this and other Al Atkins' material is readily available on youtube, otherwise I may have never seen or heard such amazing performances. Just excellent! And to the feckless mouth-breathers who had someone else, obviously, type something negative, I have this to say; It's too bad stupidity isn't painful. - Lou Cipher (2020)
People. I allow all comments. This is the first recording with Al I did. Some of you are kind, some of you are critical. That is absolutely fine. I do not mind at all. If you like it then fine. It was over a decade ago ;-)
I noticed some Priest fans saying that this version isn't as good as Rob's version. I've been a huge Priest fan in my youth and my first live concert was a Judas Priest concert. I've always been a fan of Rob Halford, but I've got nothing bad to say about this version either. Honestly I was expecting more of a cover version of Victim of Changes that we all know and are perhaps more used to, but this really sounds like The Al Atkins Band's song and not just a cover, if you know what I mean. Al has a very good voice and I really like his style. The band plays really well together too. A lot of Priest fans are just so used to Rob being THE singer of the band so that they can't accept anyone else singing the same songs :) I was the same too. Didn't like it when Tim "Ripper" Owens replaced Rob. Only later on I understood that Ripper was actually a very good replacement for Rob. But enough about Priest for now because like I said earlier, this doesn't sound like a JP cover at all so there's no need for me to even compare this to JP's version. Good job and keep on rocking!
Iron Maiden need to have this guy touring with them. I mean obviously keep Bruce for Bruce's stuff, but bring out Al for Paul's. He sounds so much like late 70s, early 80s Paul Di'Anno it's ridiculous
Nothing wrong with Al Atkins version of this song..He has a lot of history with the band...If they make it into the Rock Hall of Fame..i hope he is included
It's a little sad to find out Rob Halford didn't write the lyrics to my favorite song of all time : ( BTW, what does he mean when right before the solo they sing: "I've had enough, I've had enough, Good God, Pluck me! "Pluck me"? What does that mean? I have never in my whole life heard that expression. Maybe it's a British thing.
Tim Ripper suck, he just try's to Rip off Rob Halfords style and anytime someone does that it is never as good, this guy kills it with his own style to the song.
The man's voice hasn't changed at all!!!!! In fact the guy has gotten better with time. God bless him. The founder father of Judas Priest.

Thanks man, we, Al, and the band never set out to be anyone else but us. And HELL we keep on going.
I appreciate your kind comments.
Not really a cover, seeings Al wrote the song. Rob would replace Al later, so Rob was actually covering Als material.😁

Judas Priest never would have gone anywhere with this guy on vocals - he's painfully average. And he's goofy-looking too.
This song also is Al s . He wrote it . Halford is doing the cover.
sounds like Paul dianno which is great
Vernon Robinson I was thinking the same thing
@@aspookyknucklehead1309 other way around
I barely hear vocals at all, sounds in key with shit load of reverb but turned way down in mix?
Sounds nothing like Di'Anno.
@@hinjurock70 OK, you seem to be the vocal expert here
So Great! Best version of this song
The whole band...wuts not to love!!!! Fantastic!!
Excelente versión!!!
Thank you sir ;-)
Both are good. This, and Halfords.

Great idea! Al Atkins could probably use the money too. Even if he doesn't, I bet he'd love it!
AGREED!!
@@CaptBeauregards bring out paul for pauls stuff..what a terible idea

Holy hell! This is pie hot! cheeers, Jerry

Hehehe I still love the Goldie lookin chain Wristbands Si had on.
And god bless you all for your kind comments ;-)
I will take Rob Halfords version thank you. \m/
He used to sound a hell of a lot more bluesy.listen to him in 1989. Still the whole band is really good
This reminds me of Paul Di'Anno era Iron Maiden
no wounder priest got rid of you
oh yrah they went in the right direction for sure.. hes a good heavy metal singer though..
TO BE HOW HALFORD NEEDS TO PEE FOR ANOTHER 200 YEARS

It s a mix between two songs. Victim of changes is party written by Halford.
Original...!
He's got a great voice though
Not really.
@@hinjurock70 let's hear you do better

I can and have.

I sing more like James Hetfield and John Bush.
the images are not from 2005...because there is not Dave Holland on the drums
WHAT? Dave Holland was jailed in 2004!! I think I know who was in the band. I WAS THERE!
that guy doesn't know what he is talking about. He left Priest long before and this is a different band. Thanks for posting this.
Should have stuck with JP.
amigo, you forgitten something .
Al Atkins you are good singer, but you leave judas Priest!!!
I thought Joe Lynn Turner and Paul De Ano are the shittiest singers...I was wrong
Tim the ripper can do better
Very good
+Facundo Fontana So what?
He makes this song sound awful when he sings it.
Tim Ripper suck, he just try's to Rip off Rob Halfords style and anytime someone does that it is never as good, this guy kills it with his own style to the song.
Be respectful of the original
