Thanks Brad! Do you get charged capital gains if you bought in accumulation phase and sold it for something else, also in accumulation phase? ie. at a simple level, you bought high growth index, then switched it for bonds and cash after it had appreciated.
Hey mate, yeah you do. If a capital gain is realised in accumulation phase then CGT is payable. Inside accumulation phase, if the asset is held longer than 12 months you get a one third discount so the tax on the gain is 10%
