I feel so much better now. I don't want to be married, I don't want children or any of that. I will happily remain single for the rest of my life and serve the Lord in my permanent singleness. And thank God for pets. They help alot with loneliness and depression.

Modern pleasure-loving man does not want to hear this word: Every intimate marital sexual union that has no possibility of producing a child is actually a form of sodomy. Sex for pleasure alone, no matter with whom and how it is performed is sodomy. This is also a shadow picture or type of a spiritual reality about our relationship of covenant marriage union with our Head, our King, our Messiah, if it does not result in a conception, form and birth Christ within your spiritual deep inner womb, it is either a virtual union or a union with a false christ, another spirit, thus it is a vain religion for thrills and an emotional high, just like having sex for a dopamine hit and not for reproduction.

My husband and I had three sons, my last one by 23. After experiencing a still born of a girl in between my sons, and high risk pregnancies with the others we decided that I were to have a tubal ligation done. We are in our thirty’s now and both have regret we had the procedure done. We have talked about having more kids and if we do it will require significant amount of money and me going under again to reverse it. I had set in my heart I didn’t want more kids at 23 but truly I hate that I can’t have another if we wanted. I know we lived on emotions, anger because we didn’t have a girl and not wisdom when making that decision. All actions contrary to the Lord.

      Hi sister :)
      Please consider this:
The reason birth control (including tubal ligation) is sinful has to do with God's design for sex.
God made sex for two purposes namely for procreative purposes and unitive purposes (meaning to deepen the love and bond between the spouses)
However one must never separate the procreative purposes of sex from it's unitive purposes because God never intended for the two to be separate. For every act in marriage to be chaste it must meet both the procreative and unitive purposes of sex.
Let's take IVF for example: it's procreative but it's not unitive because there is no sexual union which takes place between the spouses which bonds them together. Therefore it's not within God's will because it separates the procreative purposes of sex from it's unitive purposes.
Birth control does the opposite of IVF. The sexual union takes place but it's closed off to procreation thereby rendering the act sterile. So birth control separates the sexual union from it's procreative purposes.
Let's take BDSM as another example. It is possible for BDSM to be procreative but hitting, choking, tying up your spouse during sex does not bond you together so it's non unitive and therefore BDSM should also not be practiced in a Christian marriage because it also separates the procreative from the unitive.
Unnatural sexual acts are all non procreative and non unitive so it's not within God's design.
Not saying God wants us to conceive every time we have sex but we should at least be open to life resulting from that act so if it is impossible that a baby could result from the act you are doing or it's contraceptive then it's wrong.
You can look up natural family and use that instead of tubal litigation, condoms, birth control and artificial contraceptives.
      God bless!

I believe that the fact I’m even having this internal battle with myself as to whether or not to have kids (and erring on the side of not having them) could be a calling from God that having children isn’t the life He wants me to live. I’ve been fighting internally about this for a long time now and I wish I just had some peace of mind, so thank you Pastor John for those 5 points we need to consider before having children.

Permanent or temporary birth control is not a sin.
Genesis 2:18, "It is not good for man to be alone." What this means is that an angelic companion will be assigned to you in heaven if you are not in a committed relationship with someone.
Genesis 1:28 says to "Be fruitful and multiply." If you multiply without control that is NOT fruitful because there is only a certain amount of money so you can overpopulate your local economy.
Paul says? Paul? Paul does not make universal policy nor did he understand it.
Human free will is a priority of God or it would not be law.

To be Christian, married and fertile means you are to enjoy sex and also procreate. It is God's desire, He is seeking Godly offspring from your union Malachi 2:15. Childfree is not an option unless you suffer from infertility or choose a life of singleness through celibacy. This new idea that suddenly you don't have to have children and can do " whatever" is not a teaching fo scripture,.

I just never knew that birth control pills could act as a means of abortion. Way back when I was first married, the birth control pill was described as preventing conception or keeps you from getting pregnant or keeps you from conceiving a baby. So in our minds it prevented fertilization. Well. That’s what happens when you don’t have internet and TV stations were pretty minimal too.

If is not good for a man to be single, then women do not want anything to do with me when they are seeking a prize trophey. There are reasons for family planning?", "Can I afford to have children?", "Is it something I want?" "Is it the right time?" "How many can I afford?" and these are logical questions that couples should asked them selves and you really do not have to have children to complete a marriage. There are economic reason to have children and there are economic reason not to have children. Children are a major responsibility and can be an economic stress. It should not be a religious obligation to procreate for the lord, that is between the married couple only.

My family decided on permanent birth control after pur 3rd..financially and at the high costs of our marriage we would have proceeded without. I do sometimes I think rather ask if we were too hasty. Having 3 has been really hard in every aspect. We physical don't have the space in our home for more children and thank God he has sustained us but we are not in a financial situation where we can buy a bigger house. Our marriage has been deeply effected by not being able to spend more time. I LOVE our kids but it's hard. I think God gives us wisdom to choose. I think if God wants me to have another PBC or not ill have another. Again tho it would be worth putting before God to ask where He stands. When we made this choice it was on the heels of a birth. I am wishy washy here. Best thing I can say is pray

@@ABezuidenhout370 Hmm, not sure I fully agree with your take on this.
So is 'natural' birth control acceptable then? If not, then why do you draw this conclusion? There are also those people who simply cannot have kids; are they barred from having sex in the eyes of God? Why or why not?
God's design for sex was both for pleasure between a husband and wide and to procreate. It was not specifically state both go together or it is sin (granted, biblical principle can be applied to figure it out one way or the other), which is why this topic is so talked about in christian communities.
So is your take that no one at all should ever be on any form of birth control (natural or otherwise) what so ever, and that anyone who does so is sinning?

1 Timothy 2:15 (ESV) Paul says,
15 Women, however, will be saved through childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.
      Galatians 3:28 (NIV)
28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
We are all one in Christ.
1 Timothy 4:16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
1 Timothy 5: 14-15 So I counsel younger widows to marry, to have children, to manage their homes and to give the enemy no opportunity for slander. Some have in fact already turned away to follow Satan.
For husbands and wives who need to deprive each other of physical intimacy we have this passage...
1 Corinthians 7:5 Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
Somebody else wrote this part, it wasn’t me…
First, as you remark, a natural reading of the word "saved" doesn't allow this passage to agree with the rest of Scriptures. So we should look at possible definitions. One possibility comes from 1 Timothy 4:16 above. It's plain from that verse that Paul does not think that in the final judgment Timothy's listeners will be saved on the basis of Timothy's careful watch of his own life and doctrine. Rather the idea is probably better seen in a place like 6:20-21: "Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith." Therefore, we might understand "save" as in the sense of "protect someone from wandering from the faith."
Second, then, we ask how does "childbearing" protect anyone from wandering from their faith? The phrase "to have children" in 1 Timothy 5:14 is the only other instance of this term in the New Testament. And here we see it alongside a couple other verbs: "marry" and "manage their homes." It's possible then that Paul's use of childbearing in 2:15 is a shorthand for this larger idea. In the passage in chapter 5, the young widows are in danger of bringing judgment on themselves by being idlers and gossips and busybodies. To protect them from this, Paul counsels that they marry, have children, and manage homes. This will keep Satan from getting a foothold in their lives.
We see a similar pattern in the 1 Corithians 7 passage. Paul is concerned that by depriving one another couples will give opportunity to Satan to tempt them towards sexual immorality. Paul therefore recommends that they come together as a married couple as a means of protection. Thus while we wouldn't say anyone is saved in the final judgment because they had regular intercourse with their spouse, people might be saved from the temptation to go after shrine prostitutes and their idols and so forsake the faith.
Similarly, childbearing is not what saves a woman in the final judgement. A woman is saved in the final judgment like anyone else (their is no Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male or female...): through faith. Yet in this life, childbearing is a gift to help save her from making shipwreck of that faith.

I believe all contraception is a sin, but Natural Family Planning is not. Contraception works by stimulating the sexual process and then thwarting the God designed natural end of sex. Natural Family Planning on the other hand does not attempt to thwart and counteract the completion of the sexual act; thus it doesn't violate God's design for sex.

    • @someone-ji2zb
      @someone-ji2zb ปีที่แล้ว

Ok, but part of the discussion is whether or not controlling birth in general is considered a sin if a couple has sex.
By purposely having sex based on a woman's cycle in the hopes of avoiding pregnancy, then that is still a form of birth control no matter how you slice it. So what makes that not a sin compared to other forms of birth control in regards to scripture?

    • @jacobgraf7284
      @jacobgraf7284 ปีที่แล้ว

@@someone-ji2zb I don't think preventing births for a time (not forever) through NFP is a sin because abstinence is a normal state/function of the body. Sex with the possibility of conception is a normal state/function of the body. Contraception is an unnatural state/function of the body. The issue with contraception is that it renders the natural ends of sex as sterile. God provided a natural order and function, and to thwart that order goes against His design. Now, I can't provide you with explicit Scripture talking about contraception, but one can apply principles from general revelation and natural law to this issue.
The Bible doesn't explicitly condemn pedophilia, but I am confident that pedophilia is a sin.

Yes. In fact. We're talking about the same God who killed someone for pulling out. "Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth." I don't believe He was saying that being fruitful and multiplying is something that should stop. (Coitus interruptus is also a sin.) It's also said to be a curse in apocryphal texts talking about the gospel of Mary, not to have kids, and I can see where that applies as a Calvinist, to decide not to have kids, and possibly makes you a murderer.
