  • Using spoken word poetry, actress Skye Lourie talks about her creative process, developing her material and harnessing the frustrations life throws her way.
Skye Lourie was born in New Zealand and brought up between Scotland & Italy. After moving back to England, she was thrown straight into her first job at 18, a channel 4 TV miniseries. Skye continued to land parts including feature length films The Facility and The Holding, TV series Hustle, BAFTA nominated short film, Slap and the BBC comedy, Uncle. Skye started writing poetry to convey her personal experience in the acting industry which quickly became more than just an outlet for her own creativity and amusement and after several successful performances Skye landed the opportunity to take her ‘spoken thought’ play to Edinburgh 2016.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

I just finished watching her on "The Pillars of The Earth". She's brilliant and beautiful.

That series was so awesome. They didn't show her at the end though. She seemed to disappear after returning to the castle. No resolution to her story.
