I sold my timeline a few days after getting the DMMTT 1100. Some people claim the timeline can cop a sound close to it, but as someone who has spent hours with them side by side, I can assure you it cannot. The timeline cannot get warm no matter what, and the decay is completely wrong. I would say it gets 50% of the way there, if you can ignore the whole "tone thing". In comparison to emulating my Moog 104m that's pretty good, since it scored about 10% in that test. I don't miss the timeline.

I can answer this one: on the DML2, with both the feedback level and eq up, the unit continues to oscillate long after it has been turned off. I find that with the feedback level set to 12 o'clock or below, it doesn't chirp or click when you turn it off and back on. It is designed to oscillate HEAVILY even in the non-spaceship mode.
My guess is the DMMTT is designed to shut the whole signal path down when not engaged to prevent this. Kudos to EHX for the fix.

    A few of my thoughts...
    Deluxe Memory Man wins on:
    Smaller enclosure
    Longer delay times
    Boost function (gain)
    More tap subdivision options
Longer feedback with out that annoying click-oscillation
    Better oscillation
    Better modulation
    Memory Lane wins on:
Tone knob (this is a killer feature to me)
    Two delay "settings"
    Foot-switchable modulation

I think the DML2 have a switch on the inside to choose between the Spaceship mode (which oscilates easily) and a normal mode. I'm guessing the DML2 would actually closer to Deluxe Memory Boy. You wouldn't happened to have one of those around would ya??? :D

I have booth and they booth are awesome but there is something special about the diamond this video isn’t really Doing it justice. It’s more lush and just sound more dynamic. The memory man is awesome in other ways like rhythmic and the modulation is a lot better
