I don't mind the stickiness of the ykk zippers. Knowing they're aquaguard makes it bad ass. I think it makes for a great travel and gym bag. I used to own duffels as a gym bag however I prefer the comfort of a backpack. It has great capacity, a good quick access top compartment, and nice ykk aqua guard all around. Love the review, looks like a wonderful pack.
Aquaguard zippers I put a small amount of oil on them, it helps with zipper pull much easier. FYI; the oil provided with my water proof bags for my motorcycle.
Hey Indy! We get what you're saying. We currently have no plans to compare the Aer Capsule Pack Max and Tom Bihn Aeronaut in the immediate pipeline, but we'll check it out. In the meantime, you can also check out our comparison of this pack and the Aer Travel Pack 2: packhacker.com/blog/general/aer-capsule-pack-max-vs-aer-travel-pack-2/ - Rebecca
I've had the Aeronaut for a bunch of years now and this looks to be what I'd expect an updated version to look like that better accommodates tech. I'd guess the Aeronaut will hold a little more, as it can be easily over-packed. However, the Aeronaut doesn't handle a laptop well, as you just have to put it in the main compartment. And in all honesty, it doesn't carry heavy loads very well either. Once loaded down with tech and a few days worth of clothes, the backpack function becomes a bit uncomfortable, especially for long jaunts through the airport, etc. That said, the handles and shoulder strap all work well, build quality is high. These bags do seem like siblings.
I can always count on you for honest reviews and not acting like a hype man just because a brand sends you their product for review. Keep that up! What pouch did you use in the top organizer pocket?
Hey! Glad you're digging the review. The pouch in the top organization pocket is the Aer Cable Kit packhacker.com/travel-gear/aer/cable-kit/ 😊 - Rebecca
I’ve been watching your videos and looking for the right bag for probably over a year now. Think I might have just found it. Would you recommend the 35 or 40 for long weekend or longer but minimal travel?
Hey Matt! It's great to hear that you may have found the right travel bag for you. When it comes to capacity, it really does depend on you, your travel style, how you like to pack and what you like to travel with. Working this out will help you decide which size pack will be better for you. You can also check out the Aer Capsule Pack product page for our initial thoughts. @Pack Hacker - Do you have any recommendations for packing cubes for this backpack? I've seen promo pictures on their website which looks great, but can't seem to find these or something similar that fit well into the bag. Thank you!
Hey Josh! In general, packing cubes from the same brand are designed to fit their bags. I'll drop a link for info on Aer's packing cubes below. Thanks for the comment! - Austin packhacker.com/travel-gear/aer/packing-cubes-v2/
Reminds me of the Tomtoc A82, which I bought recently. It is a more minimalist bag, less or almost no organisation compared to the Aer Capsule Pack. But it is a little lighter, which is a plus if you travel by plane. Also it is well padded, hase nice zippers and a ton of space, that you can reduce with pulls if you like. I would love to see a PH-Review of it. So what do you say? :D

Hey T Scott! These are the Outdoor Research Fairbanks Fingerless Gloves packhacker.com/travel-gear/outdoor-research/fairbanks-fingerless-gloves/ 😊 - Rebecca
Steven Garcia it looks so much smaller on all the other reviewers who are also physically smaller than him. Makes no sense. I think Pack Hackers packed the Fuck out of this bag. He def filled in every square mm in there. Other reviewers didn’t pack it as much I think.
Why are big jiggly zipper pulls stil a problem, is nobody smart enough to figure this out? put some rubber coating over them at the factory. year after year, we just don't see any improvements in this market..
Aer has a terrible return policy. Almost adversarial and hostile to customers. 14 days with original packaging and it’s up to them if they want to refund.
Why would you not start off the review stating how much it looks like an Tom Bihn Aeronaut? Anyone into bags would think that...total rip-off of the Aeronaut.

Hi tom. For travel do you recommend pixel 3 or 1? Let me know your thoughts please.. Tnx bro
I have the v1 Duffle Pack and I love it, excited to get my Capsule 35L

Really looked forward to this video, great review as always!
As usual another great review
Really love your videos thanks for all the reviews!!! ❤️
Great review guys 👍😎
Any chance you're doing a review on the Kathmandu Litehaul 38L? Looks a really great pack but can't find many reviews about it.
This seems really similar to the Tom Bihn aeronaut as mentioned by others; any chance of a review comparing them??

I’d go with Tom Bihn. Just make sure to get the frame sheet with it.
it's the AER onaut 40

I see you using the MX ergo mouse 😏😏😏😏😏 nice choice Tom
At first glance I thought Heeeeey, has Tom Bin has updated their Aeronaut range??😂😂
I love the ninja turtles from the 90s! But don’t need to be a walking turtle in a half shell.

@@PackHacker That's awesome! :)
Why is there no Aer Tech Sling 2 review from you guys?
When a review on Thule subterra carry-on duffel 40l, pls? Thx great channel!
Hey Gaetano! We currently have no plans to review the Thule Subterra Carry-On 40L, but you can check out all of the Thule gear we have had our hands on here: packhacker.com/travel-gear/thule/ 😊

DO you anticipate those weather guard zippers will loosen up with use, over time?
Kirk Faulkner yes, I own three bags and they all got smoother with use. Amazing brand, that seems expensive until you look at the competitors’ prices.
Wow, that main zipper is such a deal breaker, how did they let that get through the design process?
do another best carry on!
Random non-bag question. Where did you get the fingerless wool gloves, can you share a link?
Hey T Scott! These are the Outdoor Research Fairbanks Fingerless Gloves packhacker.com/travel-gear/outdoor-research/fairbanks-fingerless-gloves/ 😊

Does this fits 17 inch laptop?
Thanks for the review! whats your height btw
Hey! You can find the heights and torso sizes of the whole team here: packhacker.com/about/team/ 😊

Already have the Aer Travel Pack 2, still my favorite travel bag till date. But this bag, hard pass for me. Looking like a ninja turtle.
it is so big.. looks like an upside down gym bag with a strap for the back..overall looks sleek
Wonder if its comfortable to carry for women?
This bag too big for the gym? I’m using a North Face Recon. Carry weight belt, lifting shoes, hangs of clothes, towel, water etc.
Are the zippers lockable?
Hey Christopher! The zippers are lockable on the main compartment, top organization pocket, and the laptop compartment. 😊
- Rebecca
Cool
Ha! I literally JUST saw an ad for this pack, and am seriously considering. I'm comparing it to www.nomatic.com/collections/all
Thanks for reviewing!
It looks bigger then 40l

Looks like Tom Bihn duffel bag 😕
But have laptop compartment
@@c2rr9on and probably a better carry experience.
It looks so dumb on your back ! Nah~
Yea
Just look to much like big box on your back
Why are big jiggly zipper pulls stil a problem, is nobody smart enough to figure this out? put some rubber coating over them at the factory.
year after year, we just don't see any improvements in this market..
日本のカプセルホテルにインスパイアされたのか?
Aeronaut rip-off 🤔
Better designed than the aeronaut imo
Design might be clean, realisation and haptic Chinese cheap even if good and durable materials. Not exciting at all, pretty basic.
Get Cotopaxi bag then. The opposite of aer
Cordura Ballistic nylon, ykk aqua guard all around. Not cheap.
Aer has a terrible return policy. Almost adversarial and hostile to customers. 14 days with original packaging and it’s up to them if they want to refund.
Such a Tom Bihn rip off.
