Chelimo was phenomenal, Tanui lethal. Khalid Skah-devastating. But unfortunately, out of misplaced self-confidence, Skah underestimated his opponents ,the unpredictable and indomitable Kenyans,and he ended getting devasted himself as the gold medal evaporated right in front of his eyes. The race however, was a thriller.

The sacrifice that Chelimo made was commendable. It passed the 5,000 to world record. Then it was a matter of holding on at a rate of 2.50 so that Skah had no chances.

من الجزائر: لولا الخطأ التكتيكي من خالد سكاح،وانه ترك لهم توسعة الفارق إلى(60 م) لما استطاعوا ان يصمدوا أمام سرعته النهائية إطلاقا.
اتذكر ايام خالد سكاح العربي الوحيد الذي تالق في إختراق الضاحية( وهو أصعب من المضمار ).
والله احب خالد سكاح لله في الله .
