Hi hi ! I missed a small optimization note - just like Stargaze II, Stargaze I can also be instantly cancelled with skills, so instead of just doing something like Stargaze V -> Dodge -> Fire -> Stargaze II, you can do:
Stargaze V -> Dodge -> Stargaze I -> Fire -> Stargaze II, for a little extra damage! Basically - you should be fitting a Stargaze I before every natural skillcast that follows a dodge.
Man, her kit is so deceivingly advanced... and I LOVE IT.
I'm Having trouble with 15:51 Stargaze IV > cancel dodge > Fire > Cast time back always back to Stargaze I no matter i spam it. Quick Charge already lv 30
@@mmkeigaThat might be because of your cooldown reduction. Without at least one line of Cascade/QCD, fire won't be up in time.
@@Maygi Found it sis, it’s because Last Mastery point : 300 % time after dodge

I've used your guide for deep dungeons in ffxiv, I'm so happy to discover you covering my favorite character in this game too! I so glad to know I'm in good hands with the math to back it up. Thanks for the great guide as always, i learned a lot about optimization with things other guides haven't mentioned like pushing out stargaze ii for maximizing dps, and the difference between cancelling stargaze ii vs v with skills/dodge, im excited to try it out. Also thank you for including small things like cd time and multipliers on the skills/attacks, it's so hard for me to visualize what i should be doing to optimize without them, or things like how quick cast doesn't stack with not leylines, which i didn't feel like it did but it's very nice having confirmation it doesn't.

I want to get to other characters eventually, but there's so much to master with every character. I am totally not qualified to make other character videos until I give them their fair share of time to learn all the tricks - I still have plenty of content to cook for Io alone, which says something about the depth of the mechanics !

I have a question and I apologize if this was mentioned in the video as I skimmed through some parts. I always anim. cancel Stargaze V into a skill, but I see you mentioning dodge-cancelling first and then casting a skill. However, there are some moments in your video where you do cancel Stargaze V into another skill. Is there a reason for preference of dodge-cancelling the Stargaze recovery animation instead of skill-cancelling? I mean besides when all skills are on cooldown. Thanks again for the amazing video!
Hi hi! It's just some older footage here and there haha... wanted to mix it up with the scenes because, as you may imagine, 99% of the footage I collected was either PBaha or Pyet-A and I was like yeah its time for a shift in scenery

My only question is how is skill damage calculated? Do skills crit on the same crit rate as normal attacks or is it just based on raw damage?
Skills are attacks that just use skill damage/skill cap modifiers instead of that of other attacks. The mechanics with crits and everything is the same!
This is BY FAR the best guide creator I've watched till now. No disrespect to the other creators but I have to admit this guide is so clean and well detailed. My only wish is a guide for all characters like this.

I DO want to cover other characters eventually, but as you might imagine, it's a ton of work for this format haha ~ something I'm going to experiment with later will be some super short-format guides (like 2 minutes or something), so I can have some more bite-sized projects in between the bigger ones (also because I think they're totally useful!)~

This guide is almost too good
firs toff this video is amazing ty so much for making it. Second do you know the % dmg increase the advanced rotation is over standard
If you compare it to a standard rotation that takes gravity well, it's at least 20% better.
I reparsed both with the same stats, and got 25m on standard, 30m with advanced.
Finaly! A "GUIDE" in YT, not a fking showcase and obligatory read of ingame descriptions. Argumented, well detailed, with options and foresight for tech used. Maygi are you single? Could i interest you in a blind date?

In the video Maygi says you have innate stout heart when casting star gaze?
But on the dummy i get interrupted when charging star gaze still? EDIT: You get stout heart when you get the quick cast feature.

For the weapon inbue, you are going to want Cascade 4/5 so you can get the most value from cascade. Unlike alot of other sigils, Cascade maxes out at 20 so if you get 15 from Sigil and 4/5 from Weap, its hot

great guide super helpful. only 2 questions before getting the terminus weapon what weapon do you recommend? and what stone do you recommend slotting in weapon?
The crit and weak point weapons are both good (the weak point one has a much higher base ATK which is helpful in the early game), but the Ascension weapon is good when fully built. You need them all maxed out eventually anyway, though!

oh dont worry if the lucilius raid is very mechanic heavy and isn't a pushover i'll definitely cover that in ff14 raid style guide (^: i love illustrating mechanics
would be interesting to see raid planner for fight for simple mechanic like supernova in proto like G1 G2 G3 G4 for each turret responsible and which corner they go to for to reduce a friendly hit
or mechanic break down of some fight like i still have no idea why Pyet-A second firefly give less time to break all the orb.
People clear the content no problem but I don't see any content creator talk about the detail of the mechanic mostly will be like just DPS it or just dodge it

Perhaps eventually... as you might imagine, it takes a tremendous amount of hours haha... it took me like 3 days of editing until 6 AM every day for the video alone, not to mention the testing process and text guide ... !
How did you get the last three slots on your terminus weapon? Mine fully upgraded but those three slots are not there.
I believe gravity vortex should be a good link time extender. Abilities that persist for a long time and do many separate instances of damage usually are.
was considering io as my 2nd character after finishing up my zeta build, but gotta get that terminus weapon first kekw
ive been focusing on narm, eugen, and cag. now i wana try someone new and it was between percival and io. i was really looking forward to percival because his flame attacks just look cool but he seems to be incredibly basic. io seems much more involved to actually do good.

Oof, that note on Crit Damage sigils... I guess I never bothered wondering if it was additive with the 50% from the stinger masteries and whatever else is in the mastery tree. Gonna have to give my sigil setups a once-over.
