The Cartier Santos Carree in the solid yellow gold is a grail watch. Especially in the unpolished condition you've found it in. One day it will be my time to sip hot chocolate and trudge through a snowstorm to pick up my grail Cartier.

Hello Michael and Christian. I always enjoy your vids. I have fallen deeply down the same rabbit hole as you and your followers. Vostok, Casio, Orient, Bulova, Hamilton, Rotary, Merkur, Shinola, Pagani, Timex, San Martin and Mondaine constitute my collection. My question to you is: If you didn't have any watches at all, which 3 (or 5, take your pick) would you choose? I ask, mainly, because, having about 50 watches and only 2 wrists, I would like some guidance on this matter, please. I dare say your viewers would, too. Keep on keeping on. Best. Depending on your style and budget I don’t think you can go wrong with SS Rolex, gold Rolex, JLC ultra thin moon or reverso, Cartier, last one is a wild card, go with something u love. Vintage panerai, omega, zenith, etc. just my .02

Food for thought, John, and thanks for your reply. It's an intriguing question to ponder. What really matters is that people continue to be enthused by watches. Personally, I'd go Oris Big Crown Pointer Date (Roberto Clemente) - the grail, Tissot PRX Automatic (white dial with rose gold), and a Bulova Accutron. Must make room for a Casio Royale, as a beater watch, one that I aleady own. That's not to forget that I'm very happy with much of what I've collected to date. Pesonal taste and style, as you say.. I really am a sucker for a small seconds complication. Best. Mark.
I wear my two-tone Santos at least 4-5 days a week.
It's so hard to describe how slim it wears without putting it on to find out.
I love the understated elegance of a Cartier watch. I wear my Cartier way more often than any of my Rolex's...

Referring to people just 5 years younger than you as "those kids" is icky.
First of all, high school students are 13-17. That’s 10-14 years younger than me. Second, they are kids to me. Just like I am a kid to so many of ny friends and colleagues in their mid thirties and beyond. There’s nothing icky about that. But I’m certain I know why you found it icky, and how terrible that is…

At first I thought you were doing a case study on yourself, which would have been odd to begin with. But this isn’t a case study. I’m not sure what the purpose of this is besides try to drum up business for yourself in a different way. Maybe it will work. Time will tell.
