I went today and got my brand new GT225 with a Volvo 300HP. Took out this afternoon and loved it, so much power. I was cruisen west point at 50 MPH.

I've owned Glastron boats since the early 70s and they're really well built boats. My first was a '72 model Swinger 18 footer. They do cost a little more than some but they're worth it.

Back in 73, my dad bought a 73 Glastron v186 Swinger with a 74 Mercury 150. We ran it for years. I had a 97 Glastron SE 175 with a 3.0 liter Volvo. After 8 years and over 400 hours we traded for a 2010 MX 185 with a 3.0 liter Mercruiser MPI. 2 years later we love it and no problems. Go buy a Sea Ray, slow, heavy and overpriced. Genmar failed and was quickly bought out with production continuing in Michigan. It was the economy stupid not VEC that got Gemar.

Bullshit incredible accuracy. You should see the shoddy job they did on our 2005. And using 304 stainless steel screws instead of 316 means that the fibreglass now has tea staining. And it's not a nice gelcoat finish on those vec hulls, its a cheap painted finish. get a searay instead. Seriously. No wonder VEC went bankrupt in 2010.
