This game is so underrated because it’s near impossible to sell someone on how incredible the immersion is until you get them in there to experience it for themselves. I love the emphasis on survival sakhal offers.. truly feels like you are constantly battling the environment and the map, ontop of the players (and bears) it’s been an absolute blast.
Sumrak, the solo creator of Namalsk, is actually now the creative lead of DayZ at Bohemia. I am sure this is why Frostline was made - so he could make a proper version of his Namalsk ideas,

Watching you snipe dudes with the AK101 at NWAF tents while Aces spotted from a distance is what gave me the willpower to get through highschool all those years ago (I maybe shouldn't have been watching your videos with earbuds and my phone under the table during math class, but it didn't turn out so terrible in the end)
i have now 100+ hours in sakhal and played a few hours almost every day since release and i absolutely love it! i am getting lost in the beauty of the countryside and i have the feeling that there is still so much I haven't discovered. glad you like it too. you are always playing the same stuff I am playing, that's why i love your content!
I don't know when it was, but I remember watching you play DayZ live playing with Markstrom. Tarkov Wipe was coming, and DayZ update was coming out. You were split between which games you were going to play and stream because you loved both of them. Glad to see you back on DayZ as it is still a fun game!
You should check out Equinox Dayz. They have the Sakhal snow and weather effects but Chernarus map. Extremely fun I’ve felt like it’s a whole new map in itself.
I am not playing Sakhal, but I have been playing the OG map. Learning the systems. Looting military camps and, in general, having a great time. Thanks for turning me on to yet another fun game!
Agreed about the experiences with other players to this point. I have more experiences with other players in the past week than I have in the past year. Everyone was resorting to cannibalism on the first day or two and I found a guy with a fire. Talked to him, talked for a couple and he asks me, “do you have human meat?” I said no I don’t. He got closer and then said “oh. But you do.” I ran into a group of 3. Was tied up and force fed for a bit, not just KOS. Was able to get out of the rope and box someone before they put me down. Just don’t get that on chernarous anymore
Been there since the early beginnings, especially remember the DayZ tournaments in Pavlov. Glad you're back with some DayZ even though I stopped playing it after they've changed the game engine but I still enjoy watching it.
you always have been my first favorite dayz youtuber. even to this day i go back to watch your 0.61 and 0.62 version videos of the game. i love how they feel. you and acesfury always were the most entertaining duo.
I miss all these aspects of DayZ. When it was a more niche community it was so cool having these epic adventures and stories that you made with strangers you'd meet in the wild while trying to survive. Ever since it became more popular it attracted this crowd of CoD/PUBG gamers that want to play DayZ like a battle royale FPS instead of a survival game that happens to include FPS characteristics. Now everyone just has a Kill On Sight Always mentality and you dont even get to interact. You barely make friends or have cool stories. Even if you dont want to play like that, this behavior forces you to assume everyone is out to murder you instantly and makes you want to avoid interactions especially if you have good gear and loot on you that you dont want to lose it after days or weeks of surviving.
Been loving the DayZ content, my only criticism is the quality of the footage when watching a VOD on youtube. Its fine when you're slow playing or standing still but as soon as you move at speed, it goes to shit. I know its a youtube thing, its just rough to watch
Mods mixed with official devs seems to be the best result. Modders go off too far sometimes. They need direction and official knowledge as well as polish.
i can't stand playing namalsk... there's nothing "Hardcore" about having to sit next to a fire every 10 minutes. Get's so god damned boring. 'Dang, I ran 28 feet from the fire.. time to build another fire to get my buff back.' -Namalsk
The great thing about namalsk is that you are never truly safe. On Frostline you find a filtering bottle and some bones of a fresh spawn, and you can f off into the woods, never see anyone and live forever. On namalsk you are always one wrong step away from death. You spawn, warm up and want some gear. You have to cross one of three narrow land bridges or risk it and swim across. Once across the nr.1 PVP location is right there making it quite likely to have an encounter. If you make it past that dangerous area, then the cold/starvation/environment really kicks in. You will have to make a fire at one of the predetermined fire spots, once again making it likely to bump into other players, and you will have to fight wildlife that mostly spawns down south. Should you make it past all of that, you then have the option to go back up and do the "quest" that this map has. On namalsk you are always one bullet away from being in serious trouble whereas on frostline, the only thing that can kill you is... really nothing. Running out of bandages maybe. You get jumped and shot, run into the woods. You are cold, make a fire or go to a hotspring. You are thristly and hungry, fish and find a spring. You want loot, go to one of the numerous militarry bases scaterred across the map. Once you get past the cold, there is nothing dangerous on Frostline.
Ppl with 1000s of hours were dying like crazy after Frontline first released. How is it not dangerous ppl were either dying from being sick or starving cus they can't eat anything without getting sick lol
Why should there be? Map is new, features will be added upon feedback. But not all maps should be brainless carnage that Namalsk is. This map can be played longer, its much more interesting to explore. I play on Intenz servers, and if u are a solid Dayz Player, not even that server is hard. Game is out to long for it to be hard. For me its how long can i play a map and what i can do in it, rather then hard difficulty, cuz u can easily get around anything

I started playing yesterday after telling myself I wasn't gonna spend so much on it after they gave Livonia away. Love the map, but haven't seen a single animal yet. It's like they packed the streamer servers full of wildlife to show hunting is viable then turned them off to match all the other DayZ maps. Can't even get wolves to show up
