Get those little Velcro dots and put a dot on the underside of your ink pad so you can attach the dauber to the ink pad. That way you always have the right pad with the right ink.
Annie, have you ever done your tile and then decided afterwards to add the distressed ink to the tile? I am thinking you can do that and you may need to restate the lines but hopefully it would not disturb the overall tile and patterns.
this is great--I have a question about the paper---I thought the cold-pressed was smoother than the hot-pressed & would give a better result with tangling. What is your opinion on that?
Hi Lynn. Thanks and no, it's the opposite. The hot press is much smoother. Cold press is for people who do a lot of loose washes with their watercolors.
I generally let them air dry, though I have used a blow dryer. I never get bubbles BUT if the paper curls a bit, you can spray it lightly with water ON THE BACK, wipe it with a sponge or paper towel lightly and weight the paper until dry. That will flatten it out and maybe also take care of the bubbles.
Annie thank you for this tutorial. Because of this I've ordered the distressed oxidized and can't wait to try. You area great teacher and 🎨 artist.
Thanks so much. You won't be disappointed. So much fun to see the reaction take place.
Awesome video and instructions. Thank you for sharing!
Glad it was helpful! Have fun with your own colored backgrounds. Kind of addictive!

Annie, what is the title of the project you did that turned into an envelope? Is there a video on your UToob channel that show it? Thanks!

Hi Sherry. I haven't tried that yet but it's a good idea worth giving a try . Will experiment with in when I get a chance. Thanks!
I couldn’t turn volume on, so I might have missed where you got those daubers
Sorry I'm just answering. Got them from the Ranger Ink site, same place as where the distress oxides are from.

Love this demonstration with Tim Holtz Distress Oxides. Which Hot Press paper were you using for these tiles?
Thank you!
Thanks, Lorna. I used Arches 140-lb hot press I'm pretty sure. There are several good papers out there.
How did you dry the paper without bubbles?
