I find it pleasant and harmonious that her voice matches her poetry in calmness and clarity. I find her insights inspiring, especially the ones that arise from unlikely places. I enjoyed "Mathematics" because it revealed that secret fear that artists have--that we're not doing something "useful"-- and then she trounces this theory at the end by suggesting that artists have a place after all-- their work "enlarges the world"... or "our idea of the world". Snaps to you, Ms. Hishfield.
Mathematics -this poem does not ring true. What is really the heart in this poem? This isn't someone looking inside -it's someone looking outside -and who cares about that? The artist seems to have very little personal energy. she's reading her poem like it is a poem...not like it's passion or fun or hate. Really ugly flowers in the vase too. I guess this is what pretenciousness gets you. I hope she's written better poetry, but after three poems I can't take any more.
Ms. Hirshfield is one of my most loved poets...she is so amazing.
Love Jane. She resonates so much love and blessing .
Jane is able to draw great poetry out of the simple things of ordinary life. Nothing is imaginary except this poetry itself.

Ahh Jane, thank you sister
Hey, if poetry's not for you, that's ok. It's not for everyone. I personally love it. However, I see your point. :)

I really enjoy her poetry. Just hate the sound her "S"s make when she's talking. Cringeworthy...
