These are second-generation SHGs? I know you mentioned these are the "Z" model, but the older "first-generation" SHGs happen to have a different sound (and no strobe reflector), so these probably are the "second-generation" to say. Also, does the simplex 4004 have a fire alarm annunciator? I thought it did :-/. Not sure though

You shouldn't have put in a blue LED, blue is basically used for security purposes... Try a different color... Not sure which one, but other than blue, red, yellow, or green...
I have a question, on a mini system I have a harrington signal RSG pull and a gentex commander 3. I have a silence switch wired to the system. On the gentex do I need to flip down switch 1 and 2 or leave them up???? I don't want to fry it so I haven't tried yet
Legitboss1224 If you leave switches 1 and 2 turned on, the horn and strobe will sound when you connect power to EITHER the horn or strobe terminals. If you turn off switches 1 and 2 the horn will only sound when you connect power to the horn terminals and the strobe will only flash when you connect power to the strobe terminals.

If it were to put a system in my house, I would have an alarm in the garage because it is connected to the house (unlike your garage)
