It’s not that he’s not loved, it’s the fact that he’s one of the originals who did this on pirate radio stations and underground scenes. Ghetts fans are 35+yr olds who most probably like myself don’t feel the need to subscribe to every artist I like. I can just search them when I want to listen to them. Not many of the old school artists have a big following, but they all have the biggest respect in the scene. It’s just a generational thing I’d say. But the OG’s could pick up a mic and shut down any of this generations artists with stage presence and crystal clear, meaningful bars and lyrics. Quality over quantity 👌🏾. Great channel guys, keep digging into the UK scene 🇬🇧
Ghetts deffo top 5. The thing with ghetts is that he was a main driving force in grime, but grime wasn't really commercial in the UK until the last 5-10 years. Ghetts didn't get radio play in the early years so his fan base was limited to the true fans of the genre. His also not that active on social media platforms. I'd compare him to a jadakiss. Fans of the art know his one of the best, but arm chair fans will never understand the depth of music his produced.
Classic! Ghetts has always been in my top 5 as has Kano, if you want more tracks featuring Ghetts there is Artillery, Kano also did a version of this. Shellington Crescent ft Chip & Don't take it personal with Cadet
It is mad to think he only has 88k subs i think old school grime fans will have him in their top 5 and i am one of them, But Wretch 32 only has 170k as well and Kano doesn't have much more than Wretch and all of them are in my top 5. More Kano Ghetts and Devlin pls.
A lot of uploads on other channels instead of building their own. That’s not a shot i agree with your comment completely same as mic righteous lowkey etc
He doesnt really use his TH-cam often & isnt too bothered with that, he rarely uaes Twitter. But his releases still do very well think his last album went as high as #2 when it was out
The uk rap game up until the last 5 years or so was completely ran by channels. Most artists would release their songs on TH-cam channels like GRM Daily because it gave them much more exposure. Recently that’s changed but most of the old school guys when they were at their peak did this, hence why they don’t have a massive amount of subscribers.
Plus people don’t really subscribe over here as much. It’s such a small country that people just hear about things through word of mouth much more easily
Can't miss: Fire in booth 2 - (see all of Ghetts) Artillery - (hard tune still) Karma - (storytime) Class of Deja - Kano X d double e - (masters at flow) To name a few.
Easy top 5. Underground as fuck for long time. Kids wont know him put it that way. His name was MC Ghetto back in the day but changed to Ghetts as its more marketable
Ghetts is old uk grime, but he’s undoubtedly top 5 to ever do it along the likes of Kano, Devlin, P money they’ll never be artists like them the genre has changed but they’re always be forever known at the best
In the earlier days like this duppy his cadence was a lot faster and more aggressive and he was always a wild card, now hes slowed down more and his pen game has hit levels most other rappers can't reach, hes just won the pioneer award at the mobos and his new album and conflict of interest have gained him many more fans, hes my number 1 easily and hes now in many of peoples top 3 or 5
Ha ha, you’re right - this Daily Duppy is absolutely one of the best, indeed, it is my favourite one ever. No one has ever come close to beating this one for me. Ghetts’ energy is so crazy, the flows, lyrical schemes, cadence - blows your mind. It’s been the one to beat for years. When Wretch 32 did a Daily Duppy a few years back, he made a joke at the end, that he’d taken the Duppy crown from Ghetts - acknowledging that most of their peers thought this Duppy was the best. Ghetts is so tekky with it , and refuses to dumb down his artistry, therefore lesser ears that have not acclimatised to his skill level often don’t get him, don’t understand him. This Duppy is the first thing I ever heard from Ghetts, and I did not get him at first. At all. In fact, I hated this! I thought he had no rhythm (I cringe when I think about this now!). The whole thing sounded very messy to my untrained ears when compared to other MCs I was listening to. Ghetts seemed too abstract and awkward, it was too much to get my head around. Then something happened… my ears levelled up. Suddenly I could hear the sense in the crazy pockets Ghetts was in. I could understand the unorthodox structures of his bars, and the incredible levels he was bringing to the game. I must’ve listened to this Duppy over 100 times and it never gets old. I can hear something new in it every time. Ghetts is like a virtuoso jazz musician, compared to most MC’s more basic/standard skills. He’s a master of the craft, but his musicality is so challenging - in the way that jazz is - that listeners with simpler tastes do not pay attention to understand the complexities of what he does… that’s why he does not have the millions of subscribers he deserves - layman’s ears are too basic to rate him accurately. But the fact that all his peers like Wretch, Kano, Stormzy, Simz, Wiley, Dizzee, Chip, pretty much anyone you can name, all rate him so so highly - this should tell you all you need to know about the unbelievably high quality of this man’s work. Ghetts is a true artist and may be underrated and underappreciated in general, compared to what he should be. The music he’s been making in recent years is generally more accessible than his earlier work. He now tends to pick flows and cadences which are easier to access, and he’s been picking up a lot of accolades as a result as more and more people are being turned on to the artistry he brings to the game. I guess it’s easier for people to get into his modern stuff, understand his brilliance, and then go back and have their mind blown for a second time by Ghetts as he was in earlier years… like some sort of sonic bomb 😅 He’s also like a Fine Wine 😅 getting better and better with every project. Ghetts is my favourite male MC of any era, any country, and any genre, I can’t wait to see what he does next.
Definitely need to check out the lord of the mics that's where grime blew up from kano wiley skepta to many names to mention have clashed on them can't believe you never watched a lotm. Much love brothers
Ghetts to me is number one but i get this one is only for people who love bars and double entendres. But his slow flows he has in the bag aswell ghetts its so versatile.
Top reaction as usual, and just to let you know his bar where he says Who's been going this hard since twitch got sent down? Noone! Well twitch is releasing a track from inside prison produced from his PS4 on the 9th Feb!!! I'm gassed for this
Where he says this east boy’s west bound meaning he’s getting to the money as West London is generally the rich part of London where he’s tryna move to from the east
I might be wrong but I get the impression people don't necessarily sub to artists individual pages so much as just checking in when they have a project out and subbing to the distribution pages like GRM for example. Ghetts definitely gets a lot of love over here despite not being one of the biggest mainstream rappers
I wouldn’t judge any UK rapper by there numbers of subs on TH-cam guys 😂 there’s millions of ways to consume music and videos and if you ask anyone in the uk that knows anything about music they will know or have heard of Ghetts. Also just saying he may be top 5 is disrespect he’s easily top 3 without a doubt
the boiler room bar referenced boiling a kettle... & a kettle in england, is a watch, hence "oi you take ya kettle off". great reaction as always though man. you guys actually try to catch the bars, and if you don't get something, you're willing to ask your audience to learn. wicked reaction channel.
that's my good ting from "BUSH". he just meant an area in west london called "Shepherds Bush". Bush for short. Obviously if we don't expect anyone outside of london to know the all the areas
You actually hit the nail on the head. Ghetts is a genius artist and one of the best lyricist.. people just aren't use to a style like his. Especially back in these times and beginning of grime
I think it’s better you tested to this one later after getting used to Ghetts Going into this one straight away doesn’t always garner the appreciation it should
Grime and the UK scene was off the back of the garage and pirate radio station era where a lot of, if not all UK talent sharpened their teeth over the years practicing their craft via raves and radio sets but it was always underground and not ‘mainstream’. ghetts launched his youtube way later than jme and skepta etc but ghetts has been top 3 selected for like 20 years because he is multi faceted. Too many flows created, patterns, multis, wordplay, metaphors, road bars, conscious, storytelling etc..not many compare.
Thanks for doing this one ive been waiting for it , I hope you guys enjoyed the word play. "Aint Ghetto another word for hood? Guess im designed to go over your head" His last bar basically sums him up . If you are looking to do some more Ghettts in future i suggest Ghetts- Mad about bars ,he went smooth with it there.
He has a pretty chill track with someone called lights called vibe we bring. Its laid back and not really about the bars but mentioning it because what it does is really gives off that puff and mase feel from the 90s.
"Ghetts this, ghetts that" Yall oughtta "ghett" going with them Future Posse Cuts by Dirty Dike! If you are refusing because you worry I will run out of new and exciting ways to request this, dont worry. Theres still much for you guys to discover and for me to request but these Cuts are a good place to start 😅
there are a fair few mcs from the UK who are all on a similar level at the top, a bit of personal preference definitely comes into it, Wretch 32, Dot rotten, Chip, Dave, Devlin, Skepta, Kano,Ghetts are all some legends I'd say Wretch 32 is the best rapper in the UK, dot rotten is the best grime rapper and Dave is the best artist in my opinion.
Love you guys reaction 🙌🏾 been watching for a while but I’ve noticed you reacted to the “fire in the booths” not the daily duppys and his other one is even better Also please react to Ghetts - Microsoft word; and Laps

I rate him at Number 1 but thats just me his bars flow lyrics wordplay are too much
@@ryancairns3111fr man. His discography too is the vest in the uk imo

Need some of devlin and ghetts tracks thay got together like triton
He killed it at Westwood against about 5 of the bbk members and still spun all of them
A lot of uploads on other channels instead of building their own. That’s not a shot i agree with your comment completely same as mic righteous lowkey etc
It’s because they’re pushing 40 and most of their fans are the same. You don’t judge 90s rappers on how many followers they have
@@levelofsnipes7378 Exactly i agree, i didn't even bother looking at how many subscribers any of them had until they mentioned it in this reaction.

Easy top 5. Underground as fuck for long time. Kids wont know him put it that way. His name was MC Ghetto back in the day but changed to Ghetts as its more marketable
Ghetts is from Newham in East London. E6 is there postcode. When he mentions the 6 that's what he's referring to.
Ghetts is God.
The people who don't 'get' Ghetts are the very people who actually buy Drake albums. Ghetts does not do irrelevant twoddle.
Ghetts is old uk grime, but he’s undoubtedly top 5 to ever do it along the likes of Kano, Devlin, P money they’ll never be artists like them the genre has changed but they’re always be forever known at the best
