And yes if you could share some landmarks/points along the Lycian route you took to drive the car from the village of Ucagiz to the base parking point of Simona castle !
There is only one small road from Ucagiz to Simena castle. It's a short drive where you really can't get lost. Once you get closer to the castle you'll pass a small industrial area (if I remember correctly), but just continue on until you see the castle from a big dirt 'parking lot.' It's possible to get out along the road to enjoy the views, but the Lycian tombs are also all around the Simena Castle, so you don't need to go out of your way to see Lycian ruins before making it to the castle...
OMG this was our favorite day!! We can't wait to go back there and actually sleep in this tiny town. Can't recommend it enough. It;s the perfect place to do nothing and just enjoy the beautiful views!!
So glad you liked it, thank you! Bodrum is on our list for next time :) Have so much fun and let us know if you have any questions. This was one of our favorite places 💕
Hello, I saw your videos while surfing TH-cam. Unfortunately 2.5 years late 🙁. I am from Turkey and I live in the capital Ankara. Thank you for coming to Turkey and your beautiful videos. After I watched your videos, I feel you are like a member of my family (I am 64 years old). I hope you will visit Ankara too next time. I wish you my best. NOTE: You are a very beautiful couple that complement each other 😘
Hi! I'm glad you stumbled upon our videos. We love Turkey so much, it is one of our favorite places in the entire world (maybe our favorite 😉). We love it because the people are the best! We've only seen the Ankara bus station... hopefully next time we'll really visit your city!
No, we didn't! Can you only visit if you stay/book there? Or can you just spend the day? Next time :) And thanks! So happy you are enjoying the videos! We'll keep 'em coming twice a week ;)
@@waysoftheworld_ No, you don't have to stay there to visit the resort. There are plenty of bars and restaurants for you both to enjoy. We are going there on vacation in June! :)
@@iannelson1031 That gives us a reason to go back!! So happy you're coming to Turkey!! We are still here and we are already thinking when we are coming back LOL if you have any questions, let us know :)
Have you ever watched the vlogs from flying the nest. They have been all over the world and have great tips. You could learn alot just as they did. Just thought it might help and if nothing else it is something to watch lol ❤️
HUGE fans of them over here!! We have been watching them for years now and their story is a major inspiration for us 💜 We hope to be a success story like them as well!! Thank you!! So glad you like them too!!
Guys, how did you miss the chance to tour the Sunken city? In fact, by taking a boat trip from Kaş, which is actually quite affordable, you could see the Sunken City, which is right across the island of Simena, and these boats also take a break in Simena.^^
Yes I know :( It was cash only and we didn't have enough cash. But no worries, we will go back to that area because it was one of our favorite places in Turkey, so we'll do it next time 🙃
@@waysoftheworld_ Oh glad to hear that! Maybe this time you will visit places you have not visited before? For example, the ancient city of Ephesus, Bodrum, Şirince, Akyaka, Göcek, Dalaman, Patara and Iztuzu beaches... There are many beautiful places you can see^^
@@Darkangel1494 that's the plan! we want to explore every corner of Turkey! We are in love with that country and miss it every day! We have dear friends in Dalaman, so we would love to go back there ❤️ Thanks so much for your recommendations!
Could you please share ( if you know ) - Are there Kayak tours possible and available from the town of Semona to the Kekova Sunken city ? .. We are planning to visit the Kas after 2 weeks ( mid of July 2023 ), if your reply come before that it will be great help :) ! ..Thanking in advance. More power to you !
hello - I don't think the kayak are possible from Simena. Typically you book with an organization in Kas and then the transport you to Ucagiz to start the tour. Maybe leaving from Ucagiz also works for you?
@@waysoftheworld_ yes leaving from Ucagiz will work for us.. we would like to spend time in kayaking over sunken city of kekova but don’t want to invest in a full day trip from Kas ( as we will be in Kas for 2 days only ) . If you know any source in Ucagiz that will help :) Thanks in advance
