Heyo! :) It's Sara-chan here.
This is probably the most cringe TLK AU I have ever made because of the written dialogues I put on it 🙃 but a lot of people have been asking me to put them for years and I also wanted to try.
The entire plot of this video is inspired by the song "labour" by Paris Paloma and a little bit by personal experiences.
The many sexist scenes and psychological/fisical abuse featured in the video are NOT meant to discriminate or generalize about men, they are just for plot needs and personal reasons.
I know this isn't the brightest AU I've ever made, but between work and other stuff, it took me 1 month to finish it 😅

It's really scary to trust people. Even if you grew up in love, you expect a lot from a partner. And when you come from different families with different characters, you have to work very hard to create a good family and be happy.
I don't know if it happened by accident, or if you did it intentionally, but I followed one thing: Sarabi resigned herself to her fate, Kiara tried to solve everything peacefully, Nala firmly defended herself. This is very similar to the development of generations in life. Previously, it was impossible to say a word against your husband, and divorce was generally considered a disgrace.
I am so glad that, working with, for the most part, a children's audience, people like you raise such problems and do not tell fairy tales. We can create our own fairy tale, as Nala did. Thank you, Sara!

I'm so glad someone noticed it!! 🥹 yes it was intentional, I wanted to show different situations of the "woman figure" in society.
I just wish I did more scenes with Simba trying to earn Nala's trust at the end but, honestly, the video was already in the 8th minute and I was tired 🥲 I also didn't want to re-use some masks/scenes too much.

When I saw this terrible figure (9:56), I thought, "No, I'll watch this video tomorrow, and now go to sleep!" But I looked today. I was wondering what you were going to talk about this time. And at the moment with Mufasa, Sarabi and Kiara (0:34 - 0:46), as with one click, I realized and screamed at the whole house "Aah, I see! Women!" 😅😅

it is a faithful representation of how the woman has walked until finally dominating the storm over time, starting with how the value of the woman depended on how much she gave him she could offer to the man 0:35 , but her relevance was always chained to a man, not by herself and the children who grew up in this environment, adopted these behaviors, regardless of whether they were good or bad, it was normalized and it was believed that things were like that (we clearly have here is the example of Kovu that my disappointment continues to hurt strongly -.-") Sarabi just resigned herself to what she had to do and stay in that hole without seeing its value 2:34 - 2:42 , Kiara took the first step of the change but it was not enough because she still continued to doubt her strength and on herself ,thinking that by running away or starting a new life with Kovu everything would be fine 2:15 (a detail that I notice when she attacks Kovu 2:34 , she sees the scar and immediately retreats 4:37, without attacking back 4:41, even doubting her own strength, we can also think about how she was raised and that behavior of not questioning the male)
Finally Nala did not doubt her or her strength, we can see when she growls at Simba without hesitation when he enters her territory, 5:29 the lack of doubt that her mother undoubtedly lacked, also concentrating on her, changing and becoming strong and not idealizing or hoping that with a man her life will be better (as Kiara possibly did, 3:20 but it was not what she expected 3:28)
- When I saw Nala's bright eyes seeing how her daughter and Simba are living together lovingly 9:50, I shed a tear :,) , that finally, it's finally over, we can finally start again, we were finally able to create an environment of respect and love, a true home :,), I know that we have been through bad things and more than anyone we know how they affect us as time goes by we realize that our parents are not superheroes they are just people like us who are also wrong, let's close that cycle, let's change, be better, we can be better in the future, without making the same mistakes, and thanks to strong women who dared to raise their voices for a better future for their children, now both men and women have the same rights and opportunities and we hope to live in what is expected of a society of equality and respect, it really makes me proud to be able to say that nowadays in animation, women are no longer a princess who needs to be rescued, women are represented as someone else in the group, (Fuli x,d came to mind) strong characters with personality, many times boys underestimate women reducing them to people who they should take care of, when they are the ones who should take care themselves of us , (Jasiri comes to mind) we are powerful girls and we do not need anyone to solve our lives, by ourselves can ;)
(I know it's a lot of text, but in a long time a video has made me feel this way and seeing all the hard work and dedication behind it, I think it deserves every word and more)

Of course, the way it was shown earlier with examples of princesses is frustrating, because all they did was being persecuted by the injustice of life, singing songs in the woods and falling in love with the first person they met. And what happened after "they lived happily ever after"? What kind of happiness did they have? It is necessary to work a lot, first of all, on yourself to achieve understanding in a relationship.
Now cartoons are made on different topics, not only about love. I go crazy in a good way when I see how the main characters communicate with their family, friends and people of other cultures. I hope that such large companies as Disney or Dreamworks will go further, but they will not overdo it.
I still hope for a cartoon about the culture of my country (the history is great, the country is old and has seen a lot, and what a culture!)
Modern plots deserve respect.
I was afraid Simba would end up like the past fathers and would be like "im friendly because i want something from you", im glad it's not the case

I love how this portrays real-life situations. Men and women through the generations have been raised to act a certain way. Men with a strong hand, women to provide sons and keep food on the table. But, we see with Simba and Nala that they've stepped away from tradition to give their spouse and child a better life.
I'm a full adult and I absolutely loved this, reminds me of the stuff i'd watch as a kid. Well done. Generational trauma is no joke and you conveyed that perfectly! looking forward to more

I love this so much, I like how you had different generations and each one had a story linked to each other. By the first two males rejecting their female cubs and mistreating their lioness. I’m glad Nala actually found someone who loves her and her daughter Vitani. Perfect story here ❤️👌

Nala and Simba broke the cycle of violence 🥺, I came looking to see art and I found a masterpiece, I can't express all the feeling that I spent looking at this, it's so real for me, I cried at the end, I really had hopes and good expectations of Kovu And in the end I am greatly disappointed...
Mother's Day is coming up and I can only say, guys, respect women, we all have mothers and let's treat women as we would like them to treat our daughters and our mothers, beautiful work Sara ❤

Very well edited, and i loved the little differences between each villains :
Mufasa think that men are stronger and deserve to be superior to the woman, he was deeply disappointed to have a girl because of that
Kovu wasn't like him, he doesn't despise woman, he doesn't despise his daughter because she's a female, he just despise Kids and doesn't seem to want any.
Simba is a caring and loving father and husband.
In the same way, we can see a good evolution in each female generation :
Sarabi chose to accept her husband's treatment, even if it means she had to suffer.
Kiara chose to fight against her husband, she had more this warrior's instinct, but it got her killed because she wasn't prepared enough and she was all alone against him.
Nala win thanks to Simba, not because she needs a male but this taught her that not every men are evil and that you need, sometime, some helps to kill your demon...

Wow this is amazing, Disney should take notes! This could spread awareness amazingly, and it has a topic that is not oftenly mentioned in movies.
Simba and Nala broke a generational trauma, as well as they stopped generational gender-non-equality, which would be amazing movie topics, partly because these are problems that occur almost everywhere in the world, and a lion pride/ lion's life is an amazing way to demonstrate it. You created a masterpiece, hats off everyone!

Gosh this is amazing!! I love that you told such a mature story, considering this is still reality for some women in the world and it is sad honestly. But I love that this story had a happy twist of finally a male treating his wife with respect and loving their daughter. Wish it would be like that more often in real life too.
And the manips are as always top tier and I actually like dialogues in this one, it gives the whole edit a certain vibe and I love it. Absolutely breathtaking work!!

Okay, this made me so emotional, I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS! I don't even know where to start...
At first I wasn't sure if using dialogue was a good idea, but I didn't realize just how much it could do!! Like, it helped you to introduce very serious themes into the AU, and I LOVED THAT! Honestly I think this might be one of my favorite Crossovers/AUs from you (and I think you know that I've seen and loved all of them haha)
You showcased things such as sexism (Kiara being told to hunt because "that's what girls do" was so awful and yet realistic...), trust issues and even trauma in a way that I don't think would be possible if you wouldn't work with dialogue, and I'm so happy you decided to do that (even though I was, as I said, skeptical at first)
The storytelling is so wonderful... the PARALLELS between Sarabi/Kiara/Nala giving birth... I love the similarities between Mufasa and Kovu, and the contrast between them both and Simba. Nala deserved to have someone like this around, and I'm glad someone showed her what real love feels like! But the trauma in her childhood she had to went through for that was huge, and I'm so glad you showed that. I feel so connected to her and Kiara now because of how realistic all of this was. The dialogue allowed for actual pacing that makes sense, instead of characters being madly in love after one encounter. Also, you made me really feel for Sarabi as well - she was hurting so much and couldn't see how abusive her relationship was, meanwhile Kiara stood by and had to watch it unfold, forcing her to run away on the end... and then get hit by a similar situation with someone she trusted the most, with someone she wanted to have a family with. And the awful things Kovu told her... it's like it's taken straight out of a cheater's mouth.
The story is wonderful, I'm so glad Nala had her happy ending, but it makes so much sense how it wasn't just given to her instantly!
Obviously, the technical stuff is also flawless, the attention to detail in your manips is just wonderful... Kovu standing on top of Kiara in the night was such a simple yet great manip! You're so creative with what you do, it's mind-blowing.
Sara, I always tell you that you outdid yourself, but this time? This time this sentence is even more real! Watching you progress throughout the years and making the effort to comment on all your videos has been an amazing experience haha, you should be very proud of yourself for this project, because I absolutely am! Great animation!!!!!!!!!!! Me and my sis loved this crossover! We thought Kovu was going to be nice, and then I thought Kiara was going to live! Toward the end, I was like, "The first one to love his own daughter!" Loved how you sequenced the characters, from Sarabi, Kiara, to Nala, and then Vitani! I also loved the animation of Kovu when he said he'd marry Kiara and Kiara's in Kovu's eyes once she scared him! Then unto all the wonderful animation with Nala, and her eyes looking down in the water. All through the ending!

to be honest i fully thought this was a cringe edit going in but i progressively was like "huh.. this is.. interesting" and honestly, glad I watched through it. sure, the animation is scrappy but that wasn't the focus on this and I could tell, instead the story was. and i was glad I read every little subtitle because it was great. I liked that it went through 3 generations, instead of one or two. Generational trauma is strong and it takes alot of healing, and I think this little movie was just a perfect representation of it.

I have to admit. I am surprised.
There are a dozen or more learning editors who put out AUs which.... don't hold my attention for long.
However, I was completely hooked with how you built up this storyline! There was a lot of emotions and towards the end.... I actually felt really emotional. Very... *VERY* rarely do AUs ever do that. You certainly have a talent for storybuilding and great editing! Not sure if many out there tell you this, but you should feel proud of yourself. Sincerely.
I do wonder what ever happened to Sarabi and Mufasa however, if she just got old or died sad & alone, if she ever stood up for herself or not.

Vitani grew up and came across a lion ( it can be simba or mufasa with dark brown hair ) VITANI and we’ll call him Apollo, they get to know each other , etc . One day Nala sees them both and vitani presents him to her Nala approves of him but simba didn’t . One day simba when to drink water and comes across Apollo, Apollo attacks him and simba dies , Nala saw the whole thing and told her daughter, vitani didn’t believe her mother , and runs away after sometime they get married and have a son (cub kovu but his name will be Leo for now) after sometime vitani goes hunting and finds Nala and Apollo arguing , Apollo attacks Nala but gets interfered by vitani dis time taking her mothers side she breaks up with him , Nala meets leo and the end.
If you don’t like this idea you don’t have to use it

prima di tutto la pazzia di fare un crossover così lungo con tutte queste mask D: PAZZAH! però devo dire che è stupendo, curato nei minimi dettagli ;-; mi è piaciuta molto la scelta di mettere i sottotitoli, aiuta a seguire meglio la storia secondo me. In questo video ci ho visto un po' di quella che, purtroppo, è la mentalità dei nostri parenti più anziani... mia nonna mi chiede sempre quando mai mi troverò qualcuno ed è già proiettata sul matrimonio, io dall'altra parte penso ad obiettivi futuri e non vedo il matrimonio o l'avere figli come uno "step" obbligatorio..
Una volta alla nostra età si avevano già 1 o 2 bambini e ci si doveva sposare per forza, si doveva badare alla casa e ai figli e non si poteva aspirare ad altro, ah e non dimentichiamoci che la parità di genere non esisteva proprio, ad oggi qualcosa è cambiato ma c'è ancora tanta strada da fare.

Mi trovi perfettamente d'accordo con la tua linea di pensiero, anche io attualmente nel 2023 vengo a contatto con persone (e assurdo ma vero non solo over 40 ma anche ragazze/i della mia età o poco più grandi) che vedono la figura della donna come l'appendice dell'uomo e che gli deve per forza qualcosa.
Non importa quanti anni siano passati o quanti cambiamenti abbia portato lo sviluppo tecnologico, mi sono arresa all'idea che ci sarà sempre qualcuno che "resterà indietro" con la mentalità e non potremo fargli cambiare idea.
Onestamente, oltre a provare rabbia per il loro atteggiamento, provo pena per loro e spero di non dovermi abbassare mai a quel livello.

As scary as this truly is, it's scary because this is real stuff that happens to some people, and thats why i personally like this AU, as it shows what manipulative and toxic relationships could look like. These lionesses were taken advantage of and tricked and lied to by their males and it's really sad and scary, but it's a real problem in some relationships. But at the same time, i really like how Nala stands up for herself and her mother and took things slow and careful with simba, and it was happy at the end, but Sarabi just gave into the abuse, and let Mufasa take advantage of her, and Kiara fell for Kovu's trap. It shows generational improvements in relationships from toxic to healthy, and that's quiet realistic and I like that.
I actually and generally feel grateful you made and AU like this. It....kinda tells young lovers to be careful in relationships and know to stand up for yourself and dont be taken advantage of. Good work on the video!
