He was in the underground hip hop scene since he was 13 years old, he has good flow, he has a phenomenal tone, he has wordplay, he writes his own lyrics, he has 2 solo mixtapes, a solo album, and countless collaborations as a solo. If anything, out of the Khiphop rappers I did listen to, RM's lyrics are more meaningful. His songs Yun featuring Erykah Badu, Wildflower ft Youjeen, Still Life ft Anderson paak, Seoul, Lonely, etc are extremely lyrical and beautiful. There's this trend nowadays to think that rap is only about dissing and battling but when looking at the origin of rap, the main purpose of it was to give a voice to Black Americans, to speak about injustices, and to talk about personal experiences and emotions. Keeping than in mind, I think RM is actually a better rapper than the Khiphop rappers I checked out. Y'all can keep your prejudice to yourselves tbh.
