I have some stacking cups and they're a really funny shape - a little like a hat with the bottom rim wavy like a flower. So i call them hats. We do all kinds with them. I say "Where's the hat? The hats on Mummy's head! Its on Dylan's head! The duck is in the hat. The hat is in the bath. Pour water out the hat!" I literally find sooo many uses for them and i feel my little one is really growing in his language comprehension 😍
Just yesterday i put my lo’s stacking ups into the charity bag because she wasn’t really playing with them. Watched your video and now will be taking them out.. it’s such an open ended resource and I didn’t even give it a chance! Thank you for sharing your pearls with us :)
I crocheted some stacking cups as part of the collection of kids stuff I'm making while trying to conceive, and it's fun to think of how I can use them. They're different from plastic cups, but still could do a lot of the same activities with them!
This was very helpful. I'm a first time mom and I feel lost a lot of times when it comes to my child's development. Now I can really make use of his stacking cups
Oh this is very helpful for me!! also, even my Engish level is not high, I can understand what you are saying. Super clear explanation and nice example:) Thanks for sharing valuable information!!
Good.. Please explain etc..? I am into getting more ideas.. somehow my girl started showing resistance in using two words those she started using a year ago..
I am taking a childhood development class and this was a great video! Would you mind if I included it in my presentation about Cognitive Development: Stacking, Nesting and Affixing?
Hello Bryony, this is the first video that I see in your channel, which I felt really useful, and Iam from India and my son is 1 year old, and I really wanted to teach him good English with good American accent, can you help us to find a proper way to learn American accent English from India?
My daughter is two years old and not talking yet. She has some health issues and started to walk just now. Can I use these techniques for her as well. I don't know where to start. She is saying mama but very rarely. Only if she really needs me. She immitate the sound of bye bye but doesn't say it really. And instead of "ok" she is saying "oha". This is everything she says. But she is communicating with us and let us exactly know what she wants.
Hi Patheepa. Love tat you're noticing how your daughter is communicating with you. And hurray for starting to walk! I have a programme for parents just like you - giving you a roadmap for where to start and what to focus on. You can find out more here: www.saltbythesea.com/toddler-talk/
Just got some for my 9 month old but we’re both stuck on getting started. Do i just sit back and watch him figure it out or is there something I can do to help him realize he’s supposed to stack them? All he’s doing right now is hitting them on the floor. I try to “show” him how to do it but he doesn’t really pay attention to me when I do it lol
Great question! There's no 'right way' to play with stacking cups. Your little one might just want to bash them together. I think you'll like this video for more: th-cam.com/video/I_zwPtzzyno/w-d-xo.html
If you look up when children start stacking it can be 12 to 15 months. At the earlier age its more like letting then knock over and modeling for them. Don't worry that they aren't stacking yet.
Hi Anne. That's a very relatable challenge! I definitely have got quicker at stacking the cups to try to manage the frustration. But also, remember, you don't have to stack them up! If your little one just wants to bash them together, roll them around and can't wait for you to stack the whole lot, that's ok too!
My Grandaughter can stack 10 of them inside one another in 35 sec, she's 19mnths old. Its her favourite toy. But she hardly says any words at all , still babbling.
This is super helpful- I have very little practical ideas on what to do with the baby. thanks so much for making this
So simple but so effective.

Hi Brendan, yes you're welcome to include this, with proper credit of course.
Started using cups with my 5 month old - really helpful and informative video. Thank you👍🏼
So fun to think of you exploring this together at such a young age. Glad the video was useful.

Hey! How can i use it for prelinguistic children?

My 15 months old keeps on throwing them because they make a lot of noise🤦🏻♀️
Well that's great! Stacking cups can totally be a noisemaker toy. You don't have to stack the cups for great learning and connection to happen.
How do you deal if our 1 year old is impatient with stacking. He wants to grab everything right away & get frustrated when the cup doesn’t fit?
Hi Anne. That's a very relatable challenge! I definitely have got quicker at stacking the cups to try to manage the frustration. But also, remember, you don't have to stack them up! I have 8 months girl baby what I must teach her activities please tell
Dear Gowri. She will learn simply by being with you, exploring together. :) th-cam.com/video/6TN6G2qJ2wI/w-d-xo.html
My son is six years old and still nonverbal having autism how can i use these cups in his therapy
We have best speech therapy toys. We would like to collaborate with you

How is she now? My 22 month old is similar and I would love to know as this was 8 months ago! Hope she's doing really well ❤️
