    I built a 94 runner about 5 years ago. I purchased about 80% of the parts off craigslist and Pirate 4x4 classifieds page. Built my own leaf packs front and rear. I used rear yoga leafs up front and Chevys out back. I miss that rig I built but no sooner I built the runner I sold it for and took the money and used it to buy my house.
    Now I can't afford to build another yota! Ugh.... Hahaha! Nice rig man. To be honest I think I had more fun building rigs then I ever did wheeling them. I spend so much time building and making it as right as I can and in the end I didn't want to smash it!

    I bought my first yota three days ago for 2300 with a 3.4 swap. Single cab long bed. Now I'm wanting to do sas with a 4" lift and 35"s and trail gear bumpers and rock sliders like you lol if it were a pickup and not a 4 runner it would be my dream lol

    4runner are generally heavier in the back than pickups. Most of the leaf spring kits are made for trucks so you have to go an inch higher in the rear.

      is it a TG classic 4in in the back or a regular TG 4in in the back (I have a 89' 4cyl runner SAS)

  • @Mechknight73
    @Mechknight73 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    All you'd need now is a 4L turbo diesel (Available from Japan or Australia in front cut form) and possibly a more aggressive front bar. Otherwise, a very professional conversion for one done at home

    These trucks are indipendent front suspension from factory, people such as this guy convert them to a beam or solid axle for better offroading.

  • @YeloSub7
    @YeloSub7  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    For the steering box I bought the mount kit from Trail Gear and drilled new holes to mount it forward about two inches to keep the steering linkage (tie rod & drag link) from binding when flexing the suspension. Thanks for all views and feedback everyone! Let me know what else you guys would like to see. I hope to be posting more soon.

    i have a question why did you use the 4" leafs in the rear instead of the 3" leafs to match the front?

    • @dundeeecroc
      @dundeeecroc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Trail Gear front spring hangers are 1 1/2 inches and you put the 3 in springs up front then it becomes 4 1/2 in and the rear is 4 in, just like my 1985 4runner, I cut off the factory front spring pins and installed the TG 3in springs up front.

    swweet shackles ..?is the rear trussed ? why not it was out please put some metal on the front an a 2 piece roll bar might save yur life if it matters..weld the pre fit bar in and double cover the interior lift the carpet to reinforce the floor not that easy but since you weld so nice sleeve and splice it in bro..uuse foil to protect every thing inside..

    • @Josh-hf3fm
      @Josh-hf3fm 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      4015 _ it’s called a torque bar or traction bar, pretty much a stabilizer, when you take it off or cut it off it allows you to get more articulation or flex with the front axle.
