    The worst thing you can do if you think someone is following you is to drive to your house you drive to a police station you drive to a fire station you drive to a hospital anything but you never drive to your house

    I've put together a bingo card for these stories:
    -"I decided not to call the police"
    -"I called my dad"
    -"I knew it was a terrible idea but I was curious"
    -"The guy had a creepy wide smile and bulging eyes"

      The „but I was curious“ gets me every time. Makes me wonder if situation don’t scream „set-up“ as loudly when experiencing them as they do while hearing them.
      Horror movie plots start to make more and more sense xD

      Check your assumptions. The guy did nothing wrong, just happened to be in the same stores. Imagine it from HIS point of view, some creepy short guy kept staring at him and following him around stores. And then when the guy was leaving in his truck, the short guy pulls his car out right in front of him, gets on a phone, and has another car come to sandwich him in, which could have been an old insurance scam to force the middle car to hit the front car, or it could have been a robbery/kidnapping attempt. The narrator of that story and his "dad" were clearly pulling a scam and made up this story since they failed at catching the tall man.

These thieves don’t realize or maybe they just don’t care about the fact that some people have been saving there money for Black Friday deals specifically. If you live on ground level get privacy peel and stick screens and if you have horizontal sliding windows cut a pole to block the space so it can’t slide open if they get the latch unlocked. They also make peel and stick screens that prevent someone from breaking the glass.

    The first story reminds me of a horror story of my own that I experienced.
    I usually go Black Friday shopping every year, starting on Thursday night. I've never really been bothered by the crowds, since I'm pretty tall and can see over everyone. But this one year, this crazy thing happened. I'd planned to go into several stores, since they're all within a mile of each other. I started at Target at about 10 p.m. I noticed this guy who kept staring at me. I have a mohawk, so sometimes very sheltered people look at me like they've never seen a mohawk before. So rude. Anyway, after Target I went to Walmart and Best Buy. And the SAME GUY kept staring at me at those places, too. Was he following me around just to stare at me? I really needed to shop for a new laptop, but that guy was creeping me out, staring at me. I needed to get away from that guy, so I picked a section that wasn't likely to have Black Friday shoppers. Who buys refrigerators for Black Friday? But who came around the corner of that frost-free Frigidaire? That same short guy! I figured since that guy was in the refrigerator section, I could go look at the laptops now. But he showed up there, too! He stayed farther away from me, like he was trying to be sneaky, but you can't hide from someone as tall as I am. At that point I was sure that he was following me, so I headed toward the checkout. The same little guy was in another checkout line. I just hoped I finished before him so I could get out of there before he could follow me. Just my luck, he finished just seconds before I did. I stopped at the door for a minute, giving him time to get halfway across the parking lot before I headed for my own car. I hoped he wouldn't turn around and see me. No such luck. He turned around and saw me. I rushed to my old pickup truck and got in the line of cars and made it out onto the road without that guy in sight. Whew! I made it. Or so I thought. Suddenly the short guy pulls his car out and turns to cut me off, stopping right in front of me. I figured he's trying to pull one of those insurance scams where they stop in front of you suddenly to make you hit them from behind. I decided to ignore him and just be careful not to fall for anything he had planned for me. I stayed at a far distance from him, but he kept slowing down to my speed to stay directly in front of me. I tried to stay calm. There's no way he could stay in front of me for my whole way home. How would he know which turns to take? Then the guy pulls out a phone and starts yapping while driving. Great. One of THOSE idiots, driving while yapping on the phone. Soon I figured out what he was doing on the phone. Another car turned onto the street, and the two sandwiched me in closely. I was right, it was some kind of scam, or a robbery or something. The one behind me kept honking nonstop, like he was trying to scare me or something. I decided that instead of heading for home, I'd take whatever the next turn is, just to lose the guy who was in front of me. Then I could speed off and hopefully lose the one behind me if I could go fast enough and take some more turns to lose him. It worked. I lost both of them and never saw them again. I still don't know where the guy started to follow me or why he was following me. I don't know if the guys could've been dangerous. Either way, I'm hoping nothing like this ever happens again.

      @stephencoldbear 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd rather shop in the Thanksgiving night crowds than the next morning when it's less crowded? Sure, it's still crowded, but not nearly as crowded as Thanksgiving night. I'd say you're the one who doesn't have the best idea, but I don't know you. Maybe you love the biggest crowds you can get, so you think it's "not the best idea" to go when it's slightly less crowded. 🤷

    Story #3 reminded me of something that allegedly happened during the first holiday season that I had worked for Toys R Us, the year being 1996. I had only started working for the company that September and at the time employee uniforms were simply to wear a blue-collared polo-type shirt with non-tattered black or blue colored pants as well as a store-issued, but generic, plain, blue smock with a Toys R Us name badge; so, more or less, easy for anyone to mimic, a name badge being the most, but not really, difficult part to acquire.
    Since it was the holiday season, post Black-Friday, the stores were opening up earlier than usual, which required opening employees to typically arrive when it was still fairly dark outside. Now comes the "alleged" part: on one morning, our store had received a precautionary storied warning about another store somewhere that had been robbed by someone at gunpoint, the perpetrator having had gained access into the store in the early morning by posing as a seasonal employee, being dressed accordingly and having a blue smock with a name tag.
    As mentioned, I cannot confirm or deny that this happened, however relatively soon after the alleged incident had occurred, Toys R Us began issuing employees with a more unique blue vest which had the company logo embroidered onto the front as well as having the company mascot/logo printed on the backs. These vests were eventually replaced by standard blue polo-style shirts with the same kinds of identifying markings as the vests had. I'm not saying for sure that the alleged hold-up led to the change in uniform requirements, but the coincidence is compelling.

      @@tablescissors wow, employees robbing the safe is pretty extreme. During my time working for TRU, the store I worked at did have the occasional "shoplifter" employee, but (to my knowledge) this was typically done by seasonal employees.

    I don’t think I’ve ever gone Black Friday shopping before, and this is the exact reason why. Since the pandemic began I’ve become a big fan of online shopping. It’s so much better and more convenient. I don’t know why other people don’t do this and prefer to stand out in the cold for hours and then get run over by dozens of frantic shoppers, fighting over items that they could’ve easily bought from the safety and comfort of their own home.

      I have been to a few black fridays, in my experience they were never as bad as its made out to be. I feel its made to look worse than it is by a few bad things that happen. And when ever they show how horrible black friday is its always the same 5 stock footage videos. That date back to the 80's from the looks of some it gets old seeing the same footage over and over again when they talk about how bad blackfriday is if its so bad why is there not more? Long lines to get in, packed store.. that sums up my experience. As for these horror stories. They are things that can happen any day of the week and just happened on black friday.

    Curious why the person in the last story thought Walmart owed them a free TV? They aren't responsible for the criminals in the parking lot. It's not their property. That's why they can't catch someone for shoplifting until they leave the store

    • @stephencoldbear
      @stephencoldbear 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      He never said he thought Walmart owed it to him. He said Walmart gave it to him. And, yes, the parking lot IS Walmart property. And property has nothing to do with when to "catch someone for shoplifting". The reason they can't make the accusation until the person is beyond the check-out lines -- not when "they leave the store", as you claim -- is that until they're past the check-out lines, there is still an intent to pay for it. Once they've passed the check-out lines, the store security can make the shoplifting accusation because they've shown intent to leave the store without paying for what they're carrying.

    Hey I love your videos so much and I’m a massive supporter so from a place of concern- there’s been recent things coming out about Established Titles and how their product is a scam. The company is Chinese with 0 affiliation to Scotland. The land sold is inconsiderable in size and has no practical utility, and Scottish law firms have published that it is a scam- I think you should look more into this!! I know you also probably don’t know that it’s a scam as I doubt many TH-camrs would knowingly promote one. Please stay safe and thank you!!

    Some of these stories are really sketchy. Such as, the person who lost the wallet didn’t want to walk in the woods but was perfectly comfortable meeting a stranger at their house?

    • @rk2770
      @rk2770 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      True and how did that guy know his phone nmbr???

    • @stephencoldbear
      @stephencoldbear 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. A lot of people live deep in the woods, and the helpful guy had gone out to the driveway to meet the narrator rather than making him walk all the way to the house itself. Where I live, he'd be just a normal friendly guy who wanted to help. I doubt that he was hiding behind a tree; he was probably just leaning against it, waiting for the guy, or he could've been using the tree to shield his eyes from the car headlights. It just takes a tiny bit of thought to see another person's point of view, but these days kids just want to assume & accuse and carry a gun around and shoot anyone they think might be "creepy", and it's their own assumption-based fear that creates the real danger. These stories and the comments section always are a good way to see the assumptions that people make, and they're a good practice in seeing events from the point of view of a character other than the narrator. In most of the stories on this and similar videos, if you consider the actions of the characters, even based on the narrator's own first-person account accusing the other guy, in most cases the story's "creepy guy" is perfectly normal and is acting with no creepiness at all, while it's the narrator's own actions that are truly creepy and potentially dangerous to the person they accuse of being "creepy". The first story made me the most frustrated. The tall man did nothing wrong. The narrator even stated himself that he pulled out in front of the tall guy's truck, and then he accused the tall guy of following him when HE pulled out in front of him! I hope none of the writers or commenters ever try to get into law school; they'd never pass the logic test.

    If someone ever steals your stuff and gets into a car to drive off, always try to see the license plate. Repeat it to yourself until you can write it down or type it into your phone. It's better than nothing, and safer than jumping onto their car lol

    Hi!! Great video. I just wanted to say that the sponsor, established titles, is actually a scam. Many, many, if not all youtubers I watch have been sponsored by this scam not knowing about it either. I know youtubers MARKIE and iNabber have spoken about this, Markie in video form. They both had been sponsored. It's believed they're not actually authentic, etc. Other youtubers also have videos about this,

    Number 1 the dad was smart to tell his son to not go home, but dumb to not get the cops involved. Why not get a license plate number and report it to the police? Story 2. Very dumb. I would have never agreed to go to a guy's house, if he wasn't still at wal-mart (or like any normal person, turn the wallet in at customer service in wal-mart) you would have to know something weird is going on. What makes the guy think this "kind person" didn't use his credit cards and then give it back to him so he wouldn't suspect anything?... just dumb. Unfortunately the freak probably had his address from his drivers license in the wallet.

    This is exactly why I don't like going Black Friday shopping. Outside of the fact that I work retail, I hate being around people I don't know especially ones who don't really give a shit about you and just want to push you out of the way like you're a piece of shit. Honestly I'd rather shop online that way I don't have to encounter anybody
