I'm legally blind (started affecting me when I was 14, and has regressed over the past 6 years to the point that I have been using a cane since I was 18) and whilst yea, it has become a part of my personality and comes with its benefits, if I could I'd cure it in a heartbeat

I am legally blind in one of my eyes, but I can still see. I was born with half of my optic nerve not properly formed. If someone could fix it I would be so happy.
Mad Mike wasn't actually a flat earther, he decided to market his stunts with that starting in 2017 so he'd get heaps more attention. When he died, that was one of the first things his pr guy made clear.
Also, Palmer Luckey (Oculus inventor) had an interview and stuff with him, he confirmed the same thing.

fun fact, I'm only deaf in my left ear, so i'm teased with hearing but forever cursed with never being able to tell directional sound, or being able to truly experience queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody". I can't even complain about being deaf as much, since there's the constant fear that some fully deaf person is going to come out of nowhere, somehow sense I said that, and slap me while signing "at least you're not fully deaf you capitalist pig". I would do anything to fix my dumbass ear.

My aunt was in an incident and lost her ability to smell and taste and she always cooks food that she used to eat alot or used to like because she says she can still remember how the food tastes.
One time I needed to cut some tape but I couldn't find scissors so I climbed to get a knife from on top of the fridge, layed some tape across the counter, took a big backswing of the knife, and chopped the tip of my finger off.

Not being able to feel touch or pain is pretty dangerous. You wouldn't know of you were hurt or something felt wrong so usually people born like that don't live far past their 20s.
They have to do content bodily checks to see if they stepped on something or broke a bone.
Living without the ability to feel would be one of the most difficult things. My teacher told me she knew someone who didn't have that ability and for example they could not drink anything properly because they didn't feel the cup, the liquid etc. It would be the most difficult sense to lose.

The first night I had my cat, he jumped on my face and stabbed my eye. The claw went into the sclera though, not the iris, but it healed pretty quickly. So that's kinda like a needle to the eye.
I think if you puncture your iris though it can kinda leak out of the hole (like collapse and prolapse) and needs to be fixed.

I’ve been in a wheelchair for 23 years and I’ve been liking the changes that have been happening to help someone like myself be able to go into a place like Yoke’s and grocery shop or if I need to piss I can do that with relative ease. With all that being said if I were able to get a leg transplant I 100% would take that opportunity to walk on real legs that can feel any day. I don’t care how awful the rehab would be it’d be something that would genuinely make me so happy that I could do that.
i'm not trying to be funny here (mainly just trying to make light of a shitty hand you know) how often is it that people customize their chair. like i follow this drift racer thats in a wheel chair and his chair is all sorts of kitted out! like super cambered wheels, fancy rims (even has a built in stereo). it matches his drift car and everything. like i said, no ill intent. i'm genuinely curious if there's like a scene for modding chairs

A friend of mine in the navy lost his sense of smell completely due to military medical being terrible at finding a problem but he says the worst part is not knowing if he stinks or if his apartment has a bad smell and also your taste is mostly from your smell so everything just tastes kind of bland now. He found 3 month old potatoes in the back of his pantry that he didnt know were there until someone came over and said it smelled like death. I would hate that honestly. And surprisingly a lot of jobs as far as mechanical stuff go require smell in case of fire. I guess he could drive a garbage truck lol
