🤣🤣 I was waiting for someone to mention it! Did you hear her slurping up water in the background too? LOL 🤣 She's so loud when she drinks water. It's hilarious.
Hello, When I received the Tim Holtz rotary cutter, it was doing the same thing. They had me go thru the paces which I already tried. They sent me a new one and it works with no fuzzies!
So I received this on this past Monday and was excited to put it together before bedtime. The instructions did not say to cut, and unscrew, etc. I don’t like taking chances by not following directions so it took quite awhile to assemble. So far it works okay. I hope cranks and wheels are durable. I appreciate your demo. There weren’t any good ones out there.❤
Yay! I'm with you on the instructions being a bit scant. LOL. With big, expensive things that are sharp, I like to really follow all directions but sometimes you gotta connect the dots. LOL Glad we both got it working. How do you like yours so far?
@ I’m impressed so far. Sheetloads will go much faster! Thank you for the “rotation tip.” Got extra blades, looking for red knife bar replacement. No rush now!😉
This is a great cutting machine and I probably have like a billion of them. I am trying to resist getting another now. I love nice even polished cuts, too. I have the Tim Holtz rotary trimmer but also a Cutterpillar rotary cutter. My friend had a new Cutterpillar cutter per my suggestion. Hers did not cut very well. She ordered a new base plate blade, and it works great now. I am wondering if your Tim Holtz one also needs the same fix.. I know things should work right out of the box, but checking into it could be worthwhile.
Thanks so much for the tip! I have heard the cutter pillar is really good. I did write into their customer support about the TH rotary but never got a response. =/
Thanks for the demo! Question, have you tried cutting stacks of watercolor paper or thick cardstock? I'm looking to create watercolor notebooks or mixed media notebooks and was curious how it does with stacks of thicker cardstock. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us! 😊
I haven't tried watercolor but it cuts through 100 lb cover weight cardstock pretty easily. I cut through about half an inch thick with ease. I think it would cut watercolor paper just as well but I can see if I still have any and give it a go!
@LVHandcrafted oh Perfect! Thanks so much! That would be so exciting because I hate trying to trim up the stacks of watercolor paper after using the thermal cinch. Thanks again for working things out for us lol 😊
Would you say this is strictly for cutting large quantities? I’m in need of a new guillotine trimmer, but I can’t find one with markings down to a 1/4 inch. I’d prefer even better at 1/8 of an inch. I use this type of trimmer when I make mini albums. The one you are using seems like it has some nice features but may not be suited for cutting 1 sheet at a time.
Most any Fiskars trimmer/guillotine will have markings down to 1/8. I use the Fiskars guillotine, which can cut up to 12x12. This guillotine is very heavy duty and if you never have to cut through a large stack of paper or several sheets of mat board or chipboard, then it's a bit overkill. It can slice through a single sheet but this is a heavy piece of equipment and likely needs a dedicated space b/c it's heavy and can be hard to move around. :) That said, if you do mini albums, you might need cut several sheets like mats and layers even for a single album. If you make several albums, I could see wanting something heavy duty to easily cut through everything in one go. There's also a big price difference. The Fiskars guillotine is maybe around $30 and this is around $180. Hope that helps!
Is the stack cutter paper trimmer 6 or 7? Also, when you used the allen wrench to open up the space to take the block out (Orange thingy) did you ever put the screw back in its place?
The stack cutter is not a paper trimmer. It's new and is the "Cinch Stack Cutter". It's really heavy duty. :) There isn't a screw on the bottom where I pushed up the red "bar" or "high quality knife board" 😄. There's just a hole. So no need to unscrew anything.
I am sure I need this. I loved hearing the tickety tick of your doggo's paws!❤❤❤

Thank you for this review. It's helped me feel better about my purchase while I'm waiting to receive it. Much appreciated!
I'm so glad it helped! Let me know what you think once you get yours. I'm really enjoying it. 😊

Really?? That's awesome! I didn't get a response when I reached out but it's been over a year so far too late. Lol
Thanks for the demo. It would be nice if we could see all of the handle in order to understand what you were doing.
Thanks for the feedback!

You got it! I got the notification that it was back in stock but decided that I was going to pass on it for now
It's not on sale now anyhow, so you're definitely better off waiting for a sale. (if you do end up getting it)
Fabulous demo, Linh... thanks!🩵
Thank you so much, friend! 💖
Congratulations on your new cutter 🥰 Great first look. It looks great ❤️ thanks for sharing Hugs xx

@ that’s a bummer! It is nice to see that your new cutter is working well
You’re going to read the instructions? I am impressed
Girl, this thing could slice off my thumb! I'm definitely reading the instructions. LOL. Plus they were short and had pictures. 🤣
Thank you for the demo of this tool great job by the way 💐😊
Thanks so much, friend! 💖

I bought this to cut chipboard to make Cartonnage boxes. It arrived a couple of days ago but I haven’t tried it out yet.
@Ginal2011 awesome! Let me know what you think of it once you try it out!

Oh I just realized the context of your first question... Lol 😂 it's more like #10 or 11. In my previous counts I forgot about 2 i have. Lol
