ruan mei did not "try to revive the swarm" or whatever she did what she did purely to gain insight and research knowing full well it would die in under a minute and if things got dangerous she would've handled it (she said so in the trailblazer continuance) so it's kinda silly to pretend like her existence is a threat to firefly somehow anyway

Asta can also be great synergy with Firefly with fire damage boost and speed (if you're like me and didn't get Ruan Mei and aren't pulling now in favor of Firefly pulls)
Nah it will be underwhelming. You won't get RM break efficiency and break delay so damage window will be significantly lower. We already have the Trex type of enemy who takes way less toughness damage and yeah Sam boss too.

Asta's fire damage trace doesn't affect Firefly since SB damage isn't affected by elemental modifiers. This includes planar orbs.

The bugs actually resist fire. None of the variants have Fire weaknesses as far as i know
