  • Filmed on June 6, 2023. A full, real-time ride from the motorman's perspective on Edmonton's Metro Line. This video will take you northbound from the stub track just south of Health Sciences/Jubilee Station, to NAIT, currently the end of the line until the extension into Blatchford opens later this year. Enjoy! :)

Nice to see Edmonton again, hope you will film the valley line if it ever opens. Sad that Nait trains do not go all the way to Century Park now, makes the capital line crowded at peak hours.

I plan on doing the Valley Line as soon as it opens. Hopefully it won’t be an issue to film. And I totally agree with trains between Health Sciences and Century Park. I bet the problem will be even more exasperated when the extension to Ellerslie Road opens in a few years.

@@chrisvazquez7 Agreed, totally understand doing it on weekends (like it was before) but on weekdays is crazy. I live Downtown and sometimes like going to U OF A to shop at H-MART to get some specific products there. Always use the HS Jubilee line because it is empty almost all the time. While Century Park is completely crowded.

Yeah that's true, and sad about the nait line not going all the way to century park I mean it should during rush hour.

Commenting here again, one thing it would be nice is if in the description you added the date it was filmed (I know the year is in the title) for example this video was taken on June 12th, 2023. It is a little addition but it is nice to know the date it was filmed.

Kinda neat to see the layover spot if a train only goes to Health Sciences. I had always assumed that the train might deadhead to Century Park and do a Capital Line run from there. Maybe some do.

Am I the only one that thinks that ETS has roughed out a future stop at 107 Avenue (15:30)?

Nice quality video. No camera shake! What's the electrical sounding noise that seems to occur at various parts of the video? eg. 9.25 to 9.40 but lots besides.

I believe that’s just the lens vibrating against the glass as I was pressing my phone up to the door. The sound occurs while going over bumps, so I probably wasn’t holding the phone securely enough.

Are you planning to do another time lapse of this line?

Definitely! Maybe later this year :)

What kind of camera do you use?

Just using my iPhone. Not great quality, mostly because it’s through two panes of glass, but better than nothing. Thanks for watching!

Is Blatchford actually opening this year? I thought it was going to be 2025.

The city said it is expecting it to open this winter ahead of schedule.
