Megamare is great ocean/beach fragrance. It is very interesting to see how certain smells evoke such strong associations with the sea or beach, when in reality the actual sea or beach smells nothing like them.
You, recommending marine fragrances? Colour me intrigued! This is why I like your channel, you don't shy away from recommending fragrances that aren't necessarily 100% your taste while staying open and honest about it.
i've grown to appreciate marine fragrances over the last few years, and videos like this have been a big part of that. as for my favorites: "Oud Minerale" by Tom Ford, "Whispered Myths" by Imaginary Authors (probably one of the least popular by that house, but i'm mesmerized by the Cambodian Oud, Melon, and musk trio), and my favorite marine fragrance "Black Caviar" by Electimuss (which works year-round with it's deep and earthy oud laid over lavender) - oh... and one challenging but stellar marine scent: "Ocean Oud" by Ramon Monegal
My favorite oceanic/marine fragrance, and what I consider to be the greatest of that genre ever, is Creed EROLFA. It's the older brother of Millesime Imperial, and imo is the better of the two. Its Mediterranean sea spray in the face, somewhere in the perfect nether region between photorealistic Mediterranean sea spray and ideolized Mediterranean sea spray. I haven't tried many of these 15 so maybe EROLFA could be dethroned. I have MMM Replica Sailing Day, which I like but isn't really top 15 material. Other oceanic frags I like that weren't named are Roja Oceania and James Heeley Sel Marin.
For those who would like a marine fragrance option in their collection but have struggled to find an example they could live with, I would highly recommend Brittany Breeze by Lubin. Mint and herbs, rather anything obviously marine, deliver the scent of bracing sea air - for me at least.
Nuda Veritas, Curacao Bay and Ocean Leather sound interesting to me, I like marine fragrances but definitely more into darker scents. I will always like Nautica Voyage, for me it's a comfort scent. Tha ones I really like right now are Wet Stone, Paula's Ibiza, BVLGARI AQVA and Zoologist Seahorse. Thanks for the list Sebastian!!!
I really struggle with marine fragrances too. They often smell very artificial to me. But I adore Seahorse by zoologist, every storm a serenade by imaginary authors, and coastal veil by pineward, so I’m here looking for others that give that authentic ozonic note. Maybe I just like a seaweed note? I dunno but I want to figure out what the difference between marine fragrances I like and don’t like is.
I have Nuda veritas and Un air de Bretagne and I know a few from the others, but generally I like marine fragrances on a man. Nuda Veritas is the exception because it has lots of flowers, so it smells great on me. Sel marin by Heeley is not bad and I've also smelled Acqua di sale and Sel d'argent, but they were a bit too 'fishy' for my taste.
Kenzo Pour Homme was my go-to marine scent for years until they kept messing with fragrance profile and bottle design...now it looks and smells so cheap and nothing like the original. Now I wear Aqua Amara by Bulgari. That briney ocean tang with salt and grapefruit....perfection!
Hi Sebastian, I just love your channel. I have worn Hermes Eau de Merveille Bleu...very marine, like it in the summer.....I got L'OMBRE DES MERVEILLES for Christmas and it is rather unisex. I don't know how to categorize this one. Can you help me with it. I don't even know how I feel about it.
There is an ingredient/note that perfumers use to achieve the marine or ocean smell, that comes off raw on my skin. D&G light blue intense for example.
What do you think of Loubimar from Louboutin? I bought as a bling buy thinkin it would be an "eau legere", but was quite surprised that it has significant sillage. Regarding Memo Ocean Leather, I really don't see this one as a Marine scent at all. On my skin is more of a powdery scent.
Actually a good suggestion - it's not as uncommon as one would think - from Un Jardin Sur Le Nil to Polo Deep Blue Parfum or Double Black... it would interesting to see what Sebastian picks....
I looked at Scent Trunk...there are 3 other scents that have sea and marine notes. I'm wondering why you picked Simmer Dim ( Salt,. Aquione, Celestial Gala)
@@ThePerfumeGuy It's worth getting a sample! I'm looking to get a bottle soon. Really unusual in character and very long lasting for a fresh maritime scent.
Maison Margela is a mixed bag to me. I haven’t smelled all, but I like Jazz Club, lazy Sunday?, After the rain? By the fireplace. Sailing day is ok, but it smells really ordinary, too much like the cloth napkins on the boat for my taste.
hey Sebastian! do you feel let down lately by Maison Margiela? which have disappointed you? I really enjoy Autumn Vibes and When the Rain Stops is really good. I was disappointed by Coffee Break, I had too much expectation
i dont understand why jeremy has more subscribers than you? that guy has nothing to offer going on and on and on the same recycled topic. You sre the best out there man!
It's like..I like how your this top 40 type general frag head but you got such a collection Dat I like to see more in depth artistic symbolic reviews of what you have in like historical order
Try Haute Provence by Parle Moi De Parfum. Discussed in this video. th-cam.com/video/PDogoBgqWsk/w-d-xo.html it’s watermelon lavender and marine notes.
There really is nothing that actually smells like the ocean huh. It's always just floral, citrus, coconut, etc. Is it that hard to make a compound that smells like ocean. We know the primary chemicals evolved, do they just not keep well?

I came here thinking it would take number1
Absolutely knocks out at least 5 perfumes from this list that i have sampled
For me you are a true parfume expert, you are really showing fragrances that nobody else from the TH-camrs has mentioned
Tom Ford Oud Minerale is the ultimate marine fragrance IMO
You, recommending marine fragrances? Colour me intrigued! This is why I like your channel, you don't shy away from recommending fragrances that aren't necessarily 100% your taste while staying open and honest about it.
Thank you!! :)
Ciao Seb! Totally in love with Curaçao Bay. Cecile Z always kicks ass 😬

Nice video ! I really enjoy Megamare by Orto Parisi, a very powerful marine scent, worth checking out.
Nice video!!! My Tops are Foconero, 40 Knots, Phtaloblue, D&G light blue Intense and Profumo ADG. I like Ocean Leather too.
Great list and I enjoyed it and I like Creed Millisime Imperial and naticea Voyage and I'm going to try the other fragrances and have a blessed night
Great video again! How do you find the Frederic Malle, I have been looking at it lately. Does it lean too feminine?

EROLFA??? WTF!!!!
@@politicallyincorrectmyballs Yep without doubt.
Definitely Aqua di Sale Profumum Roma and 40knots XERJOFF
Berdoues has some hidden gems and as you noted, reasonably priced. They have a tobacco scent that's nice; Hoja de Cuba.
For those who would like a marine fragrance option in their collection but have struggled to find an example they could live with, I would highly recommend Brittany Breeze by Lubin. Mint and herbs, rather anything obviously marine, deliver the scent of bracing sea air - for me at least.
More female perfume videos please, really enjoy the presentation of your knowledgeable videos.
I prefer the more niche sea note fragrances.... Magamare is great. Laytafa Atlas too. Anything with similar notes? Earthy?
Totally loved to see nautica voyage in your list Sebastian! NV is The niche killer!
I have been a fan since 2012!!
Pacific Rock Moss and Sel Marine are two fantastic marine fragrances as well.
Aqua di sale has to be on the list surely? I find the carthusia ammare has a very similar opening to it too.
No it grosses me out. LOL! Just no to Acqua Di Sale! ;)
@@ThePerfumeGuy oh ok 👍
🤢🤮
Very educational list. Don't you like TF Costa Azurra?
The first introduction to aquatic fragrances was the original KENZO not marine necessarily but outrageously unique and quenching !
Im really enjoying Ocean of a midnight moon by Simone Andreoli . Marine like with leather 😀
Do you have any Japanese fragrances?
Nuda Veritas, Curacao Bay and Ocean Leather sound interesting to me, I like marine fragrances but definitely more into darker scents. I will always like Nautica Voyage, for me it's a comfort scent. I hope you get to try them!!

No Roja Parfum Oceania?
Megamare by orto parisi is excellent

Hurray....Nautica Voyage gets some mention 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hello can you review the Inis perfume? ❤
Hi Sebastian!! Excellent video! Yeah, marine frags are challenging! This list is well-curated! 💙💙💙🙌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏
Salt frag video!!! 👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for stopping by! :)
Yes, M. Micallef is underrated. One of my favorite scents is DesirToxic. 🤩
Oh yes that is quite good as well!
I wonder what's your opinion on Sel Marin by Heeley :)

My fovourites are Aqua di Sale/ Profumum Roma and Eau de Merveilles Bleu/ Hermes.
There is an ingredient/note that perfumers use to achieve the marine or ocean smell, that comes off raw on my skin. D&G light blue intense for example.
Tiziana terenzi foconero is a wonderful ocean scent.
Imaginary authors falling into the sea is another favorite of mine.
Thanks for the video
You bet

We want a list of the best mango fragrances
Mango huh? Do I have any Mango fragrances? I might just have three sadly. Will have to research to find them. 🥭🥭🥭
@@ThePerfumeGuy cruz del sur II from xerjoff
Tiziana Terenzi Bianco Puro
Mango skin vilhelm
Actually a good suggestion - it's not as uncommon as one would think - from Un Jardin Sur Le Nil to Polo Deep Blue Parfum or Double Black... it would interesting to see what Sebastian picks....
Great list BUT you missed the best most realistic ocean beach vibe fragrance, Sea Island from Royal Crown, a wow fragrance.
Reminiscent of an old favorite, Profumo Di Montecatini by Princess Marcella Borgese🌊💙
Thanks for another amazing fragrance review!
Arquiste, Sidney Rock Pool
Sebastian, you're still out on Eden Roc? Did you ever revisit it in hot really hot weather?
I looked at Scent Trunk...there are 3 other scents that have sea and marine notes. I'm wondering why you picked Simmer Dim
( Salt,. Aquione, Celestial Gala)
Thanks for sharing your video take care 😇
Sailing Day is really awesome, I might have to get a full bottle for me and my husband to share
Is there any fragrance of Acqua di Parma with actual longevity?
All I had didn't last longer than 1 hour.
Have you tried 40 Knots?
I don’t own it sadly!
@@ThePerfumeGuy It's worth getting a sample! I'm looking to get a bottle soon. Really unusual in character and very long lasting for a fresh maritime scent.

The two you mentioned you liked I didn’t care for. Coffee Break good to me. Not like an Uber wow tho!! 😀
@@ThePerfumeGuy Coffee Break was a bit too sweat for me if I recall correctly. Thanks for sharing your thoughts :)
Can you please make Designer Marine list
i dont understand why jeremy has more subscribers than you? that guy has nothing to offer going on and on and on the same recycled topic. You sre the best out there man!
I love Brezza di Mare. I smell the watermelon in it…it’s so refreshing in the heat. I just wish it lasted longer.
It’s quite good isn’t it?
@@ThePerfumeGuy yes!
I am further intrigued by the ocean leather
It's like..I like how your this top 40 type general frag head but you got such a collection Dat I like to see more in depth artistic symbolic reviews of what you have in like historical order
If a scent portraied the early morning in Mediterranean in the most beautiful way that would be Ilio by Diptyque.
Creed's Erolfa.
The greatest ever. Wore it tonight.
I don’t know why you didn’t talk about brand Puredistance ?
Sel marin and kenzo homme for me
OOh I'll have to revisit Sel Marin again. I remember it had that sulphuric smell back when I first tested it. I don't remember the Kenzo Homme saldy.
Blueberry fragrance or berry. Someone at a funeral had it on didn’t know how to ask what it was.
please do a review on pierre roche oceanic
Im looking for other fragrances like millesime with the salty fruity notes any suggestions ??
Try Haute Provence by Parle Moi De Parfum. Discussed in this video. th-cam.com/video/PDogoBgqWsk/w-d-xo.html it’s watermelon lavender and marine notes.
Also you can try this marine Ozonic watermelon scent by The Harmonist: th-cam.com/video/IWnBy1yweec/w-d-xo.html
@@ThePerfumeGuy thank u for the recommendation also greatly appreciate the links too ill forsure check em out
No Acqua di Sale T.T
im voting for dream sea by l pazzaglia
Wet stone by amouroud is pretty good marine fragrance.
I guess I'm in a small crowd who loves "When The Rain Stops' by Maison Margiela.
I have it and like it, but it is purposely a petrichor scent more than marine/oceanic. And it's not that great a petrichor scent.
I'm so excited for autumn! 🙌🍁🍂🎃
List with less common fruits in the spotlight (guava, tomato, melon, mango, kiwi…)
No Squid? 🌹
Was in Salty!
Nishane Boszporusz!🔥
Try acqua di portofino sail
Sabastian try this hidden gem, best marine ever!
Bois Flotté Eau de Parfum L'Occitane en Provence
I'm surprised there is no BVLGARI Aqua frags in this top :)
I don’t click with the Bvlgari Aqua Fragrances sadly! 😀
@@ThePerfumeGuy that's because tastes differ. Thanks for this top ;)
Not 40 knots by xerjoff?
I don’t own it sadly!
Thanks Sebastian 7-27-2022😊😊
show the picture and name more when you are talking about them
No loumari huh
The Loumari is salt not marine!
@@ThePerfumeGuy ooh I adore that you are always on point with the distinctions!
Davidoff Cool Water years ago ruined me re. "marine notes" - Yuck.
Yep Memo fragrances all look the same so I get it😂
😂

Lattafa Atlas or Megamare
And I mean these are legit
Nautical Voyage has to be the weakest fragrance I have ever tried, even weaker than 1411 Eau de Cologne.
