@DiamondChik2 and just to let you know... these guys have fantastic skills in ambidextrous dance...... This was totally lacking in good bollywood dancers like Sridevi and to an extent in Madhuri as well. Sridevi had a major problem doing the steps with both sides of her body identically. Madhuri struggled less.Vyjanthimala had no problmes. and one person no one remembers because she was a terrible actress was Meenakshi.She was super and totally symmetrical in her dance. Although bharatnatyam.

The way they oves says they enver were prfessionally trained. I believe Indian classical dance form must be respected enough to stay far from viewer as long as it's not good enough. Bollywood can be unprofessional or mixed with any other dance style. Bollywood has no school. no gharanas nothing, it's just entertaiment and fun. But kathak needs it. It something to learn and to be taught. It doesn't comes just with love to indian culture. It's much more than it.
thsi is mostly billowood style a few steps, movements being kathk. yes. the thing is, if today i do a salsa like i would do a pop routine, with a partner, call it modern salsa. it doesnt work that way. for every dance form, there is a certain technique. i am not against creativity, this creation and neither am i jealous. i believe in my creativity and capacity and feel God has given me more than enough. i know bols paran etc are not the end of it.
@DiamondChik2 - Vyjanthimala yes...the intensity of difficulty in the steps she did with finesse was simply spellbinding.. Madhuri is good but not that good... She cant do very tough numbers.. her numbers are or little or medium to average difficulty. .. She was good for the light sexual numbers
this is not kathak.. its a combination of bollowood and a few repeated kathak hand movements in a ratio of 5:1. its a good attempt. dancers are dancing very well.. and excellent syncronization. but please this is not kathak dance. i can list a hundred reasons why. and i'm a kathak dancer under the guidance of pt. birju maharaj and am qualified enough to make this comment. this is my request to reshmarussia to clarify the fact that this not kathak and "modern" kathak is way too ambigious a term.
@palinaelena - and no i am not possessive at all.. Everyone has a right to learn whta they want... I am just surprised... to be honest... Russians here in uk seem rather racist... so I was sortov curious... I guess not everyone is like that.. Apologies :)
@ukkathak - You dont have to be nasty just because a set of Russians came , learnt your dance and culture and beat you to a pulp at it! Im Indian too , and can see they know and have more knowledge and possibly talent than many of the Indian Kathak dancers itself!
@reshmarussia - all the russians I meet in uk dont like indians... so why are you learning our dance styoles ? because you want to make money out of it ? why not your own dances ?
