In fifty years time, this vocalist will be studied, all the songs he has done will be analyzed and his vocals picked apart, then just like now , people will shake their heads and wonder . In the end they will accept just like today how great he is. Today we are lucky to enjoy him for the same reasons and just be grateful.
This is such a beautiful song with those trademark LRB harmonies that are just beautiful. I think this would have to be one of the greatest vocal performances from John, the power, passion and emotion he puts in is incredible. And sorry to say for LRB fans but Glenn’s version doesn’t even come close to John’s. John is the greatest and most versatile male vocalist of all time, he can sing anything, any genre, simply epic.
I think the John Farnham version is even better than the original. You should check out all of the Farnham videos. Can you please turn up the volume of the video? Thank you!
No they both have songs that suit them best. I LOVE John. But this does belong to Glenn.. the smoothness of his voice. John is FABULOUS at HELP, and many others
Actually Glenn was the original lead singer, he got turfed out and John took his place for 5 years before they got Glenn Bck in the lineup again, but either way, John is bloody brilliant and still rocking it! Theres a reason us Aussies call him The Voice!
If you are impressed with John Farnham in this and in Reminiscing, you should watch him sing “Help - 1989 with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra”, or his version of the Led Zeplin song Black Dog. And man there’s soooo many more!
John has the best voice in Rock/Pop second to none. Not even Freddy M (genius BTW) could reach him nor Dennis de Young from Styx or...or..or..Don't be angry guys, just my opinion. John's power and feel are almost unearthly.
This is a Major Chill out song for me. I am a Pisces and spent Years on the Ocean, so this is a Very Special song for me!!! Thank you for Playing this one!
Just about time for a new John Farnham reaction isn't it....please! Here's a later live performance of him as a solo artist you could do. th-cam.com/video/lfWrXc5eN8g/w-d-xo.html
Hey Special K... This one of those songs that's easy to take for granted growing up. Heard it a million times on the radio and like you said, it's a comfort song that just makes you feel good. 💞U Much respect and love... Rock on and stay heavy!! 🤘😉🤘 T
No disrespect to Farnham's amazing talent but I would much prefer the original recording. This just sounds weird to me. I guess I listened to the original LRB recordings so long its ingrained in me.
My hs math teacher would always turn on Little River Band during the end of class lol And sometimes he'd bring his guitar out and play. Definitely been a while since I heard this. Sweet reaction Kali 💯💯
Could you react to John Farnham help with Melbourne sympathy orchestra please. John had not hit his stride yet here though. He was still in his 20s and got much much better as he got older and after he stopped smoking
This is only my NSHO, but you cheat yourself to make live music your introduction to a band for sure. The studio version is going to be the closest to composition. Might I suggest the band Three Dog Night, One, Eli’s Comin, Easy to be Hard. That’s a pretty good start;) I do love seeing the reactions of millennials to the music of my youth, 1956. More so with black folks that I just know came up on rap and hip hop, and they are flabbergasted how good the music was back in the day. And not just good, but that all that soul was coming out of “pasty white boys and girls” my term;) Seriously, Three Dog Night
I prefer Glen Shorrock who is the real lead singer of the group. His low and deep voice suits the group more. John Farnham, who temporarily filled in when Glen needed a brake, has an incredibly powerful voice, I believe too powerful for the group. He is holding back here in this video and you can tell. This songs much better in the lower more somber key.
thank you for doing this one Kristin. I was instantly back to a moment in 1975, sitting on the couch, listening to this song, with both my babies snuggled up in my arms, sleeping...I could literally smell them. omg. first thing I see on internet today and I'm crying, but they are sweet tears...a gift.
John Farnham is not the original lead singer of this band. Glen shorrock is. I love John Farnham heaps but prefer the original of this song, with glen singing
John Farnham over sang everything he ever did. Over rated singer imo. The REAL & ONLY Original LRB was with Glenn Shorrock on lead vocals. Farnham just didn't fit in LRB AT ALL and this was the start of the demise of what was LRB.
One of the best male Singer in the World. End of story.
I saw this live in 1983 at westbury Long Island

It's Farnham with a silent 'H'. : ) One of the greatest voices in the world!!
Ohh Thankyou! I never get the pronunciation right 🙏💕
@@KristinKali My pleasure. Loved your video. So cool to share someone with so much talent. Thank you : )
@@dicruz8536 🙂🙏💕

I think the John Farnham version is even better than the original. You should check out all of the Farnham videos. Can you please turn up the volume of the video? Thank you!
John s great, but Glenn's always the man when it comes to LRB.
No they both have songs that suit them best. I LOVE John. But this does belong to Glenn.. the smoothness of his voice.
John is FABULOUS at HELP, and many others
John was the second singer Glenn was the founder ..
Actually Glenn was the original lead singer, he got turfed out and John took his place for 5 years before they got Glenn Bck in the lineup again, but either way, John is bloody brilliant and still rocking it! Theres a reason us Aussies call him The Voice!
Their music was always on my road trip mixed tape.😉😍👍👍❤
If you are impressed with John Farnham in this and in Reminiscing, you should watch him sing “Help - 1989 with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra”, or his version of the Led Zeplin song Black Dog. And man there’s soooo many more!
I took your advice and thanks. Wow.
@@brianlester3502 glad I could help! Happy to recommend many if you like ☺️
Actually Glen was the original singer he was replaced by John and then Glen returned.
This is one of the most beautiful live performances ever. Thank you for reviewing!
John Farnham's version of this song outstrips all other versions. Beautiful.
Glen and John are both amazing singers...neither is better than the other...just different. People need to stop comparing!!
Amanda Gray I agree They are different type of singers
Auto-tune?
nope
just the real thing
just the real talent
Just the real emotion
music will never be this good and honest again
👊💙🗣Mic drop!
Love Little River Band!
Absolutely love this song!
LRB!!!!👍
That was fantastic
John made the band better. Glen Shorrock is nowhere as good as John Farnham.
😊😊

Check out John Farnham the singer singing the voice or when the war is over
👊❤️🗣Thankyou Shane! Will do! 💕🙂
Kristin Kali got to see his version of the Beatles song “Help” live with MSO in 1987 he kills it
He has a most amazing and versatile voice. ❤️❤️❤️
Farnham for Reminiscing & Shorrock for Cool Change.
Farnham for all of them
John Farnham undoubtedly one of Australia’s best but Little River Band Original singer Glenn Shorrock is just the best..
John was good with the little river band but Glenn Shorrock was the best front man that they had ..
Glenn was and is good, but John had a better voice .
No disrespect to Farnham's amazing talent but I would much prefer the original recording. This just sounds weird to me. I guess I listened to the original LRB recordings so long its ingrained in me.
👊💙🗣nothing wrong w your opinion, Thank-you for showing so much respect for both singers 🙌☺️
Their video with the dolphins is amazing!

Scott Martin... John Farnham was 34 when he preformed this concert.
Good choice so try John Farnham and you're the voice live you will love the power in his voice
This is only my NSHO, but you cheat yourself to make live music your introduction to a band for sure. The studio version is going to be the closest to composition.

@Kristin Kali
NO NO NO NO NO ...... I got 20 seconds into him singing and had to stop!!! You *MUST* find the studio version. Seriously!!!
thank you for doing this one Kristin. John Farnham is not the original lead singer of this band. Glen shorrock is. I love John Farnham heaps but prefer the original of this song, with glen singing
John Farnham was not the first singer with Little River Band. Glenn Shorrock was the first.
Just sayin', some people will tell you anything!
Farnham is great but he’s not as good as the original singer of the song. It’s just not his song.
You need the real little river singers. Much better
Very nice, not the best version, but still a very nice choice. You might enjoy Southern Cross by Crosby, Stills and Nash. Just a thought
I think John Farnham over sings but he certainly has an amazing range and tone.
This is awesome but I prefer the original singer, his voice is more soulful.
Hey!!!😃 I'd like check out kings of kudos, Stephen Housdens band he plays with now. He was the lead for LRB 😃
John Farnham is ok on this but Glenn Shorrock on the original recording is better.
Glen's voice is better, listen to both and decide. You will pick Glen's
Jamie E... John Farnham is regularly cited as one one the greatest vocalist of all time. Glenn Shorrock is not. End of story.
John Farnham over sang everything he ever did. Over rated singer imo. The REAL & ONLY Original LRB was with Glenn Shorrock on lead vocals. Farnham just didn't fit in LRB AT ALL and this was the start of the demise of what was LRB.
Knob!
bull
What a load.
Boo! Not the original. This was after the replacement of the lead singer. This is no where to the original level.
