Unless I'm severely mistaken, Heihachi doesn't seem that overwhelming outside of Warrior's Instinct. With it, he's a god for a round, but the rest of the time he just seems pretty good, and not fuck busted.
He has better mixups than he did in previous games (due to stance pressure that have unbreakable throws, meaning he's not stuck using questionable low pokes to force an opponent to crouch) but he's still a character who needs to get an advantage to really do his best work. If he's not in control of the neutral usually you're just stuck with basic Mishima tools but at some of their worst options (crouch dash 50/50 relies on an overly deep, committed mid option [f,f+2], which some characters can even punish on block, or negative pressure on block [f,f+3] and dinky lows; otherwise all you can do is poke with WS 4 and try to bait whiffs into EWGF), which is pretty typical for Heihachi. Once he has an opponent who respects him he it's difficult to get him to back off and Warrior Instinct mode steers into that threefold. He did keep the Hellsweep buff from Tekken 7 Season 4 where the first sweep by itself does +8 and forces crouch on regular connect so both WS 4 and CD 4 each grant a +8 on hit, meaning you're always uninterruptible if you score a CD poke (and if your opponent is conditioned to block low after a Hellsweep you can force them to stand up into a +8 by doing Hellsweep into 4). He can also launch punish -15 from crouch without needing precise execution, which is a completely new ballgame. This, I think, is one of the most significant enhancements he's ever had.
Dear diary today is the 20th day of playing heihachi I have not been able to go Warrior instinct as nobody gets hit by my heat engagers not only that I get bodied before I can even go Ultra instinct 😂
@@SolidSonicTH Informative ! However isn't f4 noteworthy ? Move seems really good when coupled whit hellsweep (1st hit only, or 1st hit into WS4 as you said). Also I had trouble defending against I think what looked liked DF1, 2 (blue sparks), but as I didn't check the frames I don't know if its any good (looks + tho). B2 looks like a good neutral tool when opponents respect you, if not that mid kick (B4 ?) seems to be the other option. Plus (?), CH launcher, wall splats on NH. Also he looks veery weak to SS ? If I'm mistaken please enlighten, I just fought a few sets against him as of yet
@@mathiasprudhomme6495 f+4 is a good lockdown tool and gives guaranteed follow-ups (including Heat Engagers) on crouched hit but it's generally a little too slow to properly convince people they need to be standing against Heihachi by using it as a 50/50 with a low (although even if they block it they're stuck waiting for your next option since you're at advantage). You can do it out of crouch dash by double-tapping forward but this is most useful against a wall because they won't be able to back away from you afterwards. I haven't found a ton of applications for it on open-ground as a straight mixup option (in other words its useful for its express function as a lockdown tool but doesn't really offer a lot beyond that unless they actually get hit while crouching). For mid options I generally try for f,f+2 out of crouch dash (assuming they're at a distance waiting for me to approach, since it crushes high for the first couple of frames) or WS 4 for pokes and frame advantage on hit. f,f+2 is punishable (by some characters) and steppable so it's a move to be used with caution.
From a few videos I have seen so far, I notice that in some instances Heihachi strikes the opponent during Warrior Instinct cause the health bar to flash blue. But not ALL of his moves do that even in W.I. Any idea what that is about?
Honestly he’s quite balanced and a pretty difficult character to pilot but as long as you remember to pop heat 3 times in a match and get warriors instinct he easily becomes the most busted character in the game 😭 They need to implement some sort of risk when entering it
What is the playerbase's reception on this kind of mechanic? IMO it's kinda strange, an install that makes you completely busted for a single round doesn't seem like it belongs in tekken, even when you're looking at T8, which is quite a bit different from the previous iterations of the franchise
It feels like they tried to make it like Lydia's installation, but they ran out of ideas on how to make it unique. So they just said screw it. It activates on heat engage.😅
I like it. Tekken is one of the most round based games where chipping out that last win is crucial. So having this reading for the last round and just trying to out pressure them feels great.

@@Justlookingaround19 Then do heat without engagers lmao

Also upon activation it give you some free recoverable health. I'd say that it's better to keep it for early / mid round, not one the very beginning
This is a really well made video! Beats all those people who do guides where it's just some guy in practice mode talking for an hour
The reina ➡️ Hei pipeline has started, can’t wait for your future guides applay
Wildly helpful, I’m labbing heihachi rn and I couldn’t get my head around how to activate it lmao. Keep making great videos man 🤝🏼
don't forget that ff2 on warrior instinct has long range
Nice quick guide. Thanks!
His SECOND Rage Drive from 7, let's be clear. He only had b+2,1+2 in Season 1 but then they added it to the 1,b+2 string in Season 2.
🤫
his OG twin piston is actually back in df+1, 2
Should name it Traitor instinct after he killed the monks that save him that bastard 😂😂
Lmfao 😂 I’m calling it Traitor Instinct from now on.
Rai 1 and fuj 2 also break armor in warrior instinct
Stance is only threatening if you get hit or if you block his heat

It's erasing opponents recoverable health

Whats the backround music?
Aha! So it's 1+4

Idk, I like the way the install gives many homages to Heihachi from previous Tekken games. In that way it seems like it fits in

Anyone know the notation for that last combo lol
Warrior Instinct df+2,1 > f,n,d,df+4,4,1 > 1,b+2,2 > d+4
Thank you so much!
Holy SHit!
Btw the second and third low in his hellsweep become safe on block with Warrior Instinct at -10
Edit* there's crouching jab that could hit I think
They are -10 even outside Warrior Instinct form, tho. If you block 2nd or 3rd, always punish with downjab or a strong i10 (Jun and Lee)
Shows you just how cheap Heihachi could be in previous games haha.
'
This is just a marketing thing, he will get nerfed
for real. its weird how they gave some characters all these installs and enhanced states stuff but other characters don't have anything
